My friend and I had been planning on a trip together. We booked a room in a student dormitory (which was really hard to do). And then, like, 3 days before our trip, she said to me that she would take her sister and that we would rent an apartment instead of that dormitory (bc of her sister). She knew that i was really ecxited about the trip (it would've been my 1st time seeing a sea and going by plane!!!) I told her that I don't like this idea and she responded that I was selfish, that I didn't have a choice and anyway she would do the way she wanted. I stayed. No sea. No plane. No friend. But it was the 1st time when I really PRIORITEZED MYSELF. And I'm SO PROUD OF myself. It was a bit frustrated to me that my opinion didn't matter to her at all. And i was obsessed with her for over 2 years :) So moral of this story: do not forget about your desires. What you think and feel matter. Your opinion matters. Do not try to please anybody. Remember about youself, about what you want. YOU MATTER

you literally just spoke to my soul... i have to be honest. when i first found your video, i was annoyed. i didn’t listen to your advice because i thought it was the same as everyone else’s. a part of me didn’t even want to get better. i’m only a teenager and severely depressed, but i don’t have access to therapy. it’s been so hard to keep up with life. i wake up crying, go on my phone, watch tv, don’t brush my teeth, don’t shower, barely eat, don’t exercise at all. it’s been like this for some time and i’m breaking. i’m literally and inevitably dying because i’m sabotaging myself. when you said “don’t put faith in your past self” it’s like something in my mind just clicked. that’s exactly what i’ve been doing. i always see myself as a failure, as someone who will mess everything up for myself. and in the end i did because that’s what i have always believed and here i am. i will take your advice and seek to create a relationship with my higher self so i can go in the direction of my life that i wish and manifest goals and passion into my life. lately, i’ve been numb and careless of everything. i have no aim, no path. nothing. i hate myself on a level that could be considered dangerous and have tried to hurt myself several times. deep down, maybe i think i deserve it. but i want it to stop. i want to change. you may have saved a life today, so thank you.
Whoa! I love the idea of faith in the past/faith in the future. I recently took a leap of faith (into my future and ideal version!) and started a project I’ve been wanting to go for over 10 years!!! Since I was a teen! And I’m finally doing it! For the past 10 years, I was putting all my faith in my past with “oh, why bother? It won’t stick anyway. I won’t even finish it.” Then a big life event happened that changed my whole perspective and now I’m like “okay, what can I do today to become the person I want to be tomorrow?” And so I did it!
