At the last minute, I would add some chopped tomatoe to that. It's amazing what it will do to the flavor.!!!! I add tomatoe to my macroni and cheese also. It is awesome !!!

Now you know, the secret to that recipe is going to be that beautiful Guardian roaster. Nothing cooks meat as tender. If you try it and it isn't excellent, you need an antique aluminum roaster.

I have an old Amish recipe for poor man's custard pie. It uses a 7" pie tin & the dri stuff is layered on the bottom of the pan 1st. Then the liquid stuff on top of that. Then bake & the same magic happens, but a bit neater...I just can't find 7" pie tins...
