This game has some historic relevance since it's the second music game ever (first one is Parappa the rapper), and the first one to have this kind of gameplay which is very succesful nowadays in the japanese arcades and in the actual consoles with Guitar Hero and the others. This game anyway contains Beatmania 2nd Mix (the sequel to the original Beatmania in arcades, but this version also has some songs from the first one as far as I know) and Yebisu mix as an add on which has slighly better music and graphics.
The game is structured in four stages you have to beat to finish the game, but here I did each song for each stage, so don't be confused. First stage's music isn't too good for some reason, so don't let it discourage you:

I found this gem in 2021, I played this game when I was a kid.

My mother bitched about this game because she thought it was very violent. Does anyone see any violents in this game because I don't see it. Good times with this game and loved it.
Maybe these hardcore songs makes your mother thinks that this game is violent, Same as what happens to me when I was playing beatmania in the old times, My parents really getting mad at me for playing these hardcore songs.

OMG On Ska a Go Go you were SO close to failing the last 2 sections! I remember having trouble with this track when I'd play this at the Trocadero in London. ^^ I ended up getting the IIDX series up to 7th mix imported for the PS2, and bought one of those plastic black blue and white arcade controllers for it. Had an amazing time with it.
Changing the Asia...... .my god. Literally shivers down my spine. So many hours lost into this game...

I love you guys for this. Been playing the ealier games on MAME, and played the psx games a couple years back.
Next to DDR, this is the best music game of all time, and the longest standing.

I would Pay to have this game with the turntable. Mixes 1-5 all appends and remixes. I lived in Korea for 2yrs and played the fuck out of this game as a kid. Hands down the dopest music simulator I've ever played bar none.

Pararappa the Rapper was the first, and other rhythm games like vib-ribbon and Um Lammer Jammy.
also Third-Parties, like Bust a Move/Groove from ENIX, and of course, Beatmania (like this video) and Dance Dance Revolution from KONAMI.
This game was full of subliminal imagery and I LOVED it!

I might have missed something, but the European Beatmania PSX had a song wich i can't remember the name but i can remember how it played and the video content
It had a fast piano playing while the video there was some moments where a Gun Crosshair or something was aiming to a human silhouette holding a gun or spinning it too

49:35 this is the main reason for which I had bought it. The second is that the device works as a guitar for my brother in law who is left-handed and he was unable to play with the guitar of Guitar Freaks with me.
But I hated the other 90% of the songs, sadly.

Ska a go go has possibly the most bullshit ending in any beatmania song. It's there only to make sure you drop behind 80% in the last 10 seconds of the song and fail.

There was only one reason to play this game and it's 49:28. Me and a friend played this shit out of that song alone.

You didn't play greed eater, but then again it's only available in 2P mode. It takes the place of 2 gorgeous 4U. 20, November, Love so Groovy, and Overdoser also have different versions in 2P mode.

I used to be able to pass every song in this except Ska-a-go-go... I used to think I was good at the game, but seeing a random longplay online where someone is casually doing better than I ever did, is almost depressing. x3 Plus, I recently got IIDX 3rd Mix for PS2, and I'm absolutely hopeless with 7 keys!

Such nostalgic memories of people kneedropping hard on DDR pads then limping away, people misunderstanding the pound coins people put on the cabinet, thinking someone is giving them money, and girls in twos attempting to play DDR on easy, both standing on the same player side and taking 'two arrows each' while clutching onto the bar.. and still failing. Fun times!
