It's weird.. You see him play Reid in Criminal Minds all the time.. Yet when he's making fun of him a bit in this, yet still in his character, it seems so cool that he can just channel his inner Reid(;

yeah, I think when Matthew is playing Reid he kinda emphasizes his words more and he talks faster sometimes
@NicosMind The audio was actually recorded from a mic on the stage, but the audience was filled to capacity with a standing-room only crowd of Matthew Gray Gubler fans and they were VERY loud. You can see by all the camera flashes during the sketch just how enthusiastic they were to be so close to him. If you watch Top Story! Weekly episodes from other nights (without MGG in the cast), you will notice there is no issue of the audience noise overwhelming the sound from the stage.
I was sent here by the Spencer Reid fandom being that I am a very big member and THIS IS SO CUTE THE WAY THAT HE DOESNT SHAKE HANDS WITH HIM

My gf was there -- you can even see the back of her head and her arms when she applauds in the right corner when MGG comes onstage. She got to meet him before and after the show. Got hugs and even a kiss on the cheek. Lucky girl, huh? :)

This is good but the sound needs to be feed in form the stage and not taken from the camera within the audience. In other words the audiences laugh should be in the background and not the foreground! Everytime they laugh it drowns out the speaking!
