    Thank you VERY very much. In the first 20 seconds I understood that by watching your video I would learn how to make an engraving machine.
    I watched a different video by a guy who said absolutely nothing and I learned little from that other video.
    I really appreciate the time you took to explain things. You went through some trouble to do the camera focusing and I know how much effort that takes.
    Thanks again. I'll be watching more of your videos.

      You're very welcome. For the last month or so I've been drawn toward engraving, but the cost of new commercial equipment seems unreasonably expensive.
      I'm also hoping to learn how to make a good pen to hold the moving metal tips. I think I could manage making a vise to hold the work pieces. Your video is extremely helpful to me and I'm sure it will help others, too.

      @@southernexposure123 there are a lot of cheaper options out there to get ya started, but yeah that's exactly why I'm trying to build my own rig.

    I have used rivets to plug the holes in the pistons on the ones I made. A pop rivet dipped in glue should work nicely if your modification don't hold. can't wait to see your hand-piece!!

      I thought about doing that actually. I need to get on building the hand-piece but I need to order a quick connect for the graver bit first for what I want to do.

    What is the weight of piston in your air palm engraver and spring boeancy?

    Good Luck with your project, these things are fun to make and fun to use. I have made a few of these and over two dozen hand-pieces. I'll link to this video from my YT video, have fun!!!

      Sadly I haven't. Spine surgery, ADD and a bit of laziness have put it off. I'm working on it though.

    How do you plan to control the speed of the compressor?

    • @NightProwlerIncART
      @NightProwlerIncART  7 років тому +1

      I'm thinking of either using a sewing machine pedal or building a small rheostat controller. Leaning towards the latter of the two.

    Hi Night PowelerInc, I am asking for a little help when you read this comment. I have a desire to engrave and I bought a mini 12v compressor but my compressor does not have piston like this. My compressor has a plastic piston with holes and another plate with a valve on top, just below the pressure gauge. Please tell me which holes I need to glue and how to get my compressor ready for engraving. I bought 2 compressors, but both have the same working principle, with a plastic piston with small holes. Thank you in advance.

    It needs to reverse the air flow? Instead of air is pushing out you need it to push in to suck the ball bearing?

    • @NightProwlerIncART
      @NightProwlerIncART  4 роки тому

      It's actually doing both with the valve closed off like that. It pulls the bearing back and hits the spring then with the spring and the air it pushes the bearing against the end if the tool holder. Transfering the energy into the graver bit to cause the cut.

    That's mean cover the piston hole and whole airflow is no fresh air in and just keep push and pull airflow in the pipe right ?

    • @NightProwlerIncART
      @NightProwlerIncART  4 роки тому +1

      Yes, it just oscillates the air back and forth.

      @@NightProwlerIncART I see, last time I still thinking how it work on the piston, now already make it clear, thank you so much.

      Yape. as long as cover it and no air leak, inside will be push n pull the piston.

    not sure if you figured out the speed control or not. i saw on another yt video where he used a router speed control from harbor freight. i looked it up and they go for $20.

      I found this one at a local flea market. If you search for "airbrush" compressors you should find one. I hope this helps.

    how do u know which wire is positive and negative on the air compressor ?

    • @NightProwlerIncART
      @NightProwlerIncART  7 років тому +1

      The compressor I am using is a Paasche air brush compressor set up for 110AC voltage. It came with a plug on it. In the case of a 12v compressor wiring it up to a power supply generally they will have a red and a black wire. Usually red is positive. Best bet though would be to search a part number for your specific compressor online and try to find a wiring diagram. Hope this helps.

    Una semplice vite autofilettante che in seguito avresti potuto rimuovere, avresti evitato un lavoro inutile, nel foro sarebbe rimasta, semplicemente la filettatura, che non avrebbe compromesso il ripristino successivo( è semplicemente un foro!) Esempio di come rendere una cosa semplice un progetto della N.A.S.A😂😂😂👋🖐🖐
