This definitely looks interesting. I love the Dwarven theme, and most games I've tried have a very boring smithing simulation. The elevator idea and the different workers and forges make this look a few steps above. :)
Hi Rahdo, if I'm not mistaken, around 12:15 when you demonstrate upgrading the forge building using the foreman, you showed that Jen gains some heat (goes from 0->1). I'm at 13:00 and didn't see that go back down. Also, I believe you said that at the end of the turn heat gets reset to 0, and I didn't see Jen's (incorrect) heat get reset.
@@PauloRenato23 Ah ha, I didn't think to check. Normally they are turned on and I see the subtitles, so when I did not this time I assumed the errors were missed. Thanks!
Hmm, I really like that elevator shaft mechanism, but I'm not sure there's enough else there - especially having watched your rundown of Shogun No Katana right before this.
The variety of project decks, meeple distribution at the beginning of the game, event cards [which I know are kind of basic concept... but hey it works so no hating pls ;) ] and the non-direct interactions between the players gives this game a quit significant replayability and great tactical and strategy options :) Just to make thing clear I am leading editor at Granna and Dwergar was my biggest project so far :)
Question regarding page 16 - The new shaft: How many point should I get if I have 3 of those cards at the end of the game. 3 X 2vp = 6, or 2+4+6=12 or both 6+12=18? Can anyone help?
sorry it's been several years since i played so i don't remeber specifics. but if you ask here: boardgamegeek.com/boardgame/291874/dwergar/forums/0 you're sure to get a good answer :)
As of today we don't have any Canadian shops with placed order. Tou can find the game at US shop: funagain.com/products/dwergar?_pos=1&_sid=9bcede937&_ss=r
Hrm, did you try face up events as a variant? My wife and I are shameless about modifying face up vs. face down event cards in games if we feel it makes the game more fun. Granted I know you have minimal time and don't house-rule much x)
tbh when developing the game we had to choose 7 driffrent color for meeples and in polish language blacksmith has nothing to do with color black ;) also, black meeple would be very hard to find on the board :)
@@LordRedinald Thanks, makes sense, but I would argue that black would actually be easier to see on the board. The white meeple icons in particular are much harder to see.
@@tribalguy2 I see your point :) maybe we have tried it on a different stage of development and didn't check it again later :) like i mentioned Dwergarwas my biggest project so far thus some mistakes could have slipped through: P
nope, sorry, it's not you it's me! i started turning them on a few months ago when i started to get a big drop in subscribers and income because (presumably) I started wearing BLM shirts in my videos :( you can avoid them if you back the show at the $3/month level on patreon, because everyone there gets to see the videos a week or so early, and during that time, there's no ads...
Well, of course with have thinkers it may add fuel to potential higher down-time, but in our experience, when players have their objectives set, those 3 actions take like 15sec each. Recently I was able to teach the game to numerous tables of 3 players and then watch them complete whole game in 70min. Thus I wouldn’t count this game as down time heavy title. And 3 actions gives you a lot of potential path to reaching your goal.
i can confirm that IRL it's totally readable (in part because your eye is naturally drawn to the meeple that's right next to the actual worker placement spot). putting the whole board in a single frame of a video exacerbated the info overload, but IRL your eye doesn't take in EVERYTHING at once... you tend to focus on areas :)

Don't mind if we do ;)

did you turn on the Klingon subtitles like Richard asked at the start of the video?

Play the way you like it 🙂
Instruction is just a fancy word for a guide 😉
need a solo variant for this
Why are the blacksmith meeples white? Wouldn't it be quicker to remember what they are if they were black?

i'd suggest asking the publisher here: www.granna.pl/kontakt.html :)
The ads that interrupt these videos are kind of a bummer. They didn't used to be there. Did I accidentally do something to incite them?

Ahem, I think in fantasy lore you'll find there are no dwarven women 😂
depends on which franchise you're in, i suppose :)
Having to do 3 actions per turn, sounds like a lot of downtime for the others

Another game that looks like it's gone over board with the graphical design to the detriment of clarity
I've heard similar remark for your game but tbh after first round almost all players withdraw that issue :)
