A lot of people people needed to hear that. Thank you.
LOL ... LR has been one year away for eight years. 😂
As a USC fan, I’m probably the only one who agreed with Josh. I’ll carry this boat
I concur with you.
Fight On! 🥁
I also believe he is correct. PLUS: our biggest problem is the OL. SC only has one OL player from each of the last 3 recruiting classes by Helton. The lazy a$$ didn't recruit the final few years. One is Jonah Monheim, one is Mason Murphy, and one is Gino Quinones. From 3 recruiting classes we only got 1 real starter. Normally, those are your starters. And Riley's 'first' class is nonexistent because he was hired so late. So, we have one quality OL starter from 4 recruiting classes. Give Riley's, and Henson's, kiddos time to grow up.
Me too. People call it hate because they don't want to hear it. If its true it doesnt mean its hate. Keep up the great work Josh. ✌🏾
I will also join my brothern in agreeing with Josh. My concern is can he keep this coach staff together to finish a rebuild.
TY USC for taking Licoln Riley......That is their issue.
BOOMER!
ROW THE BOAT
USC didn’t hire him to “rebuild” after 3 years in…
What did they hire him for then? You can’t win now in a program that doesn’t have the tools to do that.
@@theewoodpce Got’em.
As an Oklahoma fan I thought it was absolutely Hilarious when Riley took Alex Grinch with him
Don’t forget. USC was 3 plays away from losing 8 games last year. 😂
This week was Fraud Exposure week. 11 USC, 10 Michigan, 9 Missouri. All of those teams are done for the year.
Bama 1 and Tennessee 5.
@@ericpollitt7910 I think they still have shots at the cfp
@@ericpollitt7910 Sounds like your selective..... Bama #1 and Miami lost too bro. 😅
How did your team do?
@@bryans.7220 Don't have one. I just love being a hater. :)
You’re spot on Josh, Grinch was only half the problem. Josh Henson is terrible.
As a diehard SC alum keep up the great work Josh. People dont like to hear truth so they call it hate. You called it... again ✌🏾
PJ Fleck wins a big game like this every other year and it always saves his job.
In this instance, USC has not gotten what they mega paid for.
DEI hire of the Athletic Director was their biggest mistake. She went full Andrew Berry and overpaid for an unproven commodity and is super glad the focus is on tbow(the burst out west) instead of her
@@michaelhammond7115 USC Athletic Director who hired Riley was Mike Bohn...
@@michaelhammond7115
keep your politics out of this sport we love
@@gusf645 facts....get over your feelings. It was a mistake of huge proportions (hundred million in fact)
And don't think for one minute it has anything to do with politics...that's your problem.
Hire the best and get results
@@michaelhammond7115
that "DEI" label is ALL politics. where's that same h@te for all the other ADs around the country that aren't getting it done? you don't have that h@te because the majority of them are white men. your betters told you that women are incompetent. and you keep licking those boots because they make you feel less incompetent by telling you that some other group is worse or is the reason you have failed in life. that inclusion of "DEI" in your comment told everyone exactly who you are and what you represent.
LR is always just so close to being good...
BOOMER SOONER!
Miles traveled is a bigger factor than a lot of us may have thought...
Not sure if this would matter, but I wonder if Riley should start having the team leave on Thursday's instead of Friday's?
Yes. Lincoln Riley supposedly is being paid a $100M package, what ever that is made up of. At that price, he should’ve figured out the problems by now in year 3!
Love to hear Josh talk about my Gophers for once haha
I agree with Josh, this is year one of a rebuild... he did a great job year one with Clay Helton recruits. Last season he recruited his first real class. Next year, we should question everything. USC will be fine folks. Trust the process
Looking back at the highlights of this one -- it looks like Minnesota was rushing 3 dudes most of the time, and they were still causing Moss to hurry his throws. He is a good, accurate passer when he has time. It was nice to see him roll out a bit in this game.
Maybe they should put in an actual RPO package with the backup QB guy who is big and can run decently -- just to give Penn State something to think about because they are going to take USC's lunch money and girlfriend next weekend, and it could be a bad loss for USC.
Even Coach Riley offense doesn’t work without a decent offensive line and better play calling
Don’t worry USC fans LR is just 1 season away from being good… 😂
"Close"
big 10 has large lines, O & D, Nebraska found that out coming from the big 12, that's 1 thing those 4 west coast teams are gonna have to adapt to
Usc is still recovering from the helton Era, but Riley does need to put more emphasis on recruiting and developing the lines and being way more physical. The man is a slow learner...
Oregon and Washington don’t have any issue. It’s about NIL at usc. Oregon is taking any good lineman on the west coast with Phil’s money
USC might be lucky to reach bowl eligibility.
They’ll either go 9-3 or 8-4 with loses to Penn State and ND
@@DreDay53 I wouldn't count Washington, Rutgers, or Nebraska as for sure wins.
@@zackattack366I agree, if Minnesota can beat USC those teams you named certainly have a chance
@@zackattack366exactly Washington is better than Minnesota usc is in trouble this year because usc OL next year they’ll. Be when they get new OL
Bruins and Garbers will give them plenty at the Rose Bowl between Huskers and Irish too!
SC Homer here…
Gawd Damn, Josh. I’m getting a little tired of you being right 98.5% of the time!! 😝
Ugh.
Fight On, anyway fellas!! ✌️
LR has been an HC for what, 8 or so years. But he’s really close to figuring it out? What other coaches after that many years as an HC get the benefit of the doubt?
uhh initials are LR. a real exclusive club
I actually agree a little but how many coaches out there are more successful than LR in terms of overall wins, conference championship appearances, CFP appearances, and Heisman Trophy winners? I agree he has a lot to learn in terms of program building but there are only a few coaches with a better resume.
With Texas down over LR's tenure at OU and the recruiting power OU has, winning the B12 every year is not a hard thing to do. He has no more easy path to the playoffs even with 12 teams.
His adversary on this game, the dufus named PJ Fleck.
I love the content as always. Hats off to Minnesota on the victory! Well deserved. I was impressed by them when I watched the Michigan game. USC turned the ball over in plus territory which would have led to points. In this league you take the points every time. That was the difference in the game. Minnesota ran the ball where Eric Gentry wasn’t present.
LR inherited a dumpster fire at USC and I see progress in the talent acquisition. We need two more recruiting cycles to get where we need to be since the prior regime didn’t recruit “Big Human Beings” and it will help with competitive depth. Our new coaching staff hasn’t had one recruiting cycle for the defensive front yet. Also, our linebacker talent isn’t where it needs to be. We haven’t had a #55 in a looooong time. USC will be fine and I have faith in LR. After all, Pete Carroll, Nick Saban, Urban Meyer, and Kirby Smart aren’t coming to save USC. I wish we had Lane Kiffin and Sark had their USC opportunity now but they inherited USC during the dark days and that ship sailed a long time ago. “In Lincoln we trust!”
😂😂
Bigger problems than just having good coordinators. Lincoln doesn’t know how to run a program, AND…his S&C coach is a bigger problem than grinch.
Lincoln Riley is full of himself. He is his own enemy and it shows with his play calling.
Every game in the BIG 10 is a battle. No push overs for USC.
Josh chose to focus on the defensive line. I wonder what he thinks about the offensive line which is the bigger problem
LR be like: :we're close" and my favorite "its the nature of the beast"BOOMER SOONER horns down
Well said. ✌️
I said Muleshoe would fall on his face. The only reason he was as good as he was at Oklahoma is because he still had a lot of Stoops players in the roster. As soon as they were gone he started falling off.
Great game. Rowing the boat with the Gophers.
Thank you for mentioning travel rate for USC. Been saying that all off season for the Big 10. Much better "excuse" than Bama or Tennessee getting upset.
Not really just shows SEC is deeper and better
Oregon, SMU and MIAMI all have to log more miles this year and are all doing great and will continue to. Well Miami is extremely overrated but aside that lol
Kalen deboer had Washington in the national title game in year 2. His coaching got him the Alabama job. I disagree that this is a rebuild. He made poor choices in hiring assistants and did not recruit to the Big Ten standard. Plus his offense does not match the physicality of B1G. The current state of the program lies on his failings as a coach and leader.
Former Big10 West teams love the quicksand special!
Ski u mah
Josh, you should dress up as PJ Fleck for Halloween.
Respect for Pate
The OL is about what I expect from an OL coach hired from the University of Tulsa who was only hired because his wife is the Director of Football Recruitment....and was LR's second choice behind Bill Bedenbaugh.
The one thing I do disagree with Josh on is it being Year One of a rebuild. When you are paid $100M dollars to be the HC, the expectation is you shouldn't have to go through another rebuild three years in. It is year three, USC fans were promised that USC would be the Mecca of college football. But then again, do we really think Lincoln Riley takes the USC job had he known they were going to the Big 10? He wanted the charmin soft PAC-12 and didn't even get that in year two.
The overturn that led to the go ahead score for Minnesota was one of the worst I've seen. Nothing shown had the QB clearly crossing into the end zone with possession.
Josh takes credit for being right about this game and he was. But calling LR a good coach created an undercurrent to his point. NOT 1 team under LR has improved from one year to the next. Each year the team has dropped further from being a playoff contending team. Obviously SC was better his 1st year over the previous, but not his 2nd and it’s not looking good for his 3rd. As he is facing better teams and his win % continues to drop, how long will the “rebuilding” excuse be held onto?
If your coach is on year one of a rebuild the third year of his tenure, then you didn’t hire the right coach. Period.
no
Guess you didn’t listen Pate’s point
@@seanvosq oh I got his point. I’m just making my own.
The modern Rick neuheisel ! : Colorado, destroyed bill McCartneys dynasty, escaped and went to Washington , and was awful, then somehow got his final job as a ucla head coach…. I feel like Lincoln will go to Purdue to live in the elite society of Gary Indiana
I'd love for you to be wrong but youre not. The team has heart. It just doesnt have quality personnel in the places we need it yet. Defense will be alright with the coaching staff in place. We need depth and talent to be field ready. There are talented freshman on the team and there will be a nice recruiting class come in on the defensive line and linebackers . It's just bleak looking at this year's offensive line and what is being recruited
The peristyle was shitting on Pate all week before the game. that one poster FightOn4Life13 got so mad he hasnt posted since the L
He may be in year 1 of a rebuild.....that is completely on him, he should have never brought Grinch or Henson let alone retained them as long. The Oline is a hot garbage fire and is missing 2 on it's Dline at this point
Rumor has it, Pete Carroll will return to campus in 2025. Not as a coach but as an advisor to the coaching staff
Problem is Concrete Feet QB Miller Moss and OL Coach Josh Henson
✌✌
They lost and shouldn’t lose those games even on the road. That said, unranked??? I guess the only loss LSU has means nothing in beating them. Seems they barely lost to Michigan on the road. Ok, should be about equal in ranking. Lost to Minnesota. Terrible loss. But beating lsu neutral site should counter that to around ranked 20. I dunno. Sec only
@JoshPateCFB I disagree, CLR is in year 3 of the rebuild, which started the day SC hired him. CLR is to blame for not hiring the way he should have. He could’ve hired better qualified staff, as soon, as he accepted SC’s head coaching position, but he didn’t. The clock doesn’t reset when you correct your mistakes.
Let’s take an example, KH destroyed our border. Let’s say, today, she initiates protection of our border, her fucked up time as “border czar” doesn’t reset due to her decisions she should have made.
It will be ok usc has the best coach in football he going to get all the recruits and take over cfb
Usc finding out the big 10 isn't the wac 12.
Clearly this guy takes great, almost unseemly pleasure in repeating the word chai-lai', or however you spell the plural of chalice.
USC line play is atrocious. And we have no pass rush. Even with that, Riley cost us this game and Michigan because of his stupid play calling
Singleton & Allen will run wiWe are!
USC fans being put in their place 😂😂 thinking they’re a playoff team. Okay buddy just worry about beating middling big ten teams first how bout
LR is too arrogant to do the self evaluation needed to coach at that level.
USC overrated.
Minnesota under-appreciated.
Ski-U-Mah!
Go Gophers!
Minnesota got drilled at home by Iowa. Not under appreciated at all.
Petty af... And I l'm here for it lol
USC beat themselves! They had 3 turnovers in plus territory! This game was tied 17-17 with under 2 minutes to go in the 4th! The problem with USC is their offense can't get into a rhythm because the weakness on this team is their O-line, they don't give Miller Moss time which doesn't allow plays to develop downfield, knowing they have one of the best WR units in the country! That's why this particular Lincoln Riley team is probably his lowest scoring offense in his years as a head coach! Then on top of that, Miller Moss has 1 rushing first down through 5 games because he's not a threat to escape the pressure he's seeing because of that ridiculous o-line! Caleb, Baker, Kyler excelled in this offense because they were mobile and extended plays and moved the chains! Their defense has kept them in every game because both of their losses have come with less than a minute to go in the game, on the road! The offense is creating no separation because there's gonna be a batted ball, or there's gonna be a sack or there's gonna be pressure on almost every play and MiIler Moss isn't going to extend plays with his legs like the QB's that have won Heisman's in this offense! Dude has like 2 positive rushing plays through 5 games and he's the QB! 😂😂 And that's why you see these low scores from this particular Lincoln Riley team! This is the only QB in Lincoln Riley's tenure As a head coach that doesn't run the ball at all!!! HOW THE HELL ARE YOU RUNNING RPO WITH A QB THAT CAN'T RUN?
.
Do not call usc receivers on of the best units in the country. They are mediocre at best. Deuce Hudson lemon don’t play with any fire they don’t run routes well and they are soft. Zach branch is a stud but he doesn’t run routes well and has taken the next step.
USC was beaten by a better team.
No Mr. Pate I believe you have what my grandma says mal de pho translated to English the evil eye to the team
