My PB largemouth came from a Carolina rigged bluegill head soaking on a channel slope in 25 feet of water while fishing for blue cats. It was only like 6lbs but it's the only bass I've ever caught on cutbait.

One of my favorite and most successful ways to catch largemouth I put a bluegill 3 or 4 in about four feet down beneath the barber so don't let us swim around you're almost guaranteed to catch a 3 or 4 lb Bass love it

What part of Guntersville are you fishing...if you dont mind disclosing? The millfoil/grass mats used to be pretty thick by now, in sections I use to fish. Only thing I really had an issue with bank fishing there(Scottsboro, Goose pond, Town Creek) part of the lake. Absolutely still fishableish....But the BS FACTOR was pretty high. No worries if you want to keep this location to yourself! Just curious as you dont seem to be reeling in with vegetation swamping your catches. Maybe deeper water near the bank? Where I fish NOW, 10 feet is just about how deep the "mats" will crowd the surface.

I believe flathead catfish are the best eating fish that swimms blue gills and crappie are good I keep everyone I catch you know fishing machine

Those flatheads sure do pull. We used to catch some big ones in Wilson Lake at night while smallmouth fishing. They would bite hair jigs almost as good as the bass would. Thanks Richard.
Rodney Yarbrough lol yep, here on Pickwick I've witnessed one or two rod and reels get pulled right out by them when someone wasn't watching their set up close enough.

Hey Bass Nazi... is Pickwick still big on smallmouth like it was in the late 80’s? We used to wear them out back then but I heard it has slowed down over the years. What says you? I haven’t fished it in a long time.
Rodney Yarbrough still some nice ones out near Wilson Dam' s tailwater. One thing I've always felt blessed about was growing up fishing there since you can literally catch all three in decent sizes. Apparently that's rare. Even catch some huge stripe there in late winter/early spring.
A show i watch on Fox Sports Outdoors Southeast every week, its uploaded on here too under Fox Sports Outdoors, just have to watch the southeast one for the fishing reports, featured Striper below Wilson Dam a few weeks back, all huge.

What would you be using for crappie off the bank right now?
10ft ultralight with a 1/32 oz jig head on 2lb test with a 1.5in blue ice Bobby garland. That’s just a guess.
Can do pretty good even casting if you use Roadrunner heads with any of the white colored Bobby Garlands like Holo Ghost or Monkey Milk. Usually can't do any better than using love minnows on them under a float though.
