Perhaps the term you were thinking of (at around the 3:20 mark) is Votive Candle. (Although you are quite correct, they are indeed also called Prayer Candles.)
Also, the term 'pentagram' refers to any 5 pointed star polygon, whether it is inverted or not. A pentagram inside of a circle is called a pentacle, again, regardless of whether it is inverted or not. Pentagrams, both inverted and upright, have been used by various cultures for thousands of years, and while inverted pentagrams and pentacle are commonly associated with negativity in many Western European cultures, such it not always the case.

I totally share your concerns about the exorcist also being a mental health counselor. (Especially when the exorcist in question also happens to be a member of a fundamentalist, schismatic sect.) It looks like Cloud is the ‘Archbishop’ of a religious organization that he founded himself. So make of that what you will.
