That extra little hole in the wheel near the lug holes marks where your valve stem is. If, when putting the duals on you line up those holes, your valve stems for the inner and outer tire will always be in the same place. I wish the kids at the tire shops knew this.
Half the time when i did that at the tire shop i worked at the customer would have me take the outside wheel back off and set the stems opposite. All about preference i suppose.
FYI Sam..............you take Callahan to work with ya after he's big enough for a forward facing seat, the rear headrests are out the winder! So you're one step ahead of the game now lmao.
The light is the glow of a town. The city lights light up the sky above it. I love that truck. The first scratch it gets will cause 107000 guys to shed a tear. When you drilled the fender I thought you would mention the scale of the pucker factor. I laughed when said that a few videos ago. Are we going to see the red truck fitted up too or does Hoss do that himself?
I have a 2001 dodge ram 1500 4 x 4 automatic transmission and every time I drive it to work every day I always watch your videos you’re my favorite UA-camr and you got me more hooked on the second GEN dodges more than my father did when he had his second 98 Dodge Ram
i always use something as a guide when i use my plasma torch. maybe a5 dallon bucket woulda worked to get that rounded edge. whatever you have on hand usually works.
Takeuchi TB290. But being the video is not coming out chronological, it wouldn’t be fair to ask for a hat still. Keep up the hard work. I built my own bed and at times wished I’d of bought one and others I’m glad I built. Your videos comparing the new 5500 to your previous are what I’m eager to see. Been wanting to upgrade to a new 5500 myself from a 2005 3500
I was a little lost too, i know he has the new 290 machine so i wasnt sure if he was talking about that exactly or maybe he has something else back there,,,LOL
I will say in regards to the Carhartt seat covers, they are very expensive I had 400 bucks wrapped up in the ones I had in my 15 Cummins but I never took them off until I traded it in 20' and they still looked great no rips no Frey's no issues, they are worth the money if you decide your Amazon set doesn't hold up
Sam, maybe if you add a L once of material to fill the gaps between the tire sidewall and thr rack it may help with that wiggle you still have. Nice work and truck!
That is a nice looking bed. I doubt a freight train could tear that bed off the truck. Great video thanks for sharing!! That looked like the boom of a loader.
Nice job. I did the same type of reinforcements on my Norstar truck bed for my new Ram 5500. It appears all these types of truck beds will need it. For seat covers I went with custom ordered Ruff Tuff seat covers. They are expensive, but awesome. They are out of West Valley City UT.
Looks good awesome set up I would’ve done the same thing with the bed you can never have too much extra supports just makes it easier that you don’t have to worry about Stress cracks later on keep up the good work
Once you get the boxes done up on it, all that 5500 going to need is some type of aftermarket front bumper to give it your true signature. I’m going to guess that’s a TB260 in the background.
Just a suggestion your, headache rack is a c channel pointing down. Try putting a gusset inside that c to help with the stress of that tire. I may be wrong but it looks like your braces only go to the front of the truck side.
Avoid those Carhartt seat covers if you have side impact airbags. In case of an accident, the airbags in the seats will inflate but the seat cover seams are too strong and won't allow the airbag to burst through and do it's job. Beautiful rig there! Mopar and Cummins all day long!
My CM truck bed has the 18K rated bumper pull hitch as well, but the way it's tied into the frame is far better than the way yours appears to be. Looks to me like they used the bottom end of a hitch assy. for pickup truck (37' frame width) instead of the C&C (34' frame width) and added the square tubing as a filler. You are blessed with the right equipment and skill sets to handle making it right though. As for the spare tire carrier, I have mixed feelings about it. The ones on the Big Tex trailers break the welds due to vibration. I moved my trailer spare under the deck using a truck spare tire winch. No UV damage and I don't have to pick up a heavy wheel that high. You are less than half my age, so for the time being it's not too much trouble for you.
I cant wait to get my flatdeck :) Im still unsure if i wanna put my spare tire on top or keep it underneath where it already is being a 3500. My guess would have to be the neighbour having a party or a fire.
He made have hurt the warranty or not but he made it a lot stronger I has machinist/fabricator retired have had to do that very thing hundreds of time when you have to put a goose neck on it and you have to rely on it to haul 18 to 20,000 pounds at a time day in and day out who cares about the warranty you have very costly machines to move from job to job you want it to be as safe as you can and have that flat bed to as strong as it can be so you can rely on it to do the job
The issue with having a king pin set up, or fifth wheel, is that your trailer tracks a thousand percent nicer. Someone who has almost two million miles on the road pulling trailers. (IN MY OPINION)
You should see the brackets we built for our 5500 Service truck bed they are huge. 1/2 inch thick and we had 6 bolts on the back corners and 2 or something for all the rest I can’t quite remember lol it’s not going anywhere
I need to get to work on a tire mount for mine. With my future truck plans there's no room for a spare tire.. Also those seat covers are slick! Wonder if they'd fit an 04 🤔😏
Did you have to add any resistors to the bed lights? I have a ram with the factory led lights and about to install a flatbed and trying to figure out my wiring so I dont get any wierd messages on the dash
Hey how much would you charge for that tire mount? I have a cm bed. I hate that the upfitter failed to properly mount the spare. Where ru located? I travel all over.
Might be too late for this, but i was thinking - what would be really cool (and probably more practical/ergonomic) is if you incorporated a hinge into that spare tire holder, that allowed it to flip backwards (towards the bed) onto a gusset or stop so it would place the spare tire vertically and chest level in front of you for removal. Probably much easier to remove and install the spare if it was lower and directly in front of you instead of having to lift the whole thing up and over the headache rack to get it on/off. Kinda like - pull a pin (or remove a retaining bolt the same size as the lugs), then flip (hinge) the tire down 90 degrees, placing the tire and lugs right in front you, then pull the spare off and lower it down - never needing to lift up and over anything. AND - if the bed is loaded with something preventing the tire to hinge down - then you can still pull it off like your doing now. Even sounds like an easy enough kit/product someone with your skills could make an sell if nothing like that already exists. For the record - i think you do great work and i always enjoy watching your vids. That said - I’m still hopeful i can nag you long enough into buying a 95-97 Powerstroke dually for the channel ;) - (Edited for spelling so i dont look like a fool).
Spare tire looks terrible on the headache rack. But then again it’s a dodge so it already looks terrible 😂 However these trucks with a hauler bed like amazing.
Never understood why people buy a brand new truck and immediately put seat covers on to save the seats for the next guy. You get to ruin the seats and let the next guy have seat covers.

When i worked in a commercial tire shop we always had the stems across from each other
Good looking truck! I’m ready to see the video of the tool boxes done and on the truck. Hope that’ll be up soon
Sam, I think that was a smart move stiffing up the headache rack for the spare tire, I think it looks better after your mod.
FYI Sam..............you take Callahan to work with ya after he's big enough for a forward facing seat, the rear headrests are out the winder! So you're one step ahead of the game now lmao.
You tease! The trailer is hooked up and everything hahaha. Looks good brother keep it and I can't wait for the first tow haha.
Add a spacer block under the tire to stop the swaying.

A couple of months ago we put. A set of those seat covers. In my girlfriends Jeep she’s. Happy with them so far and the dogs. Don’t complain too much.

You should check to see if you can get the pipe headace rack inserts instead of the louvers. Still stiffen it up but way better visibility.

Did you say 2 diamonds at the end of that video?? Did your 40k Diamond finally come in?

Why wouldn’t he just get a fully skirted flatbed from factory?? Those things are so sweet and his older truck even has one
