Wow, you could step in as the new Megadeth drummer on stage in concert using only the DD65, and no one would notice anything being strange!! hehe Yes, you are THAT fckng good at drumming! Amazing work! you should be paid by Yamaha for making this video because it is in fact a brilliant 6 minutes & 35 seconds commercial for their product..! ;)
I really appreciate your words brother and I am totally sure that you know perfectly well how much work there is behind a good performance, in fact it will sound funny to you but at some point I imagined that this video would reach the managers of Yamaha and that would be another story for me! Once again thank you for your comments as there is still a lot of work to do! greetings bro!!
@@azagthooth Yes, I have been playing drums for many years myself. I also have a Yamaha dd65, and know how to play it compared to an analogue percussion system. The DD65 is equipped with small pads which make it extremely difficult to play without missing a hit here and there. You have steel-control over your sticks, an accuracy that results in no misses, at least I can't find a single one when I look & listen. I myself found out that playing the bass drum with such pads lying on the floor was very difficult, and had to take one of my pedals from my analog drum-set to make a small rig that allowed me to play the Yamaha pad with a proper bass drum pedal. Only then did it become possible for me to gain control of the bass drum. That being said, the Megadeath song you choose to play is a huge technical challenge for any drummer. The song contains many elements that must be described as of a high degree of difficulty, I would struggle for a long time just with the double bass drumming. It is also a point that the dd65 is difficult to make sound 'human'. Even if a human plays it, it easily sounds like a sampled drum machine, which it technically is. It is simply difficult to make the drumming sound 'groovy'. All drummers who have reached a certain level hear a huge difference between someone who plays a drum beat as sterile as a computer does, and someone who also makes the drumming swing, groove, call it what you want, a 4/4 drum beat with a bass drum on 1 & 3 and snare drum on 2 & 4 + hi-hat can be played so that it swings from the drumbeat. A computer must have 'humanisation software' to not sound like a machine. So all in all, your video is a demonstration of what can be achieved if you are really good at what you do. All elements are of high difficulty and are solved masterfully. PS: if Yamaha has a FB page, I will drop the link to this on their page or in a message to them.. They probably hear the same thing as others do, and allow themselves to be impressed.
@@Rocknrollthor_norway Greetings, brother, you certainly touched on several technical issues that I personally had not taken into account.
