Marking every quarter hour by 1/4 th, 2/4 th, 3/4 and 4/4 th of the musical sequence and striking the hours as chord strokes on tuned set of chiming rods are really really pleasant to hear!
I have a homemade clock we bought and the inside look like this. It has no rod to connect the pendulum disk to, wondering what length I would need and it doesn’tchime at all.

is ur chimes on and trying putting the heavest weight on left and second heaviest on left then light one in middle
