Love it. And would love to have one now. I had the Renault Grand Espace 3.0l automatic new in the year 2000. Loved it too. No one does cars like the French.
I had one few years back. 2.0T, manual. Such a fantastic car and a pain in the ass at the same time 🤣 It may share 50% of components with Espace but good luck with finding any of the other 50%... Once the button "opening them all" broke it took me nearly 3 months searching worldwide to find it. And that was just one piece. Also overall quality was rather poor; car squeaked and creaked constantly. Nonetheless it is extremly interesting and unique car. Such a shame it never took off and eventually bankrupted Matra. Maybe next generation would be better. All in all I crashed mine and didn't bother rebuilding knowing how painfull and costly that would be. And now I own Vel Satis - less unique but still great car
Oh after being so long wouldn’t it be good for this vehicle to be electric and reproduce today? So critics can criticise it for being well? Good good good visibility good line of sight and if the Chinese get a hold of it and absolutely gorgeous interior and at a reasonable pricebut I think they’re doing that now
Shame no one drives these cars properly 😕 it only wafts along because you drive it like that...and you have read previous road tests...First put your foot down hard it kicksdown...then really press foot to the floor and it kicks down again..!!! Hold on coz that's when 24v variable valve timing comes in!!! THEN the gear lever can be moved over to the left..and you select manual...with sequential shifting and it goes like a rocket..SANDY BURNETT will solve any of your problems..I've had mine 3 years and love it's performance..space..brakes.and of cause the magic button...
Obviously don't select manual at full revs..and gearbox changes down automatically even in manual mode....I searched for a manual but now glad I purchased the auto..3.0v6 it does everything...and to think people like Clarkson get paid for road tests but don't do their homework..
@@Jonathan_Doe_ how can something not sell because it's too ahead of its time? It should be the oppsite. A freaking que of people lined up to buy it. I noticed even now people are very happy with their crappy BMWs and Audis.

Avantime’s are my specialty
Same
But for his inability to start any sentence without 'So', this is a useful and authoritative review.
So, thank you Andrew 😂
so i kept track of his So counter since reading your comment😂
Great review, very interesting
Out if curiosity, where did you find the images of the aventine at 5:15?
Beautiful music with great photography
Many thanks 🙏 Glad you enjoyed it.
I want to import one of these into the US someday.
Where did you find such a well kept Aventime?
A good friend of my brothers, and a friend to the channel 👍🙏

Looks strangely but still like it lol 🤣
that car is mind blowingly non US. 3850 lbs for that? the weight bloat would certainly make it at home in the US.

Kinda reminds me of the 2011-14 Acura ZDX. In a weird way...
AVANTIME indeed means ( ahead of time ) but... it's *A Van Time* 😂

Is the electric handbrake a nightmare to fix?

Francuska podróbka Moskwicza.
Never understood why they don't make these anymore
Didn’t sell. Too ahead of its time in terms of the luxury crossover thing, and the proportions were frumpy.
