Thanks for another excellent video, Jennifer. I think what I appreciate most about ALL of your videos, is the way I learn to use what I have on hand in new ways. In this case, my large collection of colored pencils has been unused for YEARS! This has inspired me to enjoy them again. : )
WOW! This idea with the pencils, shading, gel pens: and what an incredibly beautiful result. I can't wait to try this for myself! Jennifer, you are a genius for the art world. And the thread idea: very nice touch.
Jennifer this is so pretty. I think the things you did to those flowers really made them more beautiful and colorful. they really came to life from the flat surface to a more dimensional look. You're so good at techniques it blows my mind away ... thank you again Jennifer for all the wonderful sharing you do of your art. pat
Jennifer, every time you make a video , I'm left wanting to add the stamps, supplies to my stash. This looks like a very doable method & I can't wait to give it a try. Thanks for another beautifully done video!
Wow these cards are beautiful. I am so loving that technique and a good use for the white jelly roll and the white prisma pencil. Love how you did your background sentiments too.
Absolutely beautiful, Jennifer! The technique you used on the flower stamp is really amazing. I love watching your videos. I always learn something new. Really looking forward to using this technique!
Very clever cheater technique. Looking at the finished card at the beginning of the video, I would have never imagined that the flowers were NOT lined images colored carefully with pencils or Copics of several shades of color and lots of blending. So simple to use the white pencil but adding the deeper colors to bring out the depth of the flowers really brought them to life. POW. Mind. Blown. I am excited to try this technique. I have no desire to learn to blend colors the Copic way as it is just another expensive hobby to add to my expensive hobby life. I don't really stamp with lined-image stamps- that really lend themselves to Copic-type coloring but this easier and inexpensive technique really opens up a lot of my current stamps for totally new look. I guess this old stamper can be taught new tricks!
I am always amazed by your creativity and all the unique and new ideas that you come up with. I've learned so much from you. These cards are just beautiful. Can't wait to try this.
Amazing what a white pencil and a little ingenuity can do! You never cease to wow me. I wish I knew your trick for fussy cutting - yours always look so professional and mine end up looking like something a first grader would do. If you can, could you please share (in detail for old dogs like me) how you cut?
Thanks for all of your video tutorials . . . it really helps when you are a beginner. I learn better by watching the video than by reading the tutorial. I'm still trying to figure out what "fuzzy" cut is, and how to cut out those flowers.
Thank you very much, Jennifer. I have not purchased many solid stamps in the past. Now, that you have shown me what to do with them, I will have to rethink this. Love what you did with the flowers.
Wow! Amazing; when you first added the white pencil before blending I was like "eh"; but after using the eraser, colored pencils and gel pen; this looks fantastic. Thanks so much for the technique!
Your highlighting is a go-to technique! Thanks for sharing as it will be used a lot in the future. I also love your stamped background - so interesting and easy to do. Big thumbs up for this tutorial. Thanks again.
oh my!!!! Jennifer...you are SO amazingly talented!! These cards are gorgeous....and yet the technique is so simple. Thank you so much for sharing!! (PS....I say that a lot, don't I?!?!?? LOL) ☺
Great ideas! Never thought of using the sentiments as a background. Thank you for your clear and quick instructions! I guess it's time to pull out my colored pencils....now where did I stash them?
Once again a fantastic card. You sure make it look easy. Great new tricks as to how to spice up a stamped image. Was watching the frugal crafter "ask a crafter" and she gave you a nice kudo Thought you might like to hear that.
I love this card! So much that I ordered the stamp and die and made one tonight! It's not as beautiful as this one is but it turned out pretty good. :) LOVE your ideas Jennifer! Keep em coming :) :) :) Thank you so much!
Martha Stewart has a favorite bow that is so simple and idiot proof that I adopted it years ago. I wrote a huge long...hilarious...comment explaining all about it and how to do it.... and then lost it all. It was like college-essay length...and literally an hour of time...GONE. So, now I shall just refer you to Martha's instructions in a non-funny way. Here is a diagram and instructions for not only Martha's Favorite Bow but also two other bows. www.marthastewartweddings.com/226403/three-perfect-bows Why am I bothering to write about Martha's bowing techniques on a stamping technique video from Jennifer McGuire? Because the bow is perfect every single time and works if you are using ribbon or thread, thin or thick, patterned or double sided. I have saved many a panicked mom/daughter unit at dance recital or dance picture day by simply taking the ribbon and quietly but efficiently tying perfect hair bow after perfect hair bow.
Thank you Jennifer for showing us how to make an elegant card using simple supplies, especially the colored pencils! Can't wait to try this!
I LOVE this technique! I usually don't like solid image florals because they tend to look flat. This technique really brings them to life.
