- the complete funky chimes ending, from episode 1095.
TEMPORARY PLACEHOLDER UNTIL I CAN REMIX IT AND MATCH THE FRAMES BETTER.
I MADE THE AUDIO BETTER AND STEREO SOUND.
If you're 33 or older, then you remember listening to the funky chimes at the end of Sesame Street.
ir10031981 I am 50 years old,and I truly remember the original music outro(funky chimes).I think that Sesame Street was a great teaching tool to help shape me up number and alphabet wise. The Electric Company was another show I highly praise during its 1971-77 run.Helped me with grammar and pronunciation, too.
Hell yeah I do…43 today
@@arcpuffin Hell Ya I’m 46 And I Love Those Funky Chimes
Proud to admit IAM 51 and still love listening to the sesame street funky chimes 😀
Im 44 , and still remember every corner of it , as well as the Canadian version , with the blue background...
GREAT STUFF👍🏽👍🏽!!!
The name of the actual recording is called "Sesame Street Theme-Arrangement #2". The composers are: Joe Raposo, Jim Henson & Bruce Hart. Sesame Street Inc. is the publisher(BMI)
Thanks! How did you know?
@@jadsi
During my hip hop days, I wanted to use that sample that for a song I was writing. I called up Sesame Workshop to get the legal info on the composition and they had to research it.
@@TGGaineyProductions thanks
@Jadsi Sure. It took them three days to get back to me with the info as they had to research their song database as you know there are hundreds of songs composed for the show. Oh and the published/copyright date is 1971. Sesame Workshop still has the full recording but it would cost a grip to license the track for sample or remix purposes. I know some producers that would slay a remix of it but they need to have the actual master.
I want the full track
This will always be my jam. I used to boogie to this. Once I knew most of the skits by heart, this song was the sole reason to watch Sesame Street. So is this the longest version I will ever hear in my lifetime? I love it! Thanks for posting. I sure would love to hear like 3 minutes of WHOEVER these dudes/dudettes are, though.
I played this for my child, he said: “Sounds like a Charlie Brown adult singing in the background.” I liked it.
Too cute. 😁
Lol, cool interpretation of wah-wah
Lolololol!!
KOOKIES!

Ding, dang dong! BA DAP BA DAAAAAAAAAAA! Never gets old, huh?
Josh Freilich No,it doesn't.I still enjoy listening to it.Still gives me goosebumps after all these years!
Josh Freilich make a good ring tone, or fire alarm.
@@georgemaster9271 I also got goosebumps listening to it
Found it. haven't heard this one for about 35 years or more.
"Today's episode of Sesame Street has been brought to you by the letters F U N and K..."
SS 50th anniversary!
And by the number 6!!
This was recorded in 1972 and 1st aired in Episode 406; the premiere episode of the 4th season on Nov. 27th 1972.
Thanks!
I want this played at my funeral. Or my retirement party. Whichever is first at this point…
GenXorcist 😂 love your name!!
@@DameDarcy999 Thanks!! 😃
From 1990 to 1992, Gordon says the following over the funky chimes: Funding for this program is provided in part by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting; and by public television stations and their contributors.
Guitarist working that wah wah
Probably Nile Rodgers. I kid you not! Peace.
@@MuzikJunky seriously? wow!
@@dplatt7290, Nile Rodgers got his start in Joe Raposo’s band. That’s why he was one of the guests on the recent 50th-anniversary special! Peace.
@@MuzikJunky that is so cool!
@@MuzikJunky Actually, it's Jim Mitchell.
Glad i got this on my ringtone, so funky lucky 70 to 80s kids.
Still gives me goosebumps (in a good way).
This is sweet, takes me back to 1978. Just, wow. And those chimes, they replicate the notes from the words "Sunny Day" in the opening theme tune.
I told my man if i possibe, I want to set this up as my doorbell ringtone. Whenever someone rings it, I'd be jamming on my way to answer a visitor... I literally went all over UA-cam for the sake of finding this to convey what I was speaking of. He said no...I'll settle for phone ringtone
Sabrina Mcewen - you’re my hero.
Lol the ringtone probably goes off more, so you won!
Forget him, just download the audio
I was looking forever for this tune
Now a days, people act like there are laws against music being this darn funky. What happened to music people?
...Right!?🙂
❤
Been thinking of this for 50 years! Thank you! This is one of those pieces of music that subconsciously influenced everything and every part of my tastes in music.
Me too
Likewise! I heard this song as a kid living in Puerto Rico every afternoon. I've sang it in my head for about 45 years.
Takes me back....wayyyyy back to being a young boy in the 70s. Man !!!!
Hell yeah...I can never enough wah-pedal.
Nile Rodgers
...Sesame Street is going off, and my Granddaddy just pulled his 1973 two-tone Buick Electra 225 into the carport. Nap time!
👍🏽💯😴
Thank for posting this. I was starting to think I imagined it.
Brought me tears of nostalgia from being 5
THANK YOU SO MUCH !
Im 53 amd this jams as hard as ever, great find!🎉
Heard this in 1974. I watched PBS as a child. Every show that came out I watched
I loved Electric Company, Zoom, Villa Alegre.
I want it much longer than 1095 funding. So recorded in 1971 funky R&B music.
Brings back a ton of good memories!
Funding for this program was provided in part by the corporation for public broadcasting and by the public television station and they're contributor,
And don't forget the Helena Rubenstein Foundation!
And the CTW
And since 1999, they have thanked contributors.
I read that in Gordon's voice
Astounding Funky Chimes🎵🎶🎼🕺
I can tell by the chime notes this piece of music was composed with tubular bells
🔔🎵
God I love that ending!!

THIS SLAPS!!!!
Thank you! Been looking for this!
i was looking for this for quite some time. all i did was type in Sesame Street funding credits music, and this came up. i've completed the search.
Every Friday, and then the weekend would have no Sesame Street :( lol I used to love Philip Circles, I beam, Daddy Dear, Queen of 6, Rolling ball 123 (cherry). Will we ever see that kind of creativity again?
Sesame Workshop should release the full audio.
The memories...
MF DOOM!!!!!!
J.V.C. F.O.R.C.E.!!!!!!
Peace. How can we support you to get a promo CD or digital copy of this? This is on point.
Thanks.
Peace.
I want this as my ringtone, bring something wholesome
If sawing14s doesn't have the Puerto Rico set, nobody does.
It would be nice if SW could release complete versions of this and the closing theme, stereo mixes if possible.
Oh, and I've ALWAYS wanted to have Snuffy's theme music, with the contrabass clarinet and trumpet mouthpiece.
Somebody might have the other Puerto Rico episodes. It's definitely possible that someone could have recorded them as VHS had already been invented by then.
+MonsterpieceTheatre I'm sure Sesame Workshop has all of the Puerto Rico episodes. They probably aren't going to release them anytime soon though.
Terrible news, HBO Max left out the Funky Chimes!!! fuck...
Figures they would, @@jadsi. I'm sure it's for legal (tender) reasons that they can't play the former funding info. It'd be nice if there was some other relevant captions they could show over that music. They just have that little jingle that the Workshop uses now.
@@MonsterpieceTheatre damn
This still creeps me out
DAAAAAAAAANNNNNNGGGG that’s a lot of funders!
@GroverKent this wasn't professional, i used my magix audio studio 2.0 and it took time to remix it.
Earth Soul Sesame Street Funky Blues RocknRoll...
Imagine if I used the funky chimes as funding music for Blue's Clues, like if Blue's Clues had funding. Funding for Blue's Clues would be provided by The U.S. Department of Education, The Department of Health, Education and Welfare, The National Center for Educational Technology, Hasbro Children's Foundation. The Corporation for Public Broadcasting, The Ford Foundation, and Carnegie Corporation of New York. The funky chimes music would first be used in Pretend Time.
Ashley Hemsworth What about Viacom for funding? Blue’s Clues was a Nick Jr. (Nickelodeon for preschoolers) show, and Nickelodeon is a Viacom network.
It's just a thought.
1990-92 Funding for this program is provided in part by Corporation For Public Broadcasting and by This Station and Other Public Television Station
Probably haven't heard this in about forty years...and bam...memory slam.
Wish there was another minute to this mix
Or 30.
Me, too!

as of May 2019, by now you'd have to be 33 (or turning it by the end of summer) to be old enough to remember the funky chimes, if you're over 33, you're old enough to remember this, I sure am. I'm 37. This funky chimes closer was used until I was starting fifth grade. Shout out to WTTW 11 Chicago for airing Sesame Street, ah, memories.
@@doctorratinho That's not what was asked for; what you shared is a rap track *sampling* the tune in the bg. Just want other people to know if they're curious.
I made this my ringtone years ago
Go see Street Gang: How We Got To Sesame Street. Really good documentary and Funky Chimes is used in the opening credits.
I would want my eulogy to be delivered like this, complete with music.
I used to pop lock to this
my 1st jam✨
...My new default ringtone along with the theme from Vega$ !!!
*1971 PBS logo*
@NikitaFilatovFan3040 Yeah, I think it was even LONGER when the crew returned from Puerto Rico. Peace.
Terrible news, HBO Max left out the Funky Chimes!!! fuck...
Reminds me of the Rocky theme
Bears in a Brush
Led Zeppelin, Rick Derringer, Funkadelic, The Jackson 5, Average White Band, and The Isley Brothers COMBINED have NOTHING on this jam.
When this song came on that means I wanted more Sesame Street I was actually upset when this song came on but it was cool anyway🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣😆😋

I could really dance off of this song.Lol!!!

BAD ASS!
Not content to teach us the alphabet and our numbers, The Children’s Television Workshop taught how to GET DOWN!!!
I’d love to have this for a ring tone on my 📱
Where can I find the full version of this composition?
still wondering what instruments were used in the old end credits
microbusss Guitar with a wah pedal, bass, drums, electric organ, horn section, and I think a triangle.
