People who disliked this video clearly rather waste their money on buying new unit or not skilled enough to complete this mod. Great video and I'm gonna sign my unit up for this. Cheers!
mk3whitewide yes I might be able to install this but I’d rather not brake my stock radio this is worth 200+ and would be better to buy a isimple device
You are right. If bluetooth player costs x € you would still have to "waste" your time in the work to get that amount of money. Sorry, I gotta go to play some Fortnite ➡️
I was trying to do this to my stereo a few years ago but was too lazy to find all the inputs and so on. I ended up having to hack the steering wheel transport controls anyway to make them work with my new head unit. Im glad I bought the new head unit though since it plays music from USB and I only need to use the bluetooth for calls the new stereo also came with hard wired hands-free. This is a very useful video though and I am thinking of making a similar one on the hacking of steering wheel controls.
2004 Subaru, 70,00 ks and no USB Bluetooth and with a replacement kit for the stereo system being 1800 dollars this looks to be the solution to keeping the original Subaru system. Thanks for taking the time to share the clip.
There's a practical argument to make for adding Bluetooth if the radio of yours is a favorite or plays cassettes, you don't have the deep pockets to buy it all that music digitally or you don't have the time to rip them to mp3, ogg-vorbis or whatever your favorite digital format is. Great work!I added Bluetooth to many old stuff! My favorite thing is adding Bluetooth fm modules to old tube radios that cant receive anything but their amplifiers still work.
Darieee you are a genius. Thanks for doing this video. I just fitted Bluetooth to my daughter's Nissan pulsar stereo and it works thanks to your instructions and links. Now I've got 5 other car to do. I look like a genius.I'm
A few years ago I wanted to replace my e46's stock radio-TAPE but I was suposed to buy a "Standard Radio Frame" from $$$ BMW $$$... In the end, I converted the original to a Radio-Tape-BL (3 function) while the BOM was even cheaper: 5$ for the (cheapest I could find back then) bluetooth speaker to dismantle 0.5$ 1x 7805 ~0$ : 1x 1N4148 + 2x 33Ko I'm using it on a daily basis so it worth every second, Waste of Time my a$$.
The "standard radio frame" for the e46 is 5 to 10$. The problem is, aftermarket stereos look like ass in the e46's dashboard. I went with a simpler mod - I created an "aux in" by dismantling the tape drive inside the stereo, removed the read head, added filter capacitors and tiny resistors and soldered a wire with a jack to where the tape drive's head was. Then I jammed the tape drawer to fool the drive into thinking there's a tape in the stereo and done. When selecting the cassette player, I can use the jack to get quality audio via aux in. Then i got bored of that not being able to switch tracks using the steering wheel buttons, and got a Dension Gateway Lite adapter witch provides a USB port, works with the steering wheel controls, and can display track information on the stereo's display. It cost ~90$. Then I got bored of that and installed an aftermarket 2 din nav system witch looks identical to the car's original navigation, but has a touchscreen and android 8.0. It was expensive to do (270$ for the unit and another 100$ for a new ashtray holder to move the climate control down one slot) but it's so worth it. I have mp3 (via 2 usb ports or two sd card slots), video, DVD player, navigation via google maps or igo, Torque for scanning codes, youtube, a reverse camera and much more. I even put a NES emulator on it for kicks. Worth the 370$.
Thank you sooo much for the video! And nevermind the haters. My Renault had the exact same stereo and I wanted so badly to add Bluetooth to it but I wasn't very knowledgeable about ICs and stuff to figure out where the audio input should go. Following your instructions now I have a revived stereo.
This is best for a car where the hvac is built into the radio making it impossible to replace the radio. I.E. i did something similar in my 2008 Lexus is250. This car is just old enough to not have Bluetooth. It worked great, but if you don't know what is what you'll have to read a lot. I have some experience so it was easy for me to do.
This is a great video. It may be a lot of work but this is a great mod if you live in an area where aftermarket radios are stolen. Even if an aftermarket is cheap crooks will still steal it and sell it.
My AUX port was damaged since last 2 years. Yesterday I visited a local repair centre and the guy suggested to install BT module in addition to AUX repair. He added BT module on my Nippon stereo some what in same way. I am very happy to see BT working on my 12 year old car in just 12 USD (850 INR)
Super videos for the DIY! Much credit. For the NON-DIY, A decent Bluetooth to FM transmitter is 11$. I've found them at 5 below and dollar stores 1$. No radio disassembly or reinstall required. No tools to buy, Can run off batteries, fuse box, usb, cigarette socket, etc.
nice soldering iron , one of the best on the market and one of the last quality products 100% made in Romania. I think this model is from 1970 and still rocks on!
Sure does - bought myself 2 just in case the company making them does get stolen away too Does need a dimmer though, otherwise, you'll eat away your copper in a few hours
To have this man as a teacher i would not pass the class. But I would assume that would have been his goal. What a real difficult person to listen to for a second his way of communicating is unusual to our language I think.
And for future references this world is big enough for the both of us to keep distance no need in having hateful intent this world is big but time is not that long.
dimitris kaloupis I do not own a Porsche because I am rich. I own my Porsche because I am cheap....lol. But I enjoy learning and testing new things out. The Bluetooth modules cost up to 500. For that price, I rather purchase a new stereo. Plus, I had my car broken in before. So, I would like to keep it look stock.
I live in Silicon Valley and as a child worked as a car stereo installer. Blaupunkt was the good stuff back then. I assume it's still very good. lol Just brought back some memories.
They're quite 'meh' these days .. this radio is okay quality wise, but after 5 years the buttons and encoder don't feel too good .. They make decent stuff for a reasonable price though
A 55Ah battery drained with 50mA is empty after 46 days, not 114 years. And you shouldn't completely drain a car battery anyway. So let's say we can safely take out 30Ah, and the car electrical system also drains 50mA, then we're already down to 12,5 days, less than two weeks...
This is perfect because buying a unit is a good solution but it really does not fit the style of the rest of the car. This keeps that same look but with an upgrade.
Hi sir do you prefer the same CSR8645 module for wireless bluetooth headphone? Or is there any different and better one? Thank you and appreciate if replied.
Thanks for the video and keep up the good work for the haters I have old car I am restoring right now it's already have aftermarket headunit I replaced it for the original old stereo and I want bluetooth feature to be in it, so this video helped me
Great video, but a fair amount of work, the reason people are saying just buy a new unit is because a new unit does Everything & this is more work than buying a new stereo & fitting it.
In my opinion these older more OEM stereos are much better, they don't blind you at night! I had the aux version of this stereo but it went in a car I scrapped :(
You could buy a Radio Adapter - buying a non-bluetooth one should help with getting as clean a radio signal as possible. Here's some on amazon amzn.to/2snA9ot
man, just call them on thursday, they got that call in request hour, you could request "Emit Silence" they will probably play it for you as long as it's not got cussing in it
Some people just like doing this stuff, like me. I'm in for such a project. Specially since it's not one of those dumb "discard your CD drive, NO ONE USEZ ITT" stuff, people who knows how to do this kind of stuff are in for a weekend project. This is the kind response, I could also just say "GIT GUD" too.
just curious, do you get enough antenna signal when you close the radio: there is a faraday cage around the bluetooth module, and the range must be quite zero ? shouldn"t you put the bluetooth module OUTSIDE of the radio ?
yeah, you would've thought so ... but no, it works perfectly (bluetooth 4.0 is pretty awesome in that regard) - the front of the cage where the front panel is is "open" though in my case
Great job! I have a question, Did you get a good range installing the module inside the chasis? I'm planning on doing it on my '03 Pilot which comes with CD and cassette players, using the cassette input, I'll trick the cassette player I guess. This factory stereo has great sound and sub-woofer.
Inside the car, outside of metal cans there's nothing one can do and nowhere you can put the phone to make it lose signal; Man that radio looks like a f'cking tank, none a this "modern" bullshit lights and crap, good luck ! Let us know if it worked out !
I hate it when people don't know how to provide positive constructive criticism. Use the sandwich technique: Good, constructive, good. E.G I'm glad you provided this video with constructive criticism and insight to what the audience would appreciate from the poster. Take a communications course. I'm sure you will improve in this area if you considered the advice I supplied.
Some folks enjoy to make little things with their own hands no matter if that thing cost a penny, others enjoy going to the store to buy the same thing and then continuing with their boring life.
My radio does not have a "processing unit" neither a micro controller or a "audio switch board/chip" or a CD-input . It's from 1957. It's not even Stereo. Will it work?
I installed a cheap Chinese car play with with bluetooth but caused TPMS errors. Do you know what caused TPMS error? Can it be the bluetooth module? They have different bandwidth, don't they?
Nice Way to upgrade your factory radio and because i´m not a genius i did it the dumb way and bought a radio transmitter with bluetooth for 17 bucks. Works surprisingly perfect.
+Ferdinand Autermann hmm, must live in a quiet area .. I get a shit ton of interference when using a ~20 aukey one (didn't yet dare tear down my dad's car :-s)
nice video just bought myself a bluetooth module for my car which does not have a aux input so thanks for this will follow your video as im fitting mine
+Ottawh I've done 3 videos on renaming, setting the equaliser, and disabling the microphone of these chips, feel free to find them on my channel [I think you'll need a newer version of some of the programs : comment on the specific video you need and I'll see what I used for the 70][the renaming should work just fine in any case if that's what you're after]
Let us know how it turns out ! To be honest I mainly did it because of the aesthetics - really hate the blingy piece of shit new stereos nowadays Even if I would have bought a new one, this one would've gotten resold, they still fetch quite a price on ebay
if u have problems with the voltage regualtor to work, solder a 100nf capaitor close to input and output, many cheap alternatives to lm7805 dont work well without these caps
Want to incorporate into my neighbors 74 corvette which has the original radio. How or can this CSR8645 BT unit be added to this radio (only unit) by independently switching the BT unit on/off (external switch) and connect somewhere in the audio circuit to pick up the amplified speakers? Where can I find internal schematic of this Delco radio? May be an old video but I fully understand the the technique used. Thought it was great.
nice video! Im wondering if you can help me with my issue. I had purchased a panasonic cq vx5500 head unit off ebay and was told there was a bluetooth module in the Aux input. after installing the head unit, i attempt to connect to the bluetooth, however the signal drops and i have to reconnect again. what might cause this issue? i dont know if its related but it coincidentally happens when i turn the volume up. thats where it happens the most
Mmm, no idea ... I can look it up in about 3 weeks if you really need it It's an original dacia logan or dacia sandero radio... 2011 or prior or maybe even earlier Paid around 60€ for mine at the time
Thanks for interesting content. It is not about to do this project or buy a new cheap radio with bluetooth. It is about a little fun project you can do and learn electronics and grow your skills. Many thumbs up Darieee.
Thanks man ! I'm glad you enjoyed it I'd also say it's about the cool-factor of having a stock radio that secretly has bluetooth - I feel quite awesome knowing that Do check the other mods I've done on radios if this kind of thing floats your boat :)
Hey buddy, So I have a few questions if you can spare the time? I have been looking into the 12V dc version of this you linked to and noticed that it has a microphone input as well. Do you think that the microphone input would need to be self amplified before it reached the PCB? or would it be fine? also, any concerns regarding the length of the cable I use for it? I am hoping to place it just above the rear-view mirror. My Mitsubishi has a functional aux port that I can interface with (I already use it for a 3.5mm jack input aux) So I think the rest of my install should be easy enough. Cheers in advance!
Hey there .. You needn't amplify the microphone - the CSR chip has all of the mic biasing and whatnot taken care of. Regarding the cable - I would assume a coax cable would be better (find the thickest VGA cable, tear it down, and that should give you 3 or 4 relatively thin coax cables). To be honest I've never tried hooking a microphone to one of these because iPhones seem to never perform any echo-cancellation on bluetooth devices, so ... yeah, for me it's a no go. Barry (barryllewellyndesign.com) did confirm that the mic does work surprisingly well (though results may vary with a longer cable - especially unshielded). Do let me know how it works (and with what) if you do decide to try it out, am quite curious myslef
Darieee nice one mate, I will order the parts and keep you posted. I'm thinking if I tear down one of those clip on mics it may be ease enough with minimal messing about.
Finally got off my arse and got it sorted. It works great! I ended up wiring a female 3.5mm jack into it so I could experiment with different mic's but it works great. Thanks again pal!
how's the car noise affecting the call ? Does the other person hear an echo though ? (in case no: what phone are you using ??) No worries, glad I could help :D
Hah! I was thinking to buy an cd changer emulator for my original stereo in my car (seems to be the only way to enable the audio input to hook up some kind of player, phone or whatever) but that costed me kind of a lot.. Never thought about a "silent CD". For sure this is the path I will take! Thanks for sharing the idea! :))
Hi buddy. I have an old tape recorder. Same brand. There is only CD, the radio is playing. We are also the same chip holder. I could not find the audio outputs for this card. What should I do?
Hey thanks for this video! I tried to change the radio on my car but it's a pain in the ass and costs too much money, I would rather do it myself. The instructions are great but do you have any hints on where to find the data sheet for a VW radio?
I love the video. I have bought an aux Bluetooth adapter for a RNS310. Do you know if I could connect the power to the + and ground of the RNS310 destined for the CD changer? Or should I find another source of + and use the radio unit's case for ground?
Oh, how useful this video is for beginners! Can you tell, what capacitor did you used? How i need to choose the right one if i’ll be using this scheme?
@@Darieee Thanks a lot! Going to order some stuff and begin my little project. Although my nissan altima 2005 radio is a “little” bigger, but i hope it will be ok) Thank you veery much, really useful and good video!
Hello, I do have an Kebidu Bluethoth, mp3, USB player. I have a player that I want to connect to the Blaupunkt radio CD. I would like to remove the CD drive and continue to use the radio and mp3 module. I don't know where I have to connect the ACC related to the mp3 module so that I can switch from the radio mode to the so-called CD mode but the mp3 module works. I assume that the audio signal coming out of the mp3 module must be connected exactly as shown in the video. Or do I probably need to connect to other pins?
Very good video and really helpful. Congrats for this guide. Is there any way to connect the bluetooth chip to a PC and configure it? Like rename it or anything else? Thanks again.
Ok, let me get this straight. The Bluetooth module needs power, so VCC needs 5v and a common ground which is chassis ground? The outputs on the BLT module Audio Left and Audio Right and Audio Ground. So you are connecting the outputs of the Bluetooth module to the inputs on the IC chip for the CD changer input and the audio ground is supposed to be a floating ground or chassis ground? This part was really confusing for me. I watched it over and over. You ended up connecting the audio ground to chassis ground but I'm not really sure why. As for the VCC needing 5v, you have 12v DC coming into the radio and you needed a voltage regulator to convert it to 5v, that part i get. Then you found 12v switched somewhere on the harness and connected your power to the voltage regulator input to a switched input so you don't drain the battery with a constant 12v. So, since my radio has AUX in that i never use, I suppose i can output the bluetooth module to the inputs for that and have bluetooth if i can figure out the grounds. Sweet!
Hi, really great video, I was able to learn from it what to do so that it works on my own radio unit. I think it's very nice that I'm not the only one who wants to keep the contemporary look of the radio in the car. But I have a question: Well, it worked and I was able to bring in the bluetooth signal via the cassette connection to the speaker of my car. But I have a lot of interference noise. Do you have any ideas where the noise could come from? Thanks a lot
Hi, I would like to put bluetooth into my OEM radio unit and I have a budget of around 20 euro. Would you still recommend the CSR8645 module, or is there a better alternative now? I'd also want to attach a microphone if that's possible
@@Darieee So I installed a slightly different module (csr8630) as it was the only available locally. I have one problem though and that is that only static noise comes from my car speakers. I've hooked up the module to a 5V buck converter and that is connected to where my tape motor was. When I hooked the Bluetooth module to my power bank, I got music playing through my speakers. I'm not a pro in this field, but from my research it could be ground loop or some other unwanted interference from the radio?
@@Darieee so replacing the buck converter with an isolated dc converter worked, but now I have a different issue. When I connect the channels to where the cassette pins were (to preamp and eq amp), the audio is overbassed and has low quality. When I skip this amp package and connect further, the audio is tiny (basically non-amplified). I've tried putting rezistors from 100k to 5.1M to the amp inputs but the audio was still shit regardless. I'm a little lost now and I'm not sure how I should tackle this
Is it possible to install BT by removing the CD mechanism and of course circuit and by inserting BT Audio R +L to audio switching/audio processor chip ? I'm trying this in Kenwood KDS MP-333V car stereo. I've already installed it by disabling AM radio and inserting BT audio R+L combined, to the tuner input of the radio chip. For switching FM and BT audio I've used spdt relay.
I'm working on it ... all buttons are multiplexed - so I'd need a microcontroller to interface the two - and /a metric shit-ton of time/ to debug it and make sure it will work perfectly .. which is kind of the minimum you'd want for a NEXT button
Say you want to hijack the CD Changer functionality of an OEM stereo. However, the CD Changer itself is long gone... if there's no CD in the changer, the radio produces an Error. Any idea what the method would be to trick the stereo into thinking it has a CD? i.e. skip the silent CD portion
I think burning some fake "song" you know... like just some complete silence for 24 hours in the form of MP3 and then burning it to the CD should do the job.
Maybe I missed it in the vid... silent CD? So, you have to put in a blank CD? Also, how do you pair to this device with no usable interface on the radio? How would the Bluetooth know you are attempting to cast to it?
Yeah, a blank cd with a silent track on it At powerup the bt adapter attempts to connect to the last paired device - if that fails, it becomes discoverable, then you can pair to it Volume on its end in maximum by default, so max on the phone is the max it can put out into the radio
Cordialmente Marco.
Thnx for the video. I also have a bluetooth chip like this, but without the adaptor plate, only the blue chip and im trying to figure out how to put it on an amplifier, without dc converters. Amplifier is running at 29vdc. Do you think i can connect it on the legs of an LED? Its a 3.3V version
Thats an awesome modification bro, I like this tutorial, you are amazing , and I need to ask you one question , if we need to add the Aux pin to the car stereo instead of the bluetooth , should we do the same thing? I mean should we connect the Aux wires to the same audio's pins in the audio module?

A few years ago I wanted to replace my e46's stock radio-TAPE but I was suposed to buy a "Standard Radio Frame" from $$$ BMW $$$...
In the end, I converted the original to a Radio-Tape-BL (3 function) while the BOM was even cheaper:
5$ for the (cheapest I could find back then) bluetooth speaker to dismantle
0.5$ 1x 7805
~0$ : 1x 1N4148 + 2x 33Ko

It was expensive to do (270$ for the unit and another 100$ for a new ashtray holder to move the climate control down one slot) but it's so worth it. I have mp3 (via 2 usb ports or two sd card slots), video, DVD player, navigation via google maps or igo, Torque for scanning codes, youtube, a reverse camera and much more. I even put a NES emulator on it for kicks. Worth the 370$.
Dude where you live I want your help with my 2008 Corolla S ?
Thank you sooo much for the video! And nevermind the haters. My Renault had the exact same stereo and I wanted so badly to add Bluetooth to it but I wasn't very knowledgeable about ICs and stuff to figure out where the audio input should go. Following your instructions now I have a revived stereo.
glad I could help ❤️
This is best for a car where the hvac is built into the radio making it impossible to replace the radio. I.E. i did something similar in my 2008 Lexus is250. This car is just old enough to not have Bluetooth. It worked great, but if you don't know what is what you'll have to read a lot. I have some experience so it was easy for me to do.
What Bluetooth chip/module did you use ?
Darieee this one. www.sparkfun.com/products/11678
Dayum, must've been a lot of fun soldering to those edges
Does that have the 8645 inside ?
Darieee I wish I could tell you. The datasheet they have on the site is full of info though.
This is cool, but my brain doesn't work like this.
Keep it up my man.
🤣🤣🤣
This is a great video. It may be a lot of work but this is a great mod if you live in an area where aftermarket radios are stolen. Even if an aftermarket is cheap crooks will still steal it and sell it.
interesting viewpoint, and relevant.
You don’t always need to reprogram. I added the wires to my generic oem head unit and when a device was plugged in, the option was added to the menu.
Sweet, that's a pretty good price too
Great for factory radio if you don't want to replace it.
Precisely.
Good job
Super videos for the DIY! Much credit. For the NON-DIY, A decent Bluetooth to FM transmitter is 11$. I've found them at 5 below and dollar stores 1$. No radio disassembly or reinstall required. No tools to buy, Can run off batteries, fuse box, usb, cigarette socket, etc.
Yeah, that route does sound quite a bit worse though
I feel smarter after watching this
nice soldering iron , one of the best on the market and one of the last quality products 100% made in Romania. I think this model is from 1970 and still rocks on!
Sure does - bought myself 2 just in case the company making them does get stolen away too
Does need a dimmer though, otherwise, you'll eat away your copper in a few hours
Very useful considering some stock units are way to big to just be replaced with any other one
To have this man as a teacher i would not pass the class. But I would assume that would have been his goal. What a real difficult person to listen to for a second his way of communicating is unusual to our language I think.
WROOONG!
Do check my newer shit though, -- I still want you to flunk, but my diction has improved though
@@Darieee okay slide the link and.. I will go right over.
And for future references this world is big enough for the both of us to keep distance no need in having hateful intent this world is big but time is not that long.
yeah nah you totally misinterpreted what I said
Great work. My stupid porsche radio does not have bluetooth. It will cost me 600 to purchase a bluetooth. I am going to try this out.
+Pete N let us know how it turns out :D
Pete N you got a Porche and aint got 300 quid to install a proper bluetooth module? Get lost...
dimitris kaloupis
I do not own a Porsche because I am rich. I own my Porsche because I am cheap....lol. But I enjoy learning and testing new things out. The Bluetooth modules cost up to 500. For that price, I rather purchase a new stereo. Plus, I had my car broken in before. So, I would like to keep it look stock.
dimitris - don't you guys have some debt to pay off btw ? just askin' ?
Porsches are not that expensive.. Also it might be a hobby or something who are you to judge?
Yup, caught that also, and your math is right on.
Don' messed up on that one
Looks like this will save the old-school Sony in my Bronco that's been in that truck since I was an infant and the truck was my Dad's.
*"How to perform brain surgery for $12!"*
Seriously I don't know any way to connect these wires since I'm not an electronic engineer.
This is actually very useful, because that's the exact car radio model I have xD
Interesting soldering technique :P
You mean soldering small electronics with that firestick? - Quite impressive i must say!
Darieee - Or you go buy the right tool for the job and do the job right. You can get a 30-40W soldering iron for $10.
Mm, I did get a 70€ one like bigclive has - that's way too weak, and very cumbersome to set up on the table
Tor Arne Hustvedt or use one similar to Louis Rossmann
thank you man, i have the exact same radio youre showing in this video, youve helped me so much getting bluetooth in my factory one 🙏
This is perfect because buying a unit is a good solution but it really does not fit the style of the rest of the car. This keeps that same look but with an upgrade.
This is exactly what I'm looking into doing to my honda glad i found your vid
Outstanding tutorial....and um...yah!
Thanks man - I did mostly get rid of that tic too, so, newer videos should be less annoying
Hi sir do you prefer the same CSR8645 module for wireless bluetooth headphone? Or is there any different and better one?
Thank you and appreciate if replied.
interesting and informative, though you should have the camera at an angle where your head doesn't block the video so often
Thanks for the video and keep up the good work
for the haters I have old car I am restoring right now it's already have aftermarket headunit I replaced it for the original old stereo and I want bluetooth feature to be in it, so this video helped me
Thank you, greatly appreciated!
being an electrical engineering student I'm gonna do to my Merc tape audio player ... I really don't want swap out the stereo , thanks for the vid
Funfact, this radio actually HAS bluetooth
😆😆
Great video, but a fair amount of work, the reason people are saying just buy a new unit is because a new unit does Everything & this is more work than buying a new stereo & fitting it.
True that! And thanks
i have a problem here, i bought a second hand car with a bluetooth head unit, but i cant use it, i mean i cant detect it with any of my devices
did you like your own comment :)) ?
open it up and see what's what .. is it at least a name brand ?
piece of potato maybe it has an early version which is out of date so to speak
Try holding down the "Call" button.
Bluetooth module already ordered. Can't wait to tinker with my old car stereo :) tnx for the video
you're welcome :D
Si asa ai facut upgrade la Dacie.
Da sau nu :> ?
In my opinion these older more OEM stereos are much better, they don't blind you at night! I had the aux version of this stereo but it went in a car I scrapped :(
nice job, one cuestion, how can i create a radio station to emit silence?
You could buy a Radio Adapter - buying a non-bluetooth one should help with getting as clean a radio signal as possible. Here's some on amazon amzn.to/2snA9ot
Try smashing the radio sattion up in question
Just hold the button that says "Power" until you can't hear anything but silence
man, just call them on thursday, they got that call in request hour, you could request "Emit Silence" they will probably play it for you as long as it's not got cussing in it
Search via Tune to a all static station with the same on either side. If that is what you are asking.
This is great. I would like something like this in my 1987 car! very cool.
I drive a 1987 car 30,000 miles a year
And ehm....
JK. Great video
Very, very good description! And don’t worry about your diction, I appreciate German thoroughness!
$12 in material $11,000,000 in labor
exactly my thought, better to get a new one with flashy touch screen all all that crap ;)
yet everyone's here on this video xD
Or you know, just a guy with some skill and interest in electronics with the drive to do something cool.
Good practice
A really good, lot of work, to achieve far from perfect result.
+Dupy, Dziary, Muscle Cary. well, when life gives you lemons, what're you gonna do !? Thanks though :))
Darieee make a pie from them or lemoncrud
Great job!
I have a question,
Did you get a good range installing the module inside the chasis?
I'm planning on doing it on my '03 Pilot which comes with CD and cassette players, using the cassette input, I'll trick the cassette player I guess.
This factory stereo has great sound and sub-woofer.
Inside the car, outside of metal cans there's nothing one can do and nowhere you can put the phone to make it lose signal;
Man that radio looks like a f'cking tank, none a this "modern" bullshit lights and crap, good luck ! Let us know if it worked out !

thank you very much xD
GManGT its worth it if you have the skillset.
Roland Hatton I have the skillset, but you have to value your time versus just buying a readymade unit.
My radio does not have a "processing unit" neither a micro controller or a "audio switch board/chip" or a CD-input . It's from 1957. It's not even Stereo. Will it work?
Das Good.
I installed a cheap Chinese car play with with bluetooth but caused TPMS errors. Do you know what caused TPMS error? Can it be the bluetooth module? They have different bandwidth, don't they?
Ahh...ummm...ahhh
Had to give up on the video before a minute .. Man its annoying as hell !
Yeah, agreed - should be better in the newer videos
And cause you spoke up about it .. I will watch the rest of the video ;) Its a pet peave of mine, and yer, I do it as well a lot !!
Nah still, somehow I really overdid it in this one - the newer videos in the playlist are more concise and better narrated :D
Darieee I think it's where you're not completely used to talking in a video like to someone, it's something you have to get use to doing
Nice Way to upgrade your factory radio and because i´m not a genius i did it the dumb way and bought a radio transmitter with bluetooth for 17 bucks. Works surprisingly perfect.

Great job !
I have a question witch software do you use to programme the chip ? (for the CSR8670 the same i think)
+Ottawh I've done 3 videos on renaming, setting the equaliser, and disabling the microphone of these chips, feel free to find them on my channel [I think you'll need a newer version of some of the programs : comment on the specific video you need and I'll see what I used for the 70][the renaming should work just fine in any case if that's what you're after]
I could listen to your voice forever
I have an old clarion.best sound.will try your mod. Thanks for fighting against the throw away generation. goedendag
Let us know how it turns out !
To be honest I mainly did it because of the aesthetics - really hate the blingy piece of shit new stereos nowadays
Even if I would have bought a new one, this one would've gotten resold, they still fetch quite a price on ebay
if u have problems with the voltage regualtor to work, solder a 100nf capaitor close to input and output, many cheap alternatives to lm7805 dont work well without these caps
I had purchased a panasonic cq vx5500 head unit off ebay and was told there was a bluetooth module in the Aux input. after installing the head unit, i attempt to connect to the bluetooth, however the signal drops and i have to reconnect again. what might cause this issue? i dont know if its related but it coincidentally happens when i turn the volume up. thats where it happens the most
Hi! Thanks for sharing. Excellent description. Just a quick question: What model is that Blaupunkt? I really like the design of the front panel of it.
Mmm, no idea ... I can look it up in about 3 weeks if you really need it
It's an original dacia logan or dacia sandero radio... 2011 or prior or maybe even earlier
Paid around 60€ for mine at the time
@@Darieee Thanks! No worries, the Dacia lead gave results right away.
This video helped me because is just like on the dacia logan from 2007-2009 and i’ve got one
awesome - and, how's it work ?
Thanks for interesting content. It is not about to do this project or buy a new cheap radio with bluetooth. It is about a little fun project you can do and learn electronics and grow your skills. Many thumbs up Darieee.
Thanks man ! I'm glad you enjoyed it
I'd also say it's about the cool-factor of having a stock radio that secretly has bluetooth - I feel quite awesome knowing that
Do check the other mods I've done on radios if this kind of thing floats your boat :)
I'm thinking if I tear down one of those clip on mics it may be ease enough with minimal messing about.
yeah, sounds like a good idea !
Finally got off my arse and got it sorted. It works great! I ended up wiring a female 3.5mm jack into it so I could experiment with different mic's but it works great. Thanks again pal!
how's the car noise affecting the call ? Does the other person hear an echo though ? (in case no: what phone are you using ??)
No worries, glad I could help :D
Excellent man, really enjoyed watching your video and looking forward to more. Subscribed
glad you enjoyed it ! I'll be posting my 2nd iPod Hi Fi restoration video shortly :>, keep an eye out for that !
Awesome vid, bought a 12v off eBay like a year ago finally gonna try this now that my aux port wore out
Hi buddy. I have an old tape recorder. Same brand. There is only CD, the radio is playing. We are also the same chip holder. I could not find the audio outputs for this card. What should I do?
Im using your video to keep my stock radio. Thank you bro this is a HUGE help
glad to hear it :D
Hey thanks for this video! I tried to change the radio on my car but it's a pain in the ass and costs too much money, I would rather do it myself. The instructions are great but do you have any hints on where to find the data sheet for a VW radio?
sorry, no idea
just google the part numbers on the chips and write datasheet pdf afterwards
I love the video. I have bought an aux Bluetooth adapter for a RNS310. Do you know if I could connect the power to the + and ground of the RNS310 destined for the CD changer? Or should I find another source of + and use the radio unit's case for ground?
Oh, how useful this video is for beginners! Can you tell, what capacitor did you used? How i need to choose the right one if i’ll be using this scheme?
100uF 16v should be ok
just make sure to put it in the right polarity 🔥
@@Darieee Thanks a lot! Going to order some stuff and begin my little project. Although my nissan altima 2005 radio is a “little” bigger, but i hope it will be ok)
Thank you veery much, really useful and good video!
Glad it helped out - best of luck with your project 🤘🤘
Let me know how it turns out
Hello, I do have an Kebidu Bluethoth, mp3, USB player.
Thanks again.
yup - check my channel for qcc3008
Sweet!
Hi,
really great video, I was able to learn from it what to do so that it works on my own radio unit.
I'd also want to attach a microphone if that's possible
could go for a 5v csra64215 module; pretty much the same deal only a bit faster and the software works with windows 10
I'm not a pro in this field, but from my research it could be ground loop or some other unwanted interference from the radio?
yeah - either that or there is noise on the 5v line you're using
is your module isolated ?
@@Darieee It is not unfortunately. I'll try it with a dc/dc isolated converter a see how it goes
Have you managed to utilize some of the radios existing old buttons to operate the bluetooth board commands like play/pause or track control?
I'm working on it ...
all buttons are multiplexed - so I'd need a microcontroller to interface the two - and /a metric shit-ton of time/ to debug it and make sure it will work perfectly .. which is kind of the minimum you'd want for a NEXT button
In most BMW you can simply connect a 5$ Bluetooth adapter to AUX and use a 2$ 12->5V USB adapter with min. 0,5A to get it running :D
Yeah, a blank cd with a silent track on it
At powerup the bt adapter attempts to connect to the last paired device - if that fails, it becomes discoverable, then you can pair to it
Volume on its end in maximum by default, so max on the phone is the max it can put out into the radio
Darieee - ah, interesting. Not sure it would be worthwhile for me, but interesting. 👍
Its a 3.3V version
mmm, risky - you would need at least a 3.3v regulator
it also has differential audio outputs, not single ended (this should also be considered)
Thats an awesome modification bro, I like this tutorial, you are amazing , and I need to ask you one question , if we need to add the Aux pin to the car stereo instead of the bluetooth , should we do the same thing? I mean should we connect the Aux wires to the same audio's pins in the audio module?
