    So I personally think Ryu is a bit weaker in Season 2. I personally don't like how Medium and Heavy Shoryuken do the exact same damage and stun. Thanks for watching guys! Like, Comment, Share, or Subscribe. Happy New Years!

      he got nerfed from the devil himsel...... damn it capcom! whyyyyyy

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +3

      yeah i agree. after playing a few matches with him. Ryu is completely, and i hate to admit it, weaker than i thought. V-reversal is nerf hard. V-trigger is no longer a threat. it's just purely cosmetics. And worst of all His damage output just sucks ass with useless buffs.... I would rather play as "Dan Hibiki" than Ryu at this point.

    • @Huaiwen
      @Huaiwen 8 років тому +1

      like why the hell they they make his medium dp and hard dp do the same damage..... like wtf was that even for? jesus. and they nerf his best footsie normal, his standing short........

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +1

      You know what's even more sad. His medium Shoryuken is better than Heavy Shoryuken even though the damage is the same.....ending a Medium Shoryuken will leave Ryu at the advantage to follow up a meaty. And you can't use it half the time because it whiffs off from light hit confirms. and because Ryu has more push back on his lights....He has to end it with Heavy Shoryuken instead. And why is it that out of Akuma and Ken...He is the only shoto character with a Shoryuken damage nerf.....

    • @Huaiwen
      @Huaiwen 8 років тому +2

      seriously tho and honestly the only nerf ryu needs was his stand jab and throws. that is it! nothing else needs to be even touched........ he be fine but nope, they have to nerf him to the next millennial.

    Hi NurseLee,
    Wow! Haha!^_^ You look like me in some of those setups. I actually found a few of those during my first 3hrs. in season #2. As long as I'm able to edit video next month, I'll show you some of the setups I found that aren't demonstrated here. I innovated a concept during my first season that I know you'll like because you almost found it. Keep up the great work! With your setups, other Ryu setups, and my setups, we'll make Ryu great again!

      Thanks! and although i do think Ryu is some what weaker, however His pressure game is going to be more interesting. Now that his EX-Hadoukens are +2 on block, he can always been in your face. And his Medium Punch is a great button. Thanks for watching Kaizen and Happy New Years man!

      let's just say he link meaty combo into his Lion Breaker and Standing Heavy Punch from normals now.

  • @DJ_-fz5qi
    @DJ_-fz5qi 8 років тому +1

    Will you be doing anything with Nash? That b.MK buff gave him some crazy good meaty set ups.

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      yea i did find some good stuff. And he still had a great tech from season 1 that still can work in season 2. However, in season 2 now it's a bit trickery to use because they nerf his Sonic Scythe on hit, but it still possible to do.
      And what Nash can do is after a sonic scythe, he can meaty his Ex-Sonic Boom, which will cover "quick-rise and back-Rise" at the same time. Then if he has V-trigger ready, he can force the opponent to eat the mix up.
      I'll go more into depth once in the video is out.

    • @DJ_-fz5qi
      @DJ_-fz5qi 8 років тому

      Awesome! I did find the EX boom set up along with some other stuff from watching Yukadon replays. I am loving how they buffed his meaty pressure this season.
      Anyways, keep up the good work : )

    Can you show examples of the timing for meaty setups for normal rising?

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      smbehdjou are you asking the timing without whiffing normals?

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      smbehdjou quick-rising is normal rising. then back rise or no recocery.

    • @smbehdjou
      @smbehdjou 8 років тому +1

      Ok I see... I am asking for timing for meaty attacks when your opponent doesn't quick rise, so I assume that would be no recovery

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      I will cover Delay-Wakeup Options eventually with Ryu. However, there are still setups I still need to go over with normal-Rise and Back-Rise setups with Shoryuken, EX-Tatsuaki, EX-Fireball, Denjin-Hadouken and etc. After all of those setups are establish, then I'll create a video where we can use those setups and apply it for Delay-Wake up options.
      in other words, I'll make a video where I can try to help out for process of elimination on the wake-up game.

    Um... your number 1 quick-rise has it listed as a Lp, but you show a c.Lp?

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      Yeah and unfortunately i got the shots right, but my editing skills still need improvement. I keep having trouble translating the information because these shots are not done in one take, and after re-takes over and over again, it becomes muscle memory, and i keep neglecting the information. But hey! we all make mistakes from time to time. So sorry for the wrong information, but the setups what Ryu does are actually correct. Thanks for watching and take care man!

    Hi Nurselee,
    Great video on meaty setups really good job, but can you tell me a bit more about the back recovery setups? all of those are point blank sweep, im not sure about you, but i don't like to use sweep in my opponents face, I'm assuming not all of them work from every range? if so which ones?
    Shindoru

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +1

      The best Setup for Back-Rise Sweep is # 1. Dash into St.Mk will mostly work from all ranges and thanks to his Cr.MP having more range on the hit box. I was going to say that most of the back-rise were going to be" corner only", but it turns out Ryu can do those meatys from mid screen. Thanks for watching Shindoru and take care man!

      NurseLee awesome, can't wait to see what you come up with

  • @NKaldis
    @NKaldis 8 років тому

    Bit new to fighting games in general. Just wondering what is the purpose of the attacks you use that purposefully whiff. Is it purely to aid in the timing of the meaty? How feasible is it to successfully time a meaty without using the preliminary whiffing normal?

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +1

      So I'll try to keep it simple as possible. So yes whiffing those normal's will aid the attack to become Meaty. And these setup for Ryu are perfect; however, you must predict the opponents wake up to become an meaty attack, yet if you score a hard knockdown, then you are rewarded a guarantee setup.
      And manually timing the attack without whiffing can be tough depending on the character, and depending on the Frame data of the attack. and what your opponent decides to do on their wake up.
      Furthermore, Meaty attacks will dynamically change the frame advantage on hit and block. And you can stack it if it's a counter hit.
      For example, at Normal Rise Setup 3 Ryu's Standing Jab is +4 on hit and on Counter-Hit it's +6. Yet crouching MK is a 7 frame startup attack, yet some how combos.
      And it's because That Meaty Jab is actually +5 on hit, and since Counter-Hit properties reward +2 for any attack, it now becomes +7 instead.
      Sorry if I talk too much , but i hope i answer your question successfully. And if you have more, feel free to ask me more. Take care Darius M.

    • @NurseLee

    I like the idea, but who is going to use a sweep so close to the other char like this ?

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +1

      Luiz Abujamra Ryu doesn't have to hit confirm close. works in all ranges. thanks for watching and take care

    • @cheapgamer4228
      @cheapgamer4228 8 років тому +1

      If u hit far, dash won't come close enough to meaty, u will whiff

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому +1

      Yes some will indeed whiff, but not all. And that's why I suggest, players to practice and experiment. Ryu still has more setups with sweep.

    Nice content, I will practice some new meaty setups
    subscribed
    also one question, will you make some matchups video?
    for example, ryu vs Rog? =)
    I really don't know what should I do against fucking nigga
    actually I think Ryu can do nothing with him
    right now , I guess the best option for Ryu it's play very defensive and try keep close distance, anti air 100% jump in\out
    eutral , tech throws, and do not push buttons cuz opponent can score some lucky CC or whiff punish you (cuz their normal a way better than yours, and they can spam normal all day with benefit) , just wait some trash and punish it
    Even Nigga's dash punch can be punish if you'll block it from close distance
    Also nice trick is parry during block string and punish .
    Some people really don't like think during the match and do the same things over and over again (for example Cammy's cr MP cr MP blockstring), really deadbrain people. After first one cr. MP you can try parry second one and punish with cr. MK x EX Hadouken with follow up (meaty st. MP > follow up depending have you score counter hit or not)
    And when your opponent with his cheap character a little bit confuse (if you do everything good in defense), you can switch on offensive game for short period, after go back to defense.

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  7 років тому

      I probably will think about it, but what you describe for Ryu is one of the reasons why he is one of the weakest characters in the game. I personally feel that you cannot play the fundamentals with Ryu any more because of the changes in Season 2.
      Instead i feel that SFV Season 2 is all about the rushing down your opponent and putting them into 50/50 setups, and it overall becomes a one-sided game.

    Good players just use their eyes to meaty.

    • @NurseLee
      @NurseLee  8 років тому

      Yes that is true. Good players just use their eyes to meaty and that's should be everyone's goal. However, Just because Ryu is whiffing normals doesn't always have to opt for a meaty. thanks for watching and take care man!
