Have you tried Afnan’s siphon, with the pipe expansion on top of standpipe? Afnan has a great video explaining it.
Letting the water run like that means that the roots closest to the bottom of the tank will stay wet and can rot and the upper roots dry out trying to grow to the water. Let the main drain pipe sag a little bit until the pipe coming from the tub is sloping down a little then brace the long drain pipe in that position. Personally I didn't like growing potatoes in my aquaponics tubs because they didn't get very big and it just not a very efficient way to grow potatoes. Taking them out of the tub is a giant mess it just wasn't fun at all. A much more efficient way of growing potatoes is in a potato tower look it up some time.

Undo the black siphon pipe nut, raise it up then tighten? Just a thought. But i'm not there either. ;) Love the channel.

No, there is absolutely no dress code. I’m always the worst one dressed there😂👍🏼 I wear shorts and a T-shirt most of the time:) I like shaving on Sundays to get the stubble off that’s all.
Looking forward to update videos!!! I run a constant drain system for greens but haven't tried potatoes so it'll be nice to see how it does.
