@@Tigerhearty GPUs are for more than just playing games. People need high VRAM for huge Blender projects and professional CAD. Right now is like back before Ryzen when you had to get an Intel HEDT for higher core counts. Up until Ada you needed a Quadro or a 3090 for higher VRAM. Ada at least got more than 8GB to the 80 and 70 tier cards but it's still a $500 premium. That's why AMD is doing well with professionals, 16GB of VRAM for just $320 on the 7600 XT being an absolute steal. So don't assume everything is for games, you're making a complete fool out of yourself

Haha it's same for ALL MIDDLE MANAGERS in big corporations... When I was in HR in a +30.000 employee company, they sometimes would skip their bonus rewards for a whole year to save money, while still paying middle managers HUUUUUUUUUUUGE bonus checks (I was part of the paper-work bonus payout process), and not only that, but the people who did all the hard work on the bottom, had ridiculously low paychecks compared their colleagues next door sitting with e.g. the IT SAP systems, they basically just adding and changing numbers and letters in a system, no paper, no long formulas or workflows to follow, just really simple work, and they would be paid 50% more in salary. When they skipped the bonus reward system for a whole year, the middle managers would still get their bonus paycheck that as a minimum would be 240% of my monthly salary, and sometimes as high as 400% of my monthly salary, as a bonus for their "hard work".

You can buy a nice house that is pretty low maintenance, and nice Tesla, and still have 4 million in the bank to live off. If you invest that wisely. you can pretty much live on ~100k per year without any debts, and have no bosses or customers to deal with..
Not having a boss or customer = zero stress and having no money troubles makes your life stress free (If you have no partner or kids then the world is your oyster to enjoy. Vex is right about this: DLSS and FSR don't make any sense for any competitive game because you will increase the latency. I go a step further: it doesn't make any sense for any game. The only reason why the more experienced and knowledgable gamers started to care about FPS is because a lower FPS used to imply a better performance, as long as the framepacing remained similar or improved. With DLSS and FSR that does not apply, that is basically like gaming on smart-TV, all that added processing to upscale the images indcreases the latency with tenths of %-points, the gaming-performance gets worse. Developers need to optimize the code again, gamers need to educated themselves and not buy a game unless it has a good performance without such gimmicks.

I can only guess at this point but this could mean the new 16 core X3D chip will only go to 5.2 GHz while the non X3D part can go higher than that (5.7 GHz with proper cooling and power limit set up). It isn't slower because it is AI. DLSS FG has a little more input lag because Nvidia wanted a certain level of quality on the output image. FSR has less input delay but the quality is lower. It is all about a tradeoff. Personally, from my experience.. using dlss FG on single player games to go from 60(80) to 120 fps is a valuable tool to utilize your high refresh screen. Lag is barely felt especially on games that are slow to react like Hell blade 2 or whatever it's called. I would personally use DLSS upscaling before using fsr FG to get better input lag if that is what I was aiming for. But.. I have a 40 series so.. I have real world experience so my opinion is actually applicable 😝

Any time you’re starting out with a very good base frame rate frame gen does has a near zero penalty. Frame gen has already been in the game for about a year when they added FSR 3.0

Note that you also have a higher power draw with that adapter, it is a wire, it has resistance, you lose some electrical power. It is a colossal waste to make all these cables while the user has perfectly fine 2x8 or even 4x8 (my PSU) PCIe-cables. There literally is no valid reason to replace that connection. Easier? Yeah man, it is so incredibly complicated to have to plug in 2 cable with 6+2 plugs instead of 1, that really makes a world of difference. (I assume that the sarcasm is clear)

Here's the issue with being payed with shares though this happened with my wife. Worked for a company they gave everyone shares NOW, you could only get those shares if you work there for two years to 3 depends on the company. then after those years you're now vested, for your stock. But if you get fired or leave before that time limit they set for vesting you don't get crap. So technically the share pay is to baaically incentivise you not to leave and depending where you work they could treat you like trash to leave your job.

Framegen is good for games with an FPS lock. Games like dark souls and Elden ring have a shitty 60 FPS look. And it's not like "starfield 60 FPS" it feels more like 30-40 FPS.
Simply activating AFMF2 (AFMF1 caused a driver crash in that game😂😂😂) turns Elden ring into a very smooth game and even allows RT Max on a 7800xt in 1440p native.
If AMD wants to sell GPUs and gain market share, they have to sell the x800 XT GPUs for 350$-399$.
The 499 was way too much and I actually did regret buying my 7800XT for the first 9 month due to frequent driver crashes in specific games (WoW, League of legends), making them way more expensive than Nvidia if I just calculate Price/time without annoying crashes.

    15:00 "It's only a 13% inprovement..."
"Only"???? 13% inprovement is HUGE. I think the problem is that everybody jas been spoiled and has had tbeir expectations ruined by Zen2 and Zen3. The 20% performance improvements of Zen2 and Zen3 are ABERRATIONS....theyre not normal or typical, but now, every new Zen generation is expected to achieve 25% generational uplifts and it simply wont happen.
Obtaining huge inprovements like that are getting extremely difficult as nodes get smaller and everything gets more conplex. We shouldnt expect 20% gains anymore.
Im not trying to take these companies "off the hook", but i think its crazy that qe can see something like a 13% increase and think its mediocre at best

    • @christophermullins7163

I agree. Ppl like to say zen5 is a failure but it gets huge uplifts in server applications and the vcache variants will be(should be) clocked similarly to the nonvcache versions so I can see an easy 10+% uplift for 9800x3d over 7800x3d in gaming and since the clock speed is much higher.. production workloads across those chips will be MUCH higher Gen on Gen. Like +20% x3d to x3d in production. Zen 5 vanilla is not a gaming cpu.

I know thats not the exact point of the video but it does seem to be the probable outcome, Nvidia certainly wouldn't be the first to do something like that and I suspect with the typical results of getting less out of the next batch of people who end up in these roles.
