PTT visited my track back in November and he ran the AMP's here... much quieter and ran nice. No issues with the shoes then... but something everyone will be watching for. I noted the CONTACT patch itself isn't THAT much shorter from AMP to Xtraction shoes, just saying.. Perhaps the aftermarket will pounce on this potential short-coming?? Also, just contact AW, the customer service has been excellent.. Anyway, GREAT video sir!
Hopefully mine had a pickup shoe that was a little out of whack and it won't be a widespread problem. Also curious on how much life is in those short shoes. We shall see! I placed the AMP chassis on a regular (non-top heavy) car, and it ran great, so that was a good thing. Like you, I love the trucks, especially the US1! Thanks for stopping by!
Good review Dennis👍I like the Dump Trucks but I am unwilling to buy the set for the same reasons you have stated. I am not sure if I like the AMP chassis....

Also looking for other reviews to see how they behave for them. My pickup shoe issue could have simply been an isolated incident.

I knew the moment I saw these new amp chassis being teased these things are going to be garbage. I hope AW won't be getting rid of their other chassis any time soon- even though better replacements are available from independent companies out there. AW needs to create these trucks in pit kit form including these dump trucks and bring out a few others. wouldn't that be fun?
The pick ups are funky looking and look to me like they will wear out very fast because they are small? also is that amp motor bigger than the afx mega G+ motor it sure looks it?
I think you're right, Steve, these pick up shoes are tiny and look like they'll wear out quickly. Time will tell, but I have a feeling they will be modifying this in some way. Maybe that's why they're only releasing them in the sets and waiting for the complaints before they release them all. And yes, that is a much larger can motor than the MegaG+. Probably twice the size. All I know is if we're a 10 year old kid getting this for my birthday, I would be pretty unhappy I lost a spring within 2 seconds, and may never want to get into slot cars again. Really sad. Otherwise, great to look at. Lol!
@@All-ScaleSlotCarDen Bummer! and the big motor well that must weigh a ton compared to the afx one maybe why it was so tippy? I don't like that big heavy motor they should have went with the size everyone is using and how will they fit bodies over that big motor? F1 car I don't know... looks like they can't make the low body styles like AFX does that look realistic they will have to make theres all out of proportion and toy like.
@BSslotcars I just now put the AMP chassis into an Auto World 240Z, and it fits in there very nicely and sits and runs well, just like a regular Xtraction. We'll see what they do for the TJets, if they don't make the can motors smaller for those, that may be interesting.

Didnt you say you broke in the red one for a few laps, but you then said later you only drove it two feet and it broke. Just trying to clarify. Anyway's, it could be the pickup shoe may not have been seated properly. I would have tried to duplicate the issue before saying your disappointed. It could just have been a fluke. Just my opinion of course. Good video of the new chassis. 🫡
Good catch! I didn't want to give away the problem I had until I actually addressed it. You're right, it may not have been seated properly to begin with. I merely looked at the chassis, but didn't fully inspect it before running it. That was the child in me, just wanting to run it, just like many children are going to do when they get this. I'm just hoping this isn't a common problem. Thank you for watching and commenting!

That chassis is ridiculous. Those shoes are a throw back to Tyco HP2. It's a bean counter dystopian future

Time will tell on how well the AMP chassis hold up. I'm looking forward to putting in many laps with them. A dump truck pit kit would be a blast!
