I love Ackles, but I don't he think would make a good Marvel character. More of an antihero. He would have made an ideal live action Redhood, and did great voicework for him. I think this role is pretty much perfect for him. Seems like a good dude.

After watching John Cena do his thing in Suicide Squad , and in the Hbo show as the patriot I'm hoping Jensen gives it his A game as Soldier Boy I know how fricking epic he can be, so fingers crossed.
All of the Supes in the original comics were paper-thin caricatures of superheores...the tv series has done a bit of work in fleshing things out...it'll be interesting to see what they come up with for this one.

Honestly Garths Hateboner for Captain America really comes through with this character. (He thinks Captain America "steals valor" from the real heroes of WW2 despite Captain America being beloved by said real heroes)
The longer we wait the harder it gets! On the costumes... the Soldier Boy 1 costume (the print one) and the placement of the gold eagle on his shield (especially when he's lifting it enough so that the eagle is covering his shoulder) and his mask reminds me of the print version of Judge Dredd. I wonder if there's anything to that? Seems like it could be since both characters are satirical takes on authoritarianism and fascism.

Soldier Boy was a victim. If the title of this video is any indication then I have no business watching it because it's factually wrong. Soldier Boy was far from evil and only wanted to leave Payback and join the Seven. The worst thing he did was his stolen valor thing but to call that evil is a bit far. Mind-Droid even says that they've never killed anyone and had they been rapists they wouldn't be too shy to tell us. One of the few supes you can actually feel bad for in the series.

Captain America isn't actually suppose to be superhuman in the comics (his abilities are technically peak human). Though in the MCU he's very much seems to be (especially since all variants of the serum seem to givensuper human abilities). Eta:Correction, the 616 version isn't super human, the 1610 version is.
In a way I’m glad they gave Cap superhuman abilities in the MCU. It definitely adds to his Bad Ass factor. With that being said, I’m really curious to see how they handle the live action Soldier Boy in the Boys tv series. I’m so ready for season 3.
Unpopular opinion but all versions of Captain America are underpowered for super soldiers. First, he'd need to be invulnerable to survive combat. Secondly, he'd need to be as strong as the Hulk or Thor for anti-personnel, anti-tank and anti-aircraft warfare. Thirdly, he'd need super senses, like Daredevil's for reconnaissance. Fourth, he'd need flight, super speed or teleportation to reach battlefields all over the world quickly.🤔🤓
Yeah I think the fact that Agent Carter told him how his metabolism is four times more than that of an average man already establishes him as above humans. Cap is definitely superhuman in the movies. The guys like Falcon, Hawk eye and Black Widow are peak human. And we all know how Cap humiliated Falcon when they jogged together.
I am actually pretty hyped to see him Jensen Ackles play Soldier Boy. I reluctantly got into Supernatural and I would say the best moments of that show was Psycho Dean. The storyline where the Styne family kills Charlie. If we get alittle of that atmosphere... things will be good.

The comic really only started to get good when they focused on the virus and the Talking Crossed black guy.

Both comic versions of soldier were garbage and basically cowards(before Mallory started up the boys and after). And the Show version is all together a different and albeit better version than the comics version.

I think that SB's first costume is actually blue, it looks green because of the filter in the flashback part of the book.

The Boys comicbook is so boring... Garth Ennis try so hard, SO..HARD... that look like a 12y old writing his first comicbook.

Mark Miller is even worse, Nemesis and Wanted actually makes The Boys seem mature.
I still say The Boys is just another twist on Marshal Law, which to me, was a far more scathing critique of Super-Hero Worship.
