FYI at 3:06...obd2 scanners were required to be installed as of January 1st, 1996 so this vehicle is the first Honda Accord model with them. My 1995 doesn't have one...
Very, very, very helpfull, thanks a lot! By the way, there´s a secret code in the stereo to be set when it will be replaced, it´s important to have it recorded before, isn´t it?
90-93 Accord is very similar, but some say it's possible to loosen the screws holding the radio without removing the center console, but I find that method very frustrating.
I followed these video instructions to remove the radio, then unscrewed the bottom black attachment to the radio, which shows a clear "SERIAL NO." label with a 10 digit serial number. I then entered this serial number plus the VIN into radio-navicode.honda.com/
I disconnected the battery while changing the ignition switch today. Radio say CODE. I've tried lot of things butt the radio doesn't change. Thinking of pulling the fuse to reset previous attempts, powering on the car, holding down 1 and 6, then turning on the radio and HOPE it says U and I can finally enter the stupid code that in the users manual in the glove compartment. Sigh!
My boyfriend and I have searched and searched and searched for tutorials on how to remove the stereo area. This is the first video we have seen that actually shows where all of the screws are in order to do so. Thank you so much!
i guess Im asking the wrong place but does someone know a trick to log back into an instagram account? I was dumb lost the account password. I appreciate any tricks you can give me
@Hamza Rhett Thanks so much for your reply. I found the site through google and I'm waiting for the hacking stuff atm. Takes quite some time so I will reply here later when my account password hopefully is recovered.
Does the factory tape radio have input in the back some where, I notice the button says CD but there's no CD player. I was really hoping to see the back of the factory tape radio.
i have an after market radio installed and everything, but is there a way how to disconnect the antenna from the radio? I hate how the antenna goes up when I turn my car on. i never listen to the radio anyways lol
wherepyghoat they have an autotheft on the radios for these cars. When the battery is disconnected you need the number from the back of the radio, and might have to call the dealership for the unlock code. Next time you tell people to disconnect the battery, tell them all the info, or make your own video, instead of bashing other people...dumbass!
took it all apart like u did because all I get is static and every once in a while it turns on in the morning when I'm going to work then it just cuts off and doesn't work anymore
I've done this 8 years ago on my own until my radio got stolen a year later. How great it is you got this here and I need not to figure it all out again. I got the replacement center console 2 years ago but never got to it. I know, the thief ripped the center console out and cut all the connectors. I still need to solder everything back up again. Thanks so much!
how do ya mount an aftermarket one? that bracket on the back only has 1 bolt holding the radio and pocket, most aftermarket oned have a bracket/ plate on the sides
My understanding is that the horn relay is behind the radio. Anyone know about that? I need to see if mine needs to be replaced. I was slamming on my horn at some aggressive idiot and it suddenly stopped working. Wasn't the fuse - checked it twice. I don't hear clicking.
What type of Ratcheting Screwdriver were you using? It looks like it has magnetic tip to hold on to the screws. I cant seem to find one like that, they all say magnetic bit holder but this refers to the bits going into the stem of the driver and not the tip themselves being magnetized. Anyway, I have the 1995 accord and have to take it out to get the serial number bc the sticker with the code is nowhere to be found and I had to replace my battery.
I got stuck unable to remove the cigarette lighter. It's sitting there half done :(. That part is not clear in the video. Everything else is excellent.
How to set the code once it's installed? I have the code. Suspect the power to the radio at the battery needs to be reset and then the code entered after holding 1 and 6 for 20 seconds before turning in the radio. So far entering code doesn't seem to work,
If you have the code great if not you can get it online. Go under the hood, go to the fuse block housing near back of engine on passenger side. Remove both the 15amp Radio fuse, AND the 7.5amp BACKUP RADIO fuse. This will erase the fact that you have attempted to enter the code too many times which locked the radio up. Put the fuses back in. Then go back to the radio and it will say CODE once again. Enter your code and you are in.
Release "Clip," NOT Trigger. A trigger is a device that is more associated with a GUN that fires a bullet upon pulling back on it. A "Clip" on the other hand is a device that HOLDS something IN PLACE!
I wish that all ya had to do was just pull the damn thing out of the console & plug up the new one. I'd *never* get all of that reassembled. I guess I'll be getting a portable iPod speaker instead to listen to my tunes in the car. But thanks anyway.
Now teach me how to put another one in
Thanks a bunch buddy. You literally saved me several hundred 💵

Wow Philip, this really SCREWS things over.
Ty so much I was about to go into this blind
I have 97 Honda Accord and when I replaced my battery, I get an error message on the radio, needing a code? How do I retrieve that code?
Hey @Shalanda Elise I did the same thing. You can look up the code online but you will need to serial number on the back of the radio to do it.
I followed these video instructions to remove the radio, then unscrewed the bottom black attachment to the radio, which shows a clear "SERIAL NO." label with a 10 digit serial number. I then entered this serial number plus the VIN into radio-navicode.honda.com/
Awesome. Thank you.
What about the two screws on the side of the arm rest console..
Great video thanks a lot

I disconnected the battery while changing the ignition switch today. Radio say CODE. I've tried lot of things butt the radio doesn't change. i have an after market radio installed and everything, but is there a way how to disconnect the antenna from the radio? I hate how the antenna goes up when I turn my car on. i never listen to the radio anyways lol
what year do you have? I don't even think I have an attena on my 96 accord. Unless I've never noticed it lol
You need that antenna for radio to work.
Unplug the antenna motor in the trunk. Seeing that you don't use the radio part. You need the antenna for am/fm reception.
My autopilot honda accord 95 stops working, blue cruise light does not light anymore. Any tips to fix it please? Tks.

Right on the spot. Great job.

What a bullshit job to get stereo out
what if you want a new cd player and keep the tape deck...
Sounds like a Tape adapter would solve your problem.
On point. Thanks 👌🏆
Super helpful! The previous owner of my 95 accord pushed the code reader port behind the center console, so I had to pull the whole thing off😂

No need for the 1 and 6 if you do this
Will this work on a manual as well?
+Aj Wilhite I think as long as you have the same unit, it will work

I need to get it out to clean the cassette drive, it’s way more involved than I expected.
