Alsalam ealaykum aunty, I found your channel a few days ago and I must say that they are very educational and enoying to watch. The uncle Mr. Basdeo is a very good family friend of ours. He's good friends with my dad (Naro). It is sad to see how hard the farmers worked to grow food for the people and have suffered this great flood. I hope things get better for them so that they won't go through this again. Thank you for sharing your wonderful videos. May God bless you and your families. - Lisa, watching from Kuwait 🇰🇼 (Middle East).

Waalaikum salaam Lisa, thank you for your wonderful comment. It’s nice to hear from you all the way in Kuwait. I enjoyed highlighting the sufferings of the farmers. I also did another video, showing that the drainage issue was taken care of so they no longer have flooding. See link below:

good job shabna. You took the risk and the time to get on site. Everybody calling on the GOVT. Why dont the farmers band together and get a pump...??. They mekking millions. There is no labour to clear the trench. Why cant the farmers get together and clear the trench and get paid by the authories..? The koker needs repairs, why cant the farmers take the initiatives..?? There is a concept call self help. Development is not only for the Govt.....but for everyone to chip in. The whole country needs help......so the govt cant be everwhere.

@@theshabnashow Thanks for responding. If it’s not too much trouble, sure. I am working on a project to trace my family history. My main source of info was my dad who passed on 2 yrs ago. My Gr Grandfather lived on Statue St. He was the Imam for Windsor Forest Masjid & used to walk from Hague to WF daily. He died in 1949 & is buried in the Masjid compound besides the former Imam, Idan.

You brought insight into the plight of these dedicated farmers! This is a rare glimpse of what it takes to farm the land and the downside to farming. As an outsider looking in, I am not sure who is responsible for installing the pump that the farmers spoke about in bringing relief to their crops. As a blogger, you can share this video to the department that overseas what needed. It can be part of the process in the bringing awareness? Who is the contact for the department of disease control? This is a big loss when disease invade the crops. Perhaps another avenue of thinking outside the box and bringing awareness to what is happening is doing tours for people /tourists who are interested in farming. This video is a good start, and kudos to you for venturing into the flodded areas to tell the farmer's story. Bravo to the dedicated farmers of Hague, even though I don't know where this is in Guyana. I hope that someone views your vlog and in your next video there framers get the much needed pump they so desperately need. Best of luck to the farmers 🙏

Guyana is a land of many water so you have to let nature take its course. The infrastructure of Guyana especially for drainage and irrigation would cost billions of dollars and to try and please some people is almost impossible. From sea defence to drainage, irrigation and roads and also to look after everyone concern this will never end pray for sunshine ☀️.
