Always thought there should be more of a story between Gin and Kenpachi. The only captain who can casually sit beside Kenpachi mocking Byakuya and eventually dragging Kenpachi away wrapped in cloth(?). When most shinigami avoids Kenpachi, Gin did not. Both are orphans, abandoned. Their use of their zanpaktous are similar, straight forward style with no magic, Kenpachi with pure brutal strength, Gin with pure technical cunning. I always wondered if both had a hidden respect with each other since both are so similar, crazy in their own way, from similar backgrounds, alone against the world, rising to captain through their own sheer will.
I definitely agree with the scaling. I think Bankai Gin can definitely be stronger than the Espada. If he were to train and we are assuming he’s above Yammy. Then I guess he’d be high sternritter, if not barely schutzstafel level.
Byakuya and kenpachi got massive amps after the espada arc but they got destroyed by mid-tier sternritter. Given that this the case I doubt gin would fare any better tbh.
I mean Gin was purposely hand picked. For his power, straight from Aizens words himself, when he came back , I quite sure he said he knew it would happen eventually and was hoping he would kill him as he was the last person he feared and that allowed his evolution and said now he's even stronger. Or atleast that's how it subbed when I watched. He's not weak in the slightest. He clearly cared more for Him than Kaname in that sense. If the other captains got stronger than so we would he obviously of he was alive and trained aswell. But it also goes on match ups. He can extend and retract his blade instantly as he just chopped up an entire city in a second. We can't really go over power scaling on his battles simply because all the people he went against he was clearly way above their league and he wasn't trying. I find it best to kind of corporate what we have seen and by Aizens words and why he actually chose him. The espada don't even compare if he literally had em as his right hand man. He didn't need a "power up" like Kaname and was still stronger. If you swap places with Kaname in his battle when he died, all he would have to do is quickly chop up his big bankai n easily kill both em. His sword is too fast for em. But that's what I think has to be factored in as said previously, most of his battles were against people far weaker than him, but by Aizens words he clearly has a cut above most of the other Captains. Gin has always been ma fav. Just wished he had an actual battle with Aizen , then killed him, n then that happened. But then again, i guess that would be pointless as Gin is smart and actually knew the secret to his sword and waited for a quicker opportunity. Though as much as he's my fav, it wouldn't make all of a difference because in the end they still won, they just would've won with an extra character so nothing much changed. But still would be cool to see imo.
He said in an old video the opposite about being off-guard. That Aizen being off-guard wouldn't matter once he is first attacked and raises his spiritual pressure.
Gin killing Aizen even off guard is really impressive. It was his Bankai but he pierced him with Shikai. Aizen before this could catch zanpaktos and bankai like nothing based off spiritual pressure. Gin is one of the strongest captains in my opinion considering he can in anyway harm Aizen who in base is stronger than everyone except Yamamoto and in evolved form is stronger than everyone except Ichigo.
Along with Grimmjow and Ichigo, Gin is one of my favourite characters. Has been since he got introduced. It's been so long since I saw the episode he died but I still cry when I rewatch it. His and Rangiku's scenes are so emotional and good.
Gin strikes me as the kind of character who he knows what he did was wrong but he did it anyway and he won’t make an excuse if they want to kill him they’ll let him kill him in the end he lived believing what he did was right is it questionable absolutely could he have tried connecting with people maybe but he also didn’t want anyone to get hurt he wanted to be the only one to take the pain
She already had that moment when Aizen killed him. In this scenario she would have already experienced that so I don't see the point in trying to do that again. Then again Kubo did repeat similar story beats in Bleach, so maybe he would try to get that same reaction again.

Remember that soul society after the arrancar arc was at least a year later or more meaning alot of people had over a year of training which we saw since in the fulbring arc the captains and lieutenants wrecked the fullbringers. So id say gin in this case of getting a hardcore training time gin would be pretty strong

Gin is condemened to death for attempted murder . The end. He tried to kill an unconscious hinamori, a depowered rukia and hyiori was not even attacking him. All those Who progressed a lot were either way below their potential ( hitsugaya who is only a child and kenpachi who is repeatedly said to restrict himself) or received a deus ex machina powerup like byakuya. Training would not be suficient
I feel like there would need to be at least two Quincy at the scene in order to steal Gin's bankai. He could easily snipe or cut off the head of his opponent before they can capture it. and that's assuming he can't deactivate it fast enough to avoid the capture in the first place

This why gin had to die. Aizen became immortal. Gin whole reason for living after he met rangiku was so he could get revenge on Aizen. How can he get revenge on Aizen when Aizen is more powerful than him and aizen is immortal? I love gin character. But it made sense killing gin. Gin would also be executed even if he did survive.
It made sense to kill Gin for plot but it’s important to note that Gin didn’t know that Aizen had fused himself with the hogyaku. Also if Gin did survive he’d probably be sentenced hundreds of years in prison like Aizen and if that did happened, he probably would have made an great addition to tybw. I don’t know much about tybw but I do know that Aizen fought in the tybw so if Gin did survive he probably would have fought against the quinces as well.

Nothing is stopping him from leaving more inside people and letting it destroy the whole body besides the fact that it's a bankai so once a fragment is gone he won't get it back. But considering the threat level I don't think he have a problem with shortening his blade a bit more. Now Mabey final form Gerald is a bit to big to dissolve but if it got to that point gin would probably have trouble stabbing him at all anyway

YES a late Christmas wish come true! I actually asked Clyde this very question in his stream that I think is still going now, but no answer it seems...now I know this has no place in Power Scaling but I feel the other 2 Soul Reapers or Gin and Kaname kinda thematically in Aizen's Hierarchy are equal to the most powerful or are more Powerful than the Epsada. I felt when the 3 of them showed up to Barrigan Aizen brought the other 2 along as kind of an example that any one of them could defeat all of them. Anyways. I feel if Gin was in Prison anyway he would train if he was free enough for the intent of surpassing Aizen as you said or visit his Inner World if he had his Zanpakuto or could do so without it. If nothing else he could show up as soon as Rangiku falls and that would certainly increase his power or be an excuse to re-introduce him. Maybe if he had access to walk around he could maybe visit Aizen and train against him in his limited/sealed state? Probably not. I feel Mayuri would actually be the most likely one because since no one else probably knows what Gin's reasoning for joining Aizen was, Mayuri simply wouldn't care and revive him anyways. Now something I'm curious of is if Mayuri can also bring back someone as a Zombie then dezombify them or if he can just reverse Giselle's Zombification on things that were living before, regardless I feel Mayuri would be insulted if he were say...challenged by someone that he couldn't bring someone back seamlessly, then would do it just to be defiant.
