    Our pair of Glowforge Pro's are work horses running on average 8 hours per day. They get NASTY!
    I wanted to show you my cleaning method using isopropyl alcohol in a spray bottle, a shop vac, and air compressor.
    One of the most important components to keep clean is the air assist fan. Watch the video and see all the gunk that flies out when we hit it with air. Keeping this clean will ensure a laser that is giving you the best results. We will show you how to remove everything but use the links down below to visit the Glowforge site for more official detailed step by steps.
    I prefer to vacuum most of the debris first that way blowing with the air compressor you don't get too much flying debris. Then vacuum again afterwards.
    The rest is pretty self explanatory. Just routine cleaning and blowing.

    I remember the movie Rad from when we were kids. Similar font. Your videos were why we bought our GF and we did use your code, so hopefully you will be seeing some funds from GF soon. Thanks Donnie!

    You just blew my mind when you cleaned that lens with a microfiber cloth and alcohol lol. Also you were not gentle. We are so scared to break our Gandalf 🤣. Thanks for the video! Just gotta figure out the best way to keep inside by the fan clean. Ours gets all gunked up from the MDF we cut.

    Im just starting out making leather patches. I am hand tooling leather patches. I have stitched a few onto hats but just bought a heat press for hats and wanted to know if you have a tutorial to show me how you attached your leather to your hats. Thanks. I also own glowforge and love this cleaning video. Thanks for making it.

      Our patches are bonded. We do not have a tutorial because we have different processes that is dependent on leather type, outside temperatures, humidity, etc.

    Thanks for sharing this video. You are always so helpful! What do you use as a weight to hold the leather down?

    • @PGHATCO
      @PGHATCO  3 роки тому +1

      Thanks Scott. We have some weights laying around the shop we use. Sometimes we will use blue painters tape along the edges as well. I also just cut some thicker cherry wood stripes to lay along the edges that has been working well too.

    Any ideas on how to clean the widows on the inside for the focus system on the Print Head? Cleaning the outside just fine. Much ash gets under the window. I must manual focus to 0.050" to get clean cuts on 0.1165" MDF.

    • @PGHATCO
      @PGHATCO  2 роки тому +1

      On the actual inside of the head? I have no idea. Maybe compressed air would help blow debris out of there.

    What do you do to clean the exhaust fan?

    • @PGHATCO
      @PGHATCO  2 роки тому +1

      Hey. There is a cleaning mode for the exhaust fan. I don't know if you have used it before but I didn't know it was a thing until recently. But I like to use Isopropyl alcohol to clean it. I spray it in and let it soak for a minute then go into cleaning mode that kicks the fan into high gear. Make sure you put a cloth or something in front of it to catch all the wet debris. Then just wipe it out.

  • @jaysinincali1

    Do you mix or dilute the isopropyl alcohol before putting it into the spray bottle or do you just use straight up 70% isopropyl alcohol?

    • @PGHATCO
      @PGHATCO  3 місяці тому +1

      Straight up

    I would be careful hitting those fans with the air that fast. I had a fan explode on my 3D printer doing that.
