Okay, not gonna lie, I actually tried to lose the Lord Crump (1) fight when I was a kid. Brought myself all the way down to 1 HP by jumping in the water over and over, then went to go fight him, and to my surprise I was given 5 HP at the start of the fight instead of 1. Probably to prevent softlocking.
When I listened back to what I said in my commentary, I actually remembered that you could lose 1 HP by going into the water, so I tested it the same as you had, and got the same results!
...so I used Zephiles's practice codes to make this possible (I just changed Mario's HP to 1), and it just results in an ordinary game over. I'm not sure why they force that, though, as you can still Guard (and Superguard) his attack to bring it down to 0 damage...
@@meta04 probably so a person who just doesnt understand anything (how to do action commands, guard, fell in the water constantly not knowing they were getting hurt) can progress the story to the point the game can give them a tutorial.

Everyone keeps saying "Why are the Iron Clefts not the top spot", when it's completely possible that they only joined recently and haven't had the time to challenge past the tenth spot.
I always assumed that every team above the Iron Clefts also figured out to throw one into the other. Rawk Hawk could pick them up, Hamma, Bamma, and Flare could group and pick one up. Magikoopa Mob can lift them with magic and slam them into each other. Bulky Bob-omb and Bob-ulk are so weak. Just Appeal every turn until they start running then use veil. Tons of Star Points gained at the cost of 1FP. Smorg is the most memorable boss because of it's moving plateau background. Here's some footage of Showstopper KO-ing Bowser. I just went by the moves I saw all the other enemies use, and I couldn't imagine them actually accomplishing the same feat as Yoshi. Maaaaaaaaaaybe the Magikoopas...? I just remember the Iron Cleft bros being surprised when they got hurt by the Yoshi's gulp, which made me think it was one of the first times they actually got hurt like that. BOWSER LOSING TO THAT IS HILARIOUS.
My theory about the Iron Clefts is that they're fairly new to the Glitz Pit, and for whatever reason, weren't meeting Grubba's conditions after they hit the majors, which is why they were unable to advance. And my theory about _that_ is that they're kind of like Tonpa from Hunter x Hunter - they don't really care about advancing, just crushing the dreams of rookies.
@@zoomzike The real reason the Cleft Bros. couldn't advance further is their next opponent is the Tiny Spinies. Red Spike Tops have 4 DEF, while the Iron Clefts have 4 ATK. They literally cannot do any damage at all to the Tiny Spinies. Also, even if the Spinies beat the Poker Faces, Bristles also have 4 DEF, so the Iron Clefts still cannot do anything to them.

Small bit of trivia about the red bones enemy,in the japanese version his name is "Bloody dull bones" thats why he has that red coloring. So yeah, Paper Mario TTYD is the only mario game so far with blood
@@zoomzike the japanese version of this game is dark,heck there is one room in Rogueport with a chalked outline of a toad and blood splatterd all over the floor, and no i'm not kidding. And thats something i like with the paper mario games they try and see how much they can push dark or scary stuff with mario
Early Kirby games are known to have blood too, up to Kirby 64 when you fight 02, you have to shoot crystal shards at its eye, and it bleeds upon impact O_O

Bulky Bomb-Ombs and their family always follow the same attack pattern, so if there's only enemy type out I like to spam Sweet Treat and appeal until they're ready to blow and then hide with Vivian.

I like the first-person perspective taken into account here. And of course, amazing work on the bestiary itself too! Edit: please someone let me see Gloomtail and Bowser being defeated by Showstopper. That would be a stylish way to win a fight.
@@zoomzike You do realize that if you are going to do a Sticker Star or Color Splash Bestiary you WILL have yo play those "games" right? Also I understand the times on the right side with the colored dots they tell when the next enemy log is showing up. But what is the left time for? It does not match up. This is not a problem with the video but the confuses me.
Just caught this, this isn't really an error at all but something that I think could be overlooked; Clefts (just normal clefts) can be found as early as Petal Meadows. If you fail the trivia challenge from the Thwomp, he sends a group of them a you! Bring an extra POW block from the shop for some extra easy star points. Personally I do this every run just because I think it's funny.
It is pretty sad we went from figthting Bowser, to a demonic version of Peach, to a veeeery demonic version of Luigi, back to Bowser, then an eviler form of Bowser. Like i get that Bowser is the Big Bad of the series but I really wish the RPGs have a more unique final boss instead of a form of Bowser each and every time. Partners in Time could've ended with Elder Princess Shroob but just had to throw a random fight with Bowser at the end just before the credits.
The reason the Pokey's "Ranged Attack" Supergaurds for damage is because, like most melee attacks, the enemy is technically charging at you with it's body and therefore it acts as a physical attack.
The reason the Iron Clefts can't make it to the championship is because the Red Spike Tops in the next rank have too much defense (4) for their 4 attack to actually pierce, and they have no way to force the beetles on their backs.
@@zoomzike Completely agree. I personally never played sticker star or color splash, but Oragami's battle style could prove engaging. Seriously though, I could not reccomend Bug Fables enough if you want a genuinely engaging Paper Mario game.
You actually cant lose the first battle against Lord Crump. If you fall below 5 HP before the battle (by repeatedly falling in the water and getting bit by nibbles) you'll start off the battle with 5 HP. Lord Crump can cause 1 HP of damage up to 4 times so you'll have at least 1 HP at the end of the battle.
Hey ZoomZike, thanks for yet another great video and for one of my favorite games of all time: Paper Mario TTYD. Amazy Dayzees are a pain, to both find and defeat, but the payoff is SO worth it. One way I defeated the Amazy Dayzee (but I only would do it to prepare for the Pit of 100 Trials, not for the main game) is to use Rally Wink give Mario two turns, use one of them to jump to put the Amazy Dayzee's HP 15 or less, and then use the Supernova to finish it off. I'm sure that this isn't the most ideal way to defeat the Amazy Dayzee, but it's one that worked for me during my playthrough. But enough of that, see you in the next video, ZoomZike.
@@zoomzike No problem, man. And thank you for replying. I'm happy to share some facts about one of my favorite games. Couple of other facts if you want to hear (you might know them already so sorry if this is treading on old territory): You can't level up twice in one battle since the max Star Points you can earn is 100. The game programmed this in case you beat multiple Amazy Dayzees at lower levels or if you get lucky with Merlee and get the charm that doubles Star Points. The Happy Lucky Lottery is rigged since there is a timer within the GameCube that starts once you buy a ticket. This means that you will get all 4 prizes eventually, but it will take literally about one year. If you try to cheat or you buy a new ticket, the timer resets. Supernova in battles (if you get an "Excellent") will always do 15 Damage to all enemies (except Iron Cleft Red and Green) so that's why there are great against Amazy Dayzees since you only have 5 HP left to worry about (which can be dealt with by Vivian's Fiery Jinx or Koops' Shell Slam since they target all enemies, just ground enemies for Koops, and can pierce defenses). Only problem is that you get this ability when you are literally about to beat the game and besides fighting multiple Amazy Dayzees or tougher enemies in the Pit of 100 Trials, this move is sort of situational. Sure it deals a lot of damage, but a good Power Lift along with Badges Buffs or Abilities serve better purposes in long term battles since it only costs 3 SP as opposed to Supernova's whopping 6 SP. And that's it from me. Sorry for the long comment. I figured out Amazy Dayzee strategies on my own through experimentation, but the other two I had to do research on, one of which (the lottery) has a whole video dedicated to it by some UA-camr called Stryder7x. I remember the first time i fight the shadow queen, i have already used my last life shroom, she was going to do dark wave that turn and no healing items, vivian was dead and i was going to die, then the miracle happen, I SUPER GUARD DARK WAVE, i am not good doing super guard and i did it, it was epic, i have won the final battle

I think i found some errors In 58:52 Z-Yux has the move of moon cleft (charge) Z-yux also has is moves on the location spot in the same minute In 19:48 you say flurie's gale force can blow him away yet in the text says it has a 0% chance on working In 54:40 you say you can jump on them twice to flip them but in reality you will get hurt by the spike and you will not damage the spikey parabuzy (unless you use iron boots) And thats all the errors i can find if there are more errors i didnt notice please respond me. also great video keep the good work
showstopper is a 1% gloomtail and 5% on the shadow sirens + doopliss in the rematch?? i never even realized you could use showstopper at all and have it work during these _bosses?_ i guess i just assumed it never worked on bosses, and also... they have that stat without even being able to rematch them????? since you don't have showstopper until post-chapter 6 (without sequence breaks) regardless? this is really interesting, i have yet to see a video showcasing the effects of showstoppers on these bosses :O Edit: Grodus is 1% and Bowser + Kammy Koopa are also 5% each?? what is this game that i love so much??

It looks very interesting, and I'm curious on how the plot and/or world building will work. As of right now, the world looks way more unique than the previous two installments, and the battle system is a lot better than those same installments. Here's hoping!

You don't even need to Superguard Gus. I only really started Superguarding when I played Book of Mario, but on all my other playthroughs, I just regular Guarded and used Goombella as a meat shield.
God, I feel so bad for the audience members who die. Can you imagine being so hyped up to see a Mario battle, cheer him on and BAM you get eaten or your soul sucked out by the boss. :(

I know this is probably and unpopular opinion, I would be super hyped if you were to ever make a SPM bestiary. I think that it has some of the most unique enemies and locations from the entire series, and almost every enemy has something unique about them, especially how they function differently between 2d and 3D mode.
When I first played TTYD (through an emulator lol,) I actually had the Attack FX badge that helped in the hooktail fight, but I had no idea it was the cricket badge because I didn't want to switch attack FX. I ended up sticking it through without.
2:30 in and I dropped the like and sub for you. The sheer love and effort put into this is simply amazing and am already thankful to experience it. Looking forward to explore your other content.
This is incredibly useful and seems like something I would have done if someone else hadn't already done it! I'm currently using this as a reference to create a TTYD proxy set for Magic the Gathering. Thanks for the effort put into this, and the Paper Mario 1 Bestiary as well. I'm certain when I expand my proxy set to include Paper Mario 1, I'll be using that as a resource as well.
This was a pretty cool sequel to the original Paper Mario bestiary, I do enjoy these kinds of videos. If you ever do another in the future, I hope its the one from Bug Fables as that has a cool collection of creative creatures that crawl the caves and canyons of the kingdom.

Bulky Bomb-Ombs and their family always follow the same attack pattern, so if there's only enemy type out I like to spam Sweet Treat and appeal until they're ready to blow and then hide with Vivian.

Just caught this, this isn't really an error at all but something that I think could be overlooked;
Clefts (just normal clefts) can be found as early as Petal Meadows. If you fail the trivia challenge from the Thwomp, he sends a group of them a you! Bring an extra POW block from the shop for some extra easy star points.
Personally I do this every run just because I think it's funny.

It is pretty sad we went from figthting Bowser, to a demonic version of Peach, to a veeeery demonic version of Luigi, back to Bowser, then an eviler form of Bowser. Like i get that Bowser is the Big Bad of the series but I really wish the RPGs have a more unique final boss instead of a form of Bowser each and every time. Partners in Time could've ended with Elder Princess Shroob but just had to throw a random fight with Bowser at the end just before the credits.

The reason the Pokey's "Ranged Attack" Supergaurds for damage is because, like most melee attacks, the enemy is technically charging at you with it's body and therefore it acts as a physical attack.
The reason the Iron Clefts can't make it to the championship is because the Red Spike Tops in the next rank have too much defense (4) for their 4 attack to actually pierce, and they have no way to force the beetles on their backs.

You actually cant lose the first battle against Lord Crump. If you fall below 5 HP before the battle (by repeatedly falling in the water and getting bit by nibbles) you'll start off the battle with 5 HP. Lord Crump can cause 1 HP of damage up to 4 times so you'll have at least 1 HP at the end of the battle.
I actually remembered that mid-editing and had to test that before I said what I said! Good catch.
Hey ZoomZike, thanks for yet another great video and for one of my favorite games of all time: Paper Mario TTYD. Amazy Dayzees are a pain, to both find and defeat, but the payoff is SO worth it. One way I defeated the Amazy Dayzee (but I only would do it to prepare for the Pit of 100 Trials, not for the main game) is to use Rally Wink give Mario two turns, use one of them to jump to put the Amazy Dayzee's HP 15 or less, and then use the Supernova to finish it off. I'm sure that this isn't the most ideal way to defeat the Amazy Dayzee, but it's one that worked for me during my playthrough.

@@zoomzike No problem, man. And thank you for replying. I'm happy to share some facts about one of my favorite games. Couple of other facts if you want to hear (you might know them already so sorry if this is treading on old territory):
You can't level up twice in one battle since the max Star Points you can earn is 100. The game programmed this in case you beat multiple Amazy Dayzees at lower levels or if you get lucky with Merlee and get the charm that doubles Star Points.
The Happy Lucky Lottery is rigged since there is a timer within the GameCube that starts once you buy a ticket. This means that you will get all 4 prizes eventually, but it will take literally about one year. If you try to cheat or you buy a new ticket, the timer resets.
Supernova in battles (if you get an "Excellent") will always do 15 Damage to all enemies (except Iron Cleft Red and Green) so that's why there are great against Amazy Dayzees since you only have 5 HP left to worry about (which can be dealt with by Vivian's Fiery Jinx or Koops' Shell Slam since they target all enemies, just ground enemies for Koops, and can pierce defenses). Only problem is that you get this ability when you are literally about to beat the game and besides fighting multiple Amazy Dayzees or tougher enemies in the Pit of 100 Trials, this move is sort of situational. Sure it deals a lot of damage, but a good Power Lift along with Badges Buffs or Abilities serve better purposes in long term battles since it only costs 3 SP as opposed to Supernova's whopping 6 SP.
And that's it from me. Sorry for the long comment. I figured out Amazy Dayzee strategies on my own through experimentation, but the other two I had to do research on, one of which (the lottery) has a whole video dedicated to it by some UA-camr called Stryder7x. I remember the first time i fight the shadow queen, i have already used my last life shroom, she was going to do dark wave that turn and no healing items, vivian was dead and i was going to die, then the miracle happen, I SUPER GUARD DARK WAVE, i am not good doing super guard and i did it, it was epic, i have won the final battle

I think i found some errors
In 58:52 Z-Yux has the move of moon cleft (charge)
Z-yux also has is moves on the location spot in the same minute
In 19:48 you say flurie's gale force can blow him away yet in the text says it has a 0% chance on working
In 54:40 you say you can jump on them twice to flip them but in reality you will get hurt by the spike and you will not damage the spikey parabuzy (unless you use iron boots)
And thats all the errors i can find if there are more errors i didnt notice please respond me.

showstopper is a 1% gloomtail and 5% on the shadow sirens + doopliss in the rematch?? i never even realized you could use showstopper at all and have it work during these _bosses?_ i guess i just assumed it never worked on bosses, and also... they have that stat without even being able to rematch them????? since you don't have showstopper until post-chapter 6 (without sequence breaks) regardless? this is really interesting, i have yet to see a video showcasing the effects of showstoppers on these bosses :O Edit: Grodus is 1% and Bowser + Kammy Koopa are also 5% each?? what is this game that i love so much??

You don't even need to Superguard Gus. I only really started Superguarding when I played Book of Mario, but on all my other playthroughs, I just regular Guarded and used Goombella as a meat shield.

I know this is probably and unpopular opinion, I would be super hyped if you were to ever make a SPM bestiary. I think that it has some of the most unique enemies and locations from the entire series, and almost every enemy has something unique about them, especially how they function differently between 2d and 3D mode.

When I first played TTYD (through an emulator lol,) I actually had the Attack FX badge that helped in the hooktail fight, but I had no idea it was the cricket badge because I didn't want to switch attack FX. I ended up sticking it through without.
2:30 in and I dropped the like and sub for you. The sheer love and effort put into this is simply amazing and am already thankful to experience it. Looking forward to explore your other content.
