- Vibing while taking a break to chill at Team Rocket's HQ
The artwork is from the anime cyberpunk edgerunners. Since I saw the gif I fantasized about doing the edit with team rocket's outfit to accompany the remix. somehow to me it fits the vibe of a team rocket grunt

I'm a Rocket Grunt now
🤣
with 1.25 speed it‘s nice
Agreed
Me: *Walks into the Rocket hideout in the Game Corner, ready to kick some ass*
Grunts relaxing: Quirres?
😆
Wooaahh, Alter Loy, this is so sick! This remix just oozes style and coolness, in terms of both music and visuals, and I'm legit already addicted to this. ♾
The intro here just works, and I love how it teases a bit of the melody before that crisp reverbed impact sound. It really gets you into the mindset, and you feel like you're in the lobby, just waiting to be let in, or standing in an elevator that's going down to the bottom floor, just waiting pensively.... and then holy cow, at 0:10, when all of the elements come in, it just hits you with a wave of pure energy I can only describe as "underground atmosphere". The bass is absolutely amazing, and before I forget, I have to mention that the alternate chord progression you used with that descending bassline is _so_ good... too good for words, even. And in tandem with the awesome kick pattern and that amazing detailed metallic snare, it hits just right. Your instrumentation is always next-level, and you must spend a great deal of time and energy selecting the perfect sounds for each remix, like you've done here.
Speaking of which, I really like the synths you've used here! They're retro and full of character, but also modern in terms of sound quality and richness. There's a bit of pluckiness in combination with that filtered down instrument in the mid-low range, like an old-school keyboard - it's the one heard in the lower octave at 1:01. And I love how you have the recurring melody playing simultaneously with that part, where as normally it's just the bass notes in the original. You're always finding interesting and creative ways to beef up your arrangements with added parts that feel natural, thematic, and melodic. Big props, by the way, for making the second half so different, too! With shorter songs like this one, it can be tricky to differentiate repeated sections, but you went and changed it up in such impactful ways.
For instance, dropping out the bass for a few measures at 1:12 allows those ambient elements to really shine, like the airy, choral synth pads. There's an unreal amount of detail in the peripherals that's hard to take in all at once - another reason I've been listening to this song on repeat - it just gets better every time! And man, I love those huge layered claps you use in the second verse, with that nice sustain and that brief pre-shift "shh-" sound that leads into every other clap. Subtle details like that really make a world of difference! And on the topic of subtleties, it took me awhile to realize, but there's this awesome kind of record-scratch sound used starting at 1:32, and the pattern keeps changing up, too! Like, holy heck man, your remixes are detailed as heck!
Also, I love how you redesigned Lucy from Cyberpunk Edgerunners to Rocket-ize her. After looking at the original GIF, it's clear that you must have put in a lot of work to make the redesign look so clean and natural! Recoloring not only her hair, but her outfit, and even somehow slipping in the Rocket logo at just the right angle - and underneath the highlight on her sweatshirt, even - it's all so impressive. You have a remarkable ability to take artistic elements and modify them to fit the theme of your music so perfectly, and I love the effort and intent behind your visuals.
Seriously, I really can't get enough of this remix, and this is my favorite that you've made yet. Thank you for this phenomenal piece, my friend! 🖤
yoo equalyze, thank you for this, your enthusiasm truly warmed my heart 🙏❤
once again the way you described the different layers and melodies, particularly the creative additions, shows that the keen ear you have for music, truly remarkable. i'm both very glad and impressed at all the subtle details you caught and super happy that you appreciate the choices, both in instrumentation and in the alternate chord progression. building layers of depth in the instrumentation really was the most taxing part of finishing this one!
and thank you for appreciating the visual aspect also! while doing it my ego was shouting "somebody stop me and remove photoshop from my hands" but i felt it was right and i wanted to do it so i listened to my instinct instead, yolo hahah. i love the concept of rocket-izing people hahah
And of course I'm overjoyed to hear that this remix stands out as your favorite. Thank you for your unwavering support equalyze, your words are a true source of excitement and inspiration. a big hug to you my friend 🫂
@@AlterLoy Thanks so much for the detailed and gracious reply, Alter Loy! It means a ton that you always take the time to respond at length. ^_^ I was listening to this song again today, and it hit me that the clap first heard at 1:23 sound _exactly_ like the one used in "Playground" by Bea Miller from "Arcane League of Legends", which is one of my all-time favorite songs. In fact, your entire remix has stylistic similarities to that song - just another reason why I love it so much.
Once again, amazing work here. I'll be listening to this masterpiece a whole lot more! 😄
@@Equalyze i'm listening now to the playground song and what a banger! Also I see what you mean with the stylistic similarities, the kind of underground vibe i was going for kind of fits with arcane's whole concept (also i see new meaning now in your imagery of going downwards on an elevator in the intro haha). If I had had the playground song in mind i think i would have definitely used it as reference to include way more things on this remix, maybe in the future i could try to remake the remix going towards the "playground" direction 👀.
About the clap itself, it could very well be the same sample! It is from the package "sounds of KSHMR vol. 3" in splice, which i believe is quite a popular one (same as vol. 1 & 2). if you are interested in finding this precise sample from the package, it is called "stadium_clap_02"
cheers! 🤗
@@AlterLoy Ah man, I'm so glad you like that track, and thank you for checking it out! 😁 And yeah, I didn't watch all of Arcane, but the style of this remix definitely reminded me of the atmosphere and themes of that series. Also, it didn't even occur to me at the time I wrote the comment that the descending elevator fits with Arcane specifically, as I was thinking more about the elevators that always seem to be present in team Rocket bases, but that's a great call! And dude, no pressure, but I would love to hear something in that style from you sometime in the future! That would be legitimately sick. 👀
Dude, thank you so much for mentioning not only the sample pack it's from, but the specific sample itself - I will _definitely_ be checking out those collections! I really appreciate that you're always willing to share details behind the production of your remixes.
Thanks again, and I'll see you around, Alter Loy! 😊
I LOVE THIS
💛💛
What they should do is a story on a grunt that rises the ranks of Team Rocket. I would watch that Anime!
That would be epic, I'd be so down for that!
@@AlterLoy Any poketubers have enough influence with Japan to get this idea up and running now that Ash is done?
I really don't know! it seems like quite a challenge to influence TPC
Amazing
Thank you 🙏💛
Damn, pretty good, I'd love to hear the Team Rocket battle theme from Pokémon HeartGold
great choice! i'll add it to the list
@@AlterLoy 🖤✨
This is so underappreciated omg
Than you snowyzorua, it means a lot to hear this ❤️
Yum. Never has this theme been so relaxing :D
hahaha, making sure the grunts unwind a bit in between their criminal activities as well
Ahahahahahahahaha that's way too good@@AlterLoy
Oh dude, this is so good! It really captures the whole "gang" feeling while being such a bop too! The beat is so catchy and what you did with the melody is really addicting!
hey dannyyy, im soo glad you enjoy it. it makes me happy to hear that it captures a bit of the gang feel, thank you for the kind words 🙏❤️
Dude, this is so freaking good! If I were to imagine elevator music in team rocket's hideout, this would be it! :D
Hahah love the concept
This is amazing, please do more team rocket tunes.
love to hear that! thank you Pillowtap ❤️
If you have in mind some specific team rocket theme in mind i would love to know which! in any case, more team rocket edits is definitely a line that i would like to follow haha
Good work
This is such a vibe, I'm definitely gonna be looping this later (I already am)! Especially love what you did at 1:12
hey teruu, thank youu 🙏. im glad you like that part, at some point i was feeling a bit insecure about going that direction because i started thinking of this remix as a lofi one and was departing too much from it. but in the end i think it did end up having a better vibe like this. so it makes me happy that you validate it 🤗❤
Sounds great!
THIS GOES SO HARD
Yoo, thank you auguasito 🙌 ❤️
@@AlterLoy do you make any other kinda music that’s not lofi just curious
@Auguasito I do! Right now apart from lofi I have a mix of different electronic music genres (house, techno, trap, hip hop) and I also do a bit of synthwave. It's a bit of a mess hahah. I'm also looking to add some phonk remixes. If there is some genre you would like to see more let me know! I'm always open to new ideas
Live Hanabi Reaction:
I can go on and on about this track and visuals!!!
The industrial hits, the synth perfect for the hideout, the steam sounds made from the cymbal, as if you are underground
The industrial hits and claps with reverb 1:37 perfection
Everything here is amazing
ALSO OMG your photoshop skills are amazing!! I agree with Equalyze and saw your reply and im just shook how amazing you are at everything at this point haha
Thank you hanabi 🙏
Me encantó, suena muy divertido todo el tema, la selección de sonidos y es perfecta!
gracias Leoo 🙏, me alegra mucho tu comentario ❤
I want a new remaster pokemon game with this music
hahah, that would be amazing. thank you miraj ❤
if you could add this to the itunes store i’d love to make this my rigntone lol
hahaha, i like how you think
i think it should already be in the itunes store, but maybe something went wrong
