what separates you Pete from the vast majority of other interviewers ( coincidently often americans, what a shock !!!) is that its clearly apparent, you don't feel the need to bombard your subjects unnecessarily with question after question, by letting them speak, with perfectly phrased and timed questions you effortlessly let their stories flow thus rendering any questions the typical deficient interviewer might ask, redundant. YOU BLOODY LEGEND !!!! and thankyou
everyone is praising this one-tooth pattaya rider while ignoring the fact that he was potentially endangering every of those workers by not using condoms, it is not for your protection is for protection of both, he said how he treat those girls well, bs, he is a dirtbag and his "positive" story about 18 year old gold-digger was supposed to make these heartless dead inside bar girls look human-like? Most of them have no empathy in them, they would left you on a spot once you get into trouble or spend all your money on her... there are gazillions channels sharing stories about these women... they are monsters, they are not born that way but it is vicious cycle of bad parenting (mother pimping her daughters, or lack of parenthood altogether) and the way of life in those areas and the way thai men treat these kids (they start to have sex in early teen), but that does not excuse the end result - 9 out of ten are pure evil by the point they are in pattaya
I want to maybe marry local regular Thai lady I been watching her you tube make Malee Miss queen of Pattaya Thai lady Miss malee factory worker but as far as I know not sex trade worker even though on her you tube she does pretty explicit stuff showing her body off.she is from isan Today.her hometown video very moving video
@@LeslieHorvath-r6y In the late '90s I bought this book called _The Sex Lover's Book of Lists_ . Maybe it was written in the early or mid-nineties. But I remember that it said something like 15% of prostitutes had HIV.
An accurate summary of the life of bar girls in Thailand. He did, however, leave out the ones that are sent to this work by their parents so that their parents can benefit from their daughter's earnings. More common than most will admit to.
You have found GOLD my man !!!! This guy is one of the BEST story tellers I have EVERY heard! I could listen to him for HOURS! Please tell him he NEED to write a book on his life experiences cause I would buy I in a second!!! That story he told about the girl jumping to her death and the Japanese guy showing up the very NEXT day was one of the SADDEST things I have EVER heard! This man is an entertaining WEALTH of knowledge! What a life! Thank you for sharing him with the world! Please tell him we absolutely LOVE his stories! Respect! 🤔👍🏾
I agree: he is a very good and pleasant storyteller indeed ! And if he writes a book about his experiences I'm 100% sure that it would be an exceptional and very entertaining book.
what a straight talking bloke. very refreshing to have no ego, just truthful information the way he's experienced it. if there was more openness around the world when talking about these sort of subjects then the girls could probably be better protected. same thing is happening in every country with different degrees of visibility, it'll never go away so why not get it out in the open and make it safe for everyone?
I’ve met a few guys like this in Thailand except they had most of their teeth. They’re great to hangout with and have a few beers with great stories and insight.
This is actually a really good and interesting video/interview. An interviewer who knows it’s best to let your subject speak. Often the most articulate and interesting people are those with nothing to hide - completely comfortable in his own skin.
Having lived in Pattaya for 25 years. I married a bar girl I have a lot bar girl friends, I would say Paul is right on about everything. Thanks for bringing light to the sex trade. Some girls have very sad lives and many die at a young age. It really Fxxks up the girls. If lucky they find a price before they are in the biz to long. Excellent video Pete. Loved every second.
It is true about ex bargirls leaving the bar behind, in my hometown in Australia, there was a woman who ran a small Thai shop in a food court. There was something about her that made me think she was an ex-mamasan. I struck up a conversation with her, and she shared with me that there were ex-bar girls married to Australians who couldn't settle down. These women would often divorce their husbands and spend all the settlement money they received on gambling. While I was eating, a very attractive and tall girl entered the shop. She spoke to the woman in Thai and then left. The shop owner, who was previously a mamasan, informed me that the girl had received stacks of jewellery from a local criminal. She ended up pawning the jewellery to fuel her gambling addiction, and now the criminal is searching for her.
Imagine if you got mixed up with that girl, and then the criminal decides if he can't get his money from the girl, he'll just take it from you. A friend of mine started dating a Russian girl. It turned out she was divorced. Her ex husband was a Russian policeman, who paid someone to come around to her place and beat her up. When my friend found this out he was worried that maybe someone might be sent to beat him up. And then, after only living together for a few weeks, she announced she was pregnant. They had been together in total for 8 weeks. And to top it all, she was a total c??t. He really made a bad life decision ...
@@Czechbound The Mama san told me she had an arm full of gold bangles. Many of these girls would get back into prostitution, as being exploited and exploiting others is pretty much all they know.
Gotta be one of.. if not the best interview you’ve done Pete!? I’ve watched this now numerous times and I’m always glued to every word Paul says. Such an intriguing, interesting character with some of the greatest stories to tell! All the interviews you have done with him are top notch. And you must be super made up with the views and likes they have received? Top man for bagging the legend that is Paul fella! 🙏🏻👍🏻
@@ThairishTimes I bet buddy?! He’s extremely honest and captivating when telling stories about his life and how he came to be where he is today. I saw or hear a rumour recently that you had said in a live stream that you’d like to interview Sean King, AKA @Vlogging a dead horse? Is this true? I can’t seem to find the stream? But I’d love to see that come into fruition! Although he’s in Vietnam right now so… not sure if that fits in your geographic? Keep up the grand job you do buddy 👍🏻
"Too Much Analysis Leads to Paralysis" .. Ive been going to Thailand for 20 years and lived there for a total of 6. The dynamics are continuously changing through the different generations of bargirls. Plus things differ in different regions. Interesting to hear his experiences. Thanks for rhe vid and stories. "Enjoy the Moment"
Yeah I live in bang saray and covid has certainly made the monger scene more challenging as hotter girls have got use to onlyfans and bars have now got ridiculous bar fine prices. Besides a couple of regulars off soi6 who see me outside working hours I strictly stick to thaifriendly now
All depends where you live in Thailand ..if you live in a known bar area thats totally different then living in the countryside ...girls and locals are totally different..
Great great interview Pete. Love Paul’s storytelling. The topic is so fascinating to me and I’m so glad to hear from him about these girls’ sides of the story. I think some of Western culture doesn’t understand how hard it can be in 3rd-world countries and that these girls are just trying to make a living and initially help their family. It’s great that he’s given them a voice and I’m glad you Pete are sharing this interview with us all.
Life is not hard. My Girl from the bar bought herself a new iPhone for 18.500 Baht. And next day she bought a new original Gucci bag. No Copy. 😊 Mama ? buy her a new gold ring for 20.000 Baht. Mama has 3 houses. Her australian Boy friend give her 4.000.000 Baht, for Help. ❤ Money number one. ❤ Try to make a living and Help the Family? Or Prostitution?
They're young girls! Sometimes i feel they can be really dumb, when their minds r lost in desire for all things material. I wish they had better guides to help them with their initial desire to help their families out. Sweet women but lost in a chaotic chase of (a want for) it all. I am lucky I am not a Thai girl. I'm a good looking but not too smart guy myself 😂 Even though I have a decent job in the video game field now and the past decade, I think back and wish I had better guides. People to tell me that I had it in me to be smarter. I know that I am now. And I'm a lot smarter than a lot of my friends and colleagues. I suddenly like and am good at math and love programming although im not good at the latter just yet. But i am in the 40s now. I am afraid I would have gone down the same path these girls went down. I wish people believed in each other more, especially the not so smart ones 😅 Heart breaking! Thank you so much for making this interview! And for the stories, Mister. I just got back from Thailand a week ago, didn't want to have sex with anyone there afraid of diseases. But met some girls who were so genuine, it broke my heart and tore my mind up. Been looking to understand what the hell is going on in Thailand. One taxi driver mentioned that there is almost zero percent poverty in Thailand. And these girls r doing this only cuz it's easy money! Been feeling guilty I didn't give back enough to some of the girls I bought drinks for. I am glad to hear that you respected the ladies you took back to spend the night with. I really liked hearing that in your stories. Thank you again! So sorry for dragging this on.
This is great interview, and actually it's very very accurate for that industry. Having lived in Thailand for many years and knowing the environment he talks about, many people in the bars etc. everything he said is spot on how it is. Its an intriguing world to dip into.
I had a period in my life where I was addicted to strip clubs and it was the most depressing period of my life. I think the life of a sex tourist must be unbelievably bleak
@stephendacey8761 no regrets huh? Obviously, you didn't end up dating one. Fortunate move on your part. Strippers are great until you date one. That ended any fascination I ever had. Now those places make me feel sick to my stomach.
@@johnbarber7952I hear you. Well, for me it was all about having fun and not getting to be any girl's "regular". The girls pretty much knew I liked a different girl every night so really never pressured me for lap dances or to go to the Champagne room. I wasn't cheap, but selective. I went very often, but today it's not like back when the girls were hotter. Too many fatties and tats now. As for dating, many strippers warned me to not date strippers. Haven't gone in over 6 years.

Wow. Such a powerful and thought provoking interview. Thank you so much to both of you for discussing this hard to discuss topic. Absolutely epic. Thanks Pete and Tony!
Yes, they say that 40,000 dentists called this site so, they can pull out his last tooth for FREE. I suggest he use a tie, string, and a door knob. I wish they start a go fund page for this guy, for permanent dental implants. He needs it for his 40th birthday!
Thanks for sharing your story. I have to say your story about sex workers is different from what I know. Your story showed different angles of these poor girls. I am involved with ministry that helps woman who are trapped in sex trade. A lot of them came from poor families. Some are single mothers who are abandoned by their husbands. Some of them have abusive husbands or boyfriends. A lot of them have drug problems. The saddest part is that some of them are still children. Thailand is one of the countries that can't do anything much about sexual child exploitation. I hope there will be a big change with the new government in term of laws reform regarding this issue. I pray that God will bring light to this darkness in my beloved country 🙏
Lol. God if anything is to blame that prostitution exists in the first place making the 2 sexes so different that it's seldom we get along with each other for long
your views are through Religious-tinted glasses and mostly people have lost their religion - but not working girls. You pray to a different God than they do though. The girls live a life that astounds/shocks westerners but not their fellow Thais. Families survive because of these girls, they put themselves through "hell" to feed their families. If there is a God, then someone needs to tell him to pull his finger out.
Thank you for saying this... So many men are making excuses and pretending there is a lot of choice involved. It is necessity, survival and really tough.
Hi Pete, it's very wonderful that you have made an amazing interview with Paul. Please make many more interview with Paul. I've watched all the video related to Paul and it is very very very staggering! He game me a second chance feeling as if I'm listening a life experience story from my grandpa that have passed away 5 years ago. He gave valuable life lessons and experience too. All the best Pete for the upcoming video! and if you're reading this Paul, I wish you and your family well too, and be blessed with great health so that you can live longer than my grandfather (100 years).
Thailand is one of the cheapest places to have full teeth. The cost of dental care in Thailand is significantly lower than in many other countries, including the United States, Canada, and Europe. For example, a full set of porcelain veneers in the United States can cost upwards of $20,000, while in Thailand, the same procedure can be done for as little as $5,000
I've spent 30 years on and off living in Thailand, I'm now retired here for 10 years, Back in 2000 I was partying in Bangkok 75 baht to the pound and I was working in the Uk making a fortune the same as Paul I lost count the girls I partied with but exactly the same as him I played the Game no bullshit, no shortchanging no false promises just great times together and always made friends with the girls beyond doubt the happiest times of my life............. Take it from me I was a partner in a Bar for 10 years and Pauls's description is spot on, the falang bar scene, back in those days was a subculture, and none of the guys I knew were interested in marriage just good old-fashioned Rock and Roll.
I'm a late comers to the Thai monger scene but can't for the life of me see how you can make friends with a sex worker you're mongering on and not have them try to boyfriend you and then ghosting you when they see they ain't gunna get you. I'd believe a couple of them might turn out that way but don't believe most would
Paul is an absolute treasure of the bar/sex industry. He's been there, done that. Such an insightful interview Pete. Thanks, and all the best to Paul.😊
Recently found your channel through the Tim Newton interview, watched the one with Bryan as well and now watching this one it definitely resonates with me. About to watch the Tony Huge interview after this but I just wanted to say thank you for sharing these stories and giving people new perspective through your content
So far I haven't met an expat that has been in Thailand longer than myself. I know of some that have been here longer but never met them. I first came to Thailand in 1968 as an GI on R&R from Vietnam twice. However I was stationed in Saigon and unlike must American GI's I was having a ball in Saigon and found the Vietnamese women more beautiful than the Thai girls. During my time in Vietnam I feel in love with Asia and wanted to see more of it. I got a job when I got out of the Army making cars on a assembly line and a year later 1969, I was in Thailand with a back pack I wanted to go back to Vietnam but the war was going on. Having studied art in America I was able to get into Silapakorn University having a student visa I had the time to travel all over Thailand, Laos and Cambodia. However, my founds were limited but at that time the girls were 20-100 baht so I managed. After a year I realized that Thailand was where I wanted to live but my problem was money. To solve that problem I returned to the U.S. and using my GI bill went to my State University (LSU) and got a degree in Engineering. 4 months after graduating I got a job in Vietnam for 6 months then moved to Bangkok where I got a job with a American company with an oilfield construction project in New Guinea working 4 weeks on and 2 weeks off. Finding a house to rent in Bangkok I used that house for 8 years starting in 1972. From that New Guinea project I went on to working in Africa, Middle East, Indonesia and Thailand. Did not get married until I was 51 and then to a Thai girl 24 years younger than me. She was better educated than me having a Masters degree in Pharmacy Administrations from the U.S. (I have a bachelor's degree) . We have been married 25 years and have a 16 year old son. I made good money while working and most of my work was in remote areas so I lived in camps when I was single and my company paid for everything, housing, food, transportation etc. so I managed to save alot of my earnings not having a wife until I was 51 ment I was well off and marrying to a pharmacist ment I had married an asset not a liability. I retired 9 years ago my wife due to her education is no longer a pharmacist but a division manager with one of Thailand's largest health care provider that not only pays her well but provides free heath care for both me and our son. So how did that happen? Mostly having priorities and sticking to them. I am now 76 in perfect health, stopped all the bad habits smoking, drinking and whoring when I got married.
💯🏆👈👀 Congratulations on a life well worth living... I'm here in the Philippines.. On the same page.. Would love to hear more of your story.. Can we connect with you and your family.. Looking at visiting Thailand in August.. Bringing the wife and 2 boys ..Their 1st time visit... 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
Thanks for your honesty Paul. And thank you for being a man amongst many so called men that don't even know that there is magic in respecting and feeling for others. 25:55 Very good interview with Paul. Excellent insight for anyone going to Thailand for the nightlife. Went for the first time last January and had a great time. Be nice, respectful and upfront is key. Met some great people while was there and remain friends with a few to this day. Getting to know the Thai culture a bit will go a long way as well.
Only managed to watch this one now Pete and Paul, very interesting and also nice to see you guys on the livestream last night, I hope it will become a regular thing with Paul occasionally featuring too!
I had a relationship for few months with a girl in Pattaya, thinking she was different, and my life became a nightmare, lies after lies about her fake real work (shop online she said like everyone), lies about university (never done), sending me fake pics of hospitals to get my money (from google, like i am stupid), caught her on dating apps looking for customers (several accounts), chatting with farangs on whatsapp during our holiday with me (german men), asking money for family and was for herself (she had big debts). I tried to give her advice and help on find a good job, study more or meet good friends and people, she was too lazy and always rejected my help to be a better person. She spent her days getting drunk, waking up at 12, playing youtube and asking money. Now is over, luckily for me. I wonder how men can take in their countries girls like these, or send monthly salaries. They just complain about everything, and i am not taking home a lier, prostitute or problematic girl. Lesson learnt!
Sounds like you had one of the worst of the worst ladies. They are not all like that, all have different degrees of greed & deciet & probably how long they have been working in the bar, im assuming you never invested too much of your hard earned cash on her?....
it is so fascinating that some people must burn their hands first like children before applying basic logic and critical thinking... anyway, this one tooth guy in interview is trying to make these cold-hearted no empathy humanoids more human-like but they are simply just exploitative loveless monsters, of course that they are not born that way - even their own mother pimp their daughters in southeast asia but even his fairy tale story about girl starting bar-career and catching first before no customers before (bull on that for sure too) is not portraying nice girl but a gold-digger at best.... like that story was supposed to made me feel something positive? those guys lying to liars and dumping them after holidays cracked the code.... it is just a game for both sides, some smart dirty farangs go to thailand for fake love and all lady workers are looking for money (sponsoring or husband) - there never will be love involved, the best one can get is no drama

Tks Guys, first time to Thailand, got bar girl pregnant, returned to Thailand, brought her back to America, married her, our daughter was born in the USA. Her Thai friend in our town was dating a powerful attorney. In court I lost everything, my house my car and was told to leave the house and pay her child support and pay her attorney's fees. I was devastated, this was my only child, the house had been in my family for 40 years, I was married for 6 months, lost it all. I told the judge she was not a little flower; she spoke more languages than I did. While in court to wrap up the divorce, while sitting outside waiting for the Judge to return, the court bailiff, heard her attorney say to my x wife, stop speaking English in the court room. He went and told the judge what he had heard, the judge called her and my attorney into chambers, she was furious, and said the kid is telling the truth about her. The judge gave me full custody of our 6-month-old child, her mom could only visit our daughter while under state supervision. She got a new boyfriend, lived with him, during a fight she threw pot of boiling water at him, he called me and was in tears, he flew her back to Thailand, I have not scene her since then, for 16 years not one word about how her daughter was doing, then out of the blue she called and said, I married a man from Norway, he is a millionaire and they had a daughter. I can not tell you how angry I was, hurt. Now that time has passed, I raised my daughter she is 26 years old, best thing to ever happen to me. The hate has gone away replaced with sadness, her mom grew up on the Thai Border, during the Khmer Rouge time, the things she saw and experienced has left deep scars, her current husband is a decent guy, helped her with depression, therapy, I think back and would do it all over again, being a father is the best, hardest thing ever to happen to me. SE Asia has its spell on me still, moved to Cambodia when my daughter was 6, ran a little dive boat business, have been back 5-6 times, and as recently as 2022. I appreciate your talks, have watched this channel for some time, great job, Cheers. Pop,s Fl.

Exactly my wife's family are farmer's, the children have normal job's, my wife's a nurse now and still only earns about 15k a month, it's more than enough for her to live on, her family live okay on less than that with a little help from the children, it's definitely a choice, I know many families around us that live on a combined income of around 12k a month and putting their children through school, it's just greed and trying to find an easy way out, everyone who lives around us, has hardly anything but they're the happiest people I've known in my life

Too sad. One time I went in the bars met this young women with three children whose husband had been killed so she was there crying her eyes out. 'What can I do?' she was asking me. Great & honest interview, saw a lot of Thailand back in the 90's & completely agree with what Paul says. It's great to hear it described from the girl's point of view, so to speak.
Fantastic insights from Paul. I've been to Thailand and to the bars there and I always wondered how the bar girls go about their lives. Feel really sad for the girls there.
Thankyou for the great experience hearing you - All you said is 100% True - Nowadays its a totally different game though with the Online Social Media thing - Most girls work through Online Apps making it easier for them giving them more opportunity - Thats why you see all the girls constantly tapping on their phones whether its in the street - at your hotel room - in the clubs - in the bars - its a Game-Changer and thats why the bar business that used to work before is having a hard time and will soon be done and dusted and expired - The Online social media stuff has given the tool for the Girl to be a freelancer not needing mamasans and bars and gogos ! Thanks again I must admit that you really touched me DEEPLY when you said that story of the japanese guy and the thai girl that cut short her life from the balcony .... I had tears in my eyes honestly hearing that - Godbless and take care both of you !
Pete did you return to Thailand for this interview? Or was this one recorded a long time ago? Nice chill and serene location. Time sure flies when Paul is reminiscing!
Ole 1 tooth is a master story teller and those stories are pretty much similar to the stories I have from living in Vietnam for a decade in the past. A cast of characters you just can't find at home in Boredville Australia. Drugs of choice with hired comfort ladies always make a great story. 👍 Great job Paul you are a legend🤙🤙🤙🤙
Yep. I'm so happy weed is legal now as I am pretty much addicted to high sex. The only issue for me is only 2 of my giks smoke with me. The other 3 straight out refuse. Fortunately though they are natural horndogs and shag like they're high. But I do miss a few past giks who have now moved on with sponsors and other parts of Thailand who use to get on the gear with me and have really intense high sex. Only met 2 meth heads though who were also amazing lays be it I hate that drug personally
Legend? Did you ever see him eat STEAK? He also beat Joey Chestnut back in the 90s at the Nathans hot dog eating contest. I always enjoy listening to paul. Hope yourself and your lovely wife are after settling into life in Ireland. I'm 12 years happily married to a thai lady myself and we have a gorgeous little 7 yr old. Life in Ireland is treating us well and of course we look forward to our holidays back to Thailand 🇹🇭🇮🇪👍
4th type of girl. She gets pregnant 2 times, Thai husband leaves, she needs to make money for her family, kids stay with grandparents, she goes to work in the tourist industry and sends almost all money home.
Great video. He was very honest and that’s what made it great. I too had lived in Asia many years. Mainly in the Philippines. Everything he said was true. All of it. I too had taken quite a few girls back to my place. I too have always treated them with respect. Always. I would usually ask them to spend the night. No short time. I also paid them in advance by putting the money into their purse. When they were in the shower. I felt odd if I gave them the money directly. I would try and lessen the uncomfortableness for them. They appreciated it. They did. Plus the next morning I would invite them to have breakfast. Which usually they did. The bottom line is I wanted to try and show them some form of respect. Sure enough every time I saw the same girl she really wanted to be with me. Most if not all the women I was with were real 10’s. I was picky. They would usually approach me. Not me to them. There were some bad cases of guys mistreating them or worse. When I was in Hong Kong I remember the now infamous case of where a British banker took home a few girls from the bars. I think they were Indonesian. He ended up torturing and murdering them. They found the one girls body inside one of his suitcases. Was horrible. They got him and now he is in a prison in HK for the rest of his life. So it is a gamble for these girls. They are taking a chance. Because most of the time they simply don’t know the guy. I know some foreigners that have married some of these bar girls and ended up having great marriages. Some didn’t work out. It all depends. A crap shoot really. I remember most of the girls would tell me their favorite types of guys were American, British, and Australian. Their least favorite were Indian, and Arabs. This is what they told me. So to each her own.
Another great peter interview. I share his thoughts on Bar girls . While they do get labeled scammers and opotunistic . It is true they put with a hell of a lot . I know of many stories of them being misstreated and being scammed by foreigners. Its no wonder they develope a thick skin and become hardened.
This is a guy who really understands the life. Treat them like human beings (with respect), pay for the service with no BS, and make clear your situation and what you’re looking for. However, know when to say, no thank you. As for the mamasans, a good relationship with them just make the whole thing better. It’s like knowing the manager well at your favorite restaurant. Fly in your Thai iced tea? No problem. Hot and sour soup actually cold? No problem. No tits on your Bun Tom Thit Nuong? No problem. And yes, there are the sad cases. One (in the US) I ran into (almost literally) by chance was at least six months pregnant and going through drug withdrawal. She jumped in front of my car as I was driving home from late shift in a snowstorm. Don’t know how I didn’t hit her. She offered me services and I offered to take her to the hospital. She got angry and insisted she’d walk home (no jacket). We eventually compromised, and I dropped her off at a “friends” house. The building she ended up walking into was a crack house. This was over 25 years ago and it’s still as vivid as then.
Very well explained Paul, I might add that although cliches always have a kernel of truth there are always exceptions. I would like to point out the fact that like all of us they are individuals, and although they may work in an challenging (to say the least) environment doesn’t mean they are not good people, many of them are, at least to start with. I first came to Thailand in 77’ , sure, so much has changed, lived here now for over 10yrs & love it, just saying’. 😊 ,
Most of them do become (un+s in the sex industry unfortunately. I've certainly met quite a few horrible hookers in my mongering career. That's not to say some of them are good people
When it comes to the countries in Asia, there are ones that stand out for their intelligence and self-made success without relying on the Western world. North Korea, Vietnam and China are prime examples of this. These nations have taken their own paths towards development, rather than succumbing to the pressure of Western ideologies. Unlike Thailand, where there is a constant strive to please the Western world, these countries have maintained their independence and autonomy. North Korea, with its strict communist regime, has managed to become a nuclear power and a major player in global politics, all while resisting outside influences. Vietnam, on the other hand, has risen from the ashes of war to become one of the fastest-growing economies in the world. Their determination to rebuild and develop on their own terms is a testament to their intelligence and resilience. China, with its massive population and booming economy, has also defied Western expectations and become a major superpower. These countries have not relied on the West to dictate their development, but rather used their own resources and strategies to propel themselves forward. They have not succumbed to the pressure of conforming to Western ideals and have forged their own paths towards success. In contrast, Thailand has heavily relied on Western tourism and foreign investment, leading to a loss of cultural identity and a dependence on the West for economic stability. The intelligence and self-made success of North Korea, Vietnam and China serve as a reminder that true progress and growth come from within, rather than from following the ideologies of others.
Great interview and I agree with everything Paul says as I have also experienced most of the same (except a girl jumping out of the window .... so very sad). Always treat the girls with respect, never give them false hope of a better life unless you really mean it but also be very careful as you will not be the only boyfriend unless you marry them (even then no guarantee) and always remember her family will always come first ... buy hey no real difference to Western culture ...... it's just more up front in Thailand.
He probably didn't catch HIV. But I'm certain he caught some sort of STDs, just probably didn't show symptoms (and didn't get tested) while passing it to different girls. I'm sure he at least caught HPV.
What r the study papers that suggested that? As of 2023 usa has hiv rate 0.4% of total population & Thailand has 0.6% , South Africa has Highest, more than 10%
HIV is extremely difficult to catch as a hetero male. You practically need to have a cut on your wanger to get it from an infected partner. How he avoided the easier to get STDs though is amazing. I use to fukk girls I'd seen a few times bareback before I got chlamydia. I've saddled up every time since but then 2 years ago busted 2 condoms with the same girl ending up with mycoplasma. I sure learnt the Japanese made weak as piss condoms the hard way. Fortunately Trojan bareskins are tough as guts and actually really good for retaining sensitivity. The only thing I miss is that first minute of hot fudge
I could spend hours chatting with Paul. His observations are spot on. I had my share of adventures too back in the 80s. As he says, if you are respectful and make an effort with your appearance, you'll be rewarded with pleasant company.
Generally very good information from Paul. Certainly in the 80s and 90s Thais didn't have much info about foreign countries (outside of Hollywood movies), so there was the idea that these girls would find Mr Right and live a life of luxury in there country, but as the internet grew, Thais learnt about other countries, so many girls then want Mr Right to live with them in TH rather than a cold, wet Dublin, Manchester or Portland. The other thing Paul avoided was how big the domestic 'Adult Nightlife' is. It was certainly far larger (by head count) than the tourist side of the business in the 80s and 90s. It wasn't until sometime late-00s that the total money of the tourist side of the business grew to be bigger than the domestic side, and it's likely still larger headcount-wise now. Quite a few girls will start in 'local' Thai orientated nightlife and then will hear from friends how much they can earn in tourist 'Adult Nightlife', so they learn some English and go into it with their friends. When they get into tourist/international nightlife business they won't advertise that they started in the local business first, but a fair portion of them have.
Most mongers do. It's a part of the story to exaggerate. Like a common thing I've heard is 'i banged her for about an hour!' I mean how many women would be still enjoying getting rogered after an hour of penetration? Maybe 1 in 10,000. The monger scene is all about fakeness and part of that is the after story
What a delight being able to listen to Paul. A genuine well spoken guy, not looking to impress anyone, with heaps of experiences behind his belt and a sharp mind to see things for what they are. I would not mind running into him in person; there aren't many people like him around anymore.
These stories are life force of the human experience. Whether we condone them or not, it is real... This is life, and this is the way... I really respect the O.G.
I was first in Thailand back in the day, this is good account of the scene. Though just to note, a more accurate title would the sex industry for foreigners, which is small compared to the sex industry for Thais.
One of the best and most insightful explanations of Thailand's sex industry that I have seen, and I speak with some experience, having been here, on and off, since 2016.
Pete and Paul, thank you for one of the best videos that I've ever seen. Intelligent, empathetic and indepth look at the sex trade and the girls (human beings), often derided, who populate that world.

This is the third interview I've seen with Paul as the guest; each one is fascinating.
what separates you Pete from the vast majority of other interviewers ( coincidently often americans, what a shock !!!) is that its clearly apparent, you don't feel the need to bombard your subjects unnecessarily with question after question, by letting them speak, with perfectly phrased and timed questions you effortlessly let their stories flow thus rendering any questions the typical deficient interviewer might ask, redundant.

Once a whore, always a whore.

Been looking to understand what the hell is going on in Thailand.
One taxi driver mentioned that there is almost zero percent poverty in Thailand. And these girls r doing this only cuz it's easy money!
Been feeling guilty I didn't give back enough to some of the girls I bought drinks for.

Thailand is one of the cheapest places to have full teeth. The cost of dental care in Thailand is significantly lower than in many other countries, including the United States, Canada, and Europe. Great interview , Paul has got a good handle on the situation. The bottom line is treat everyone with just a little bit of respect.
Good for you ! :)

@@baz69er13 exactly, as i am not rich i was giving her very little money, but she was not in the bar, she was a "freelance" or girls sleeping in hotels, thats very common now in pattaya. She kept staying with me, no idea why as i wasnt providing almost nothing, she didnt even want to stay in my apartment in bangkok, wonder why. Too bad its not a longer interview. So very true what he has to say. God have mercy, Thailand Paul
Excellent interview with great insight into the World of sex workers. An honest and great perspective from an ex-pat that has lived there for such a long time and knows the ins & outs of this topic. Thank you for your presentation.
Prostitutes.
And paying to rape.
Pop,s Fl.

Wow what a brilliant interview makes a change to see a proper chat for a change I’m glad I clicked on it thank you I enjoyed that
Hey man it was awesome to meet you in person last night
Hey buddy it was a pleasure. Thanks for the Guinness and great conversation
I am Thai and My family also poor we are working on the farm and not making much money but we have no options, and I’m sorry to disagree with you about they were poor, It’s just an excuses they’re just want the easy and good money for it. That’s the truth!!
Exactly my wife's family are farmer's, the children have normal job's, my wife's a nurse now and still only earns about 15k a month, it's more than enough for her to live on, her family live okay on less than that with a little help from the children, it's definitely a choice, I know many families around us that live on a combined income of around 12k a month and putting their children through school, it's just greed and trying to find an easy way out, everyone who lives around us, has hardly anything but they're the happiest people I've known in my life
Well that’s right. Great respect for pure girl as u. I married one as u. Way better can’t sure share my all life with a bar girl. U girls are the winner at the end. ❤

Too sad. One time I went in the bars met this young women with three children whose husband had been killed so she was there crying her eyes out. 'What can I do?' she was asking me. "I must feed my children.' But she didn't go ahead with that work but found some advertising work. I only pray she is alright now.
But you paid for sex or just nothing.
She's playing you I'm on holidays I don't want to her bullshit stories begging for money 💵 😂 !
This is amazing to listen to. Some happy stories, but also some incredibly sad ones.
I agree 100% with Paul's views, especially in treating the girls with respect and being polite, honest and fair with them.
What a great interview. Thanks for sharing.
Pete did you return to Thailand for this interview? Or was this one recorded a long time ago?
Nice chill and serene location.
Time sure flies when Paul is reminiscing!
His story, his voice, his accent! What a top notch storyteller!
Time well spent for me. Thank you.
Ole 1 Tooth! Ha ha that cracked me up!
Fact is, Obe-wan-tooth is a seriously good storyteller and a natural actor. And his singular tooth only adds street cred. Excellent vid.
Legend? Did you ever see him eat STEAK? He also beat Joey Chestnut back in the 90s at the Nathans hot dog eating contest. It was a shame as he was punched in the mouth after the event which caused the teeth to fall out. SAD. Start a GO FUND ME SITE for this man for PERMANENT IMPLANTS! Make his teeth GREAT AGAIN!
"1 tooth" LMAO!
I can see why they like you, Paul, you seem like a great guy with a lot of empathy. Great company in a relaxed setting like Thailand.
Great storyteller. If I were you, I'd feature him once a month, on a regular basis.

And I mean...TOOTH brush! And boy, does that tooth sparkle!!

VERY interesting AND insightful interview!
This guy is a great storyteller.
4th type of girl. She gets pregnant 2 times, Thai husband leaves, she needs to make money for her family, kids stay with grandparents, she goes to work in the tourist industry and sends almost all money home.
True.
The one tooth made this the greatest interview ever on UA-cam.
All the girls you took home were 10's in looks , you were picky and they all approached you , good story bro
prostitutes are never s 10's lol

I share his thoughts on Bar girls . While they do get labeled scammers and opotunistic . It is true they put with a hell of a lot . I know of many stories of them being misstreated and being scammed by foreigners. Its no wonder they develope a thick skin and become hardened.

Great interview, thank you for sharing your unique perspective on the Thai bar-sex life
This is a guy who really understands the life.
How the HELL do you treat a hooker with respect????
U mean jumped inside ur car
Very well explained Paul, I might add that although cliches always have a kernel of truth there are always exceptions. I would like to point out the fact that like all of us they are individuals, and although they may work in an challenging (to say the least) environment doesn’t mean they are not good people, many of them are, at least to start with. I first came to Thailand in 77’ , sure, so much has changed, lived here now for over 10yrs & love it, just saying’. 😊
,
Most of them do become (un+s in the sex industry unfortunately. I've certainly met quite a few horrible hookers in my mongering career. That's not to say some of them are good people
Thank you Pete for bringing Paul into the light again!
I really enjoyed that. Paul is a great story teller and you can tell he has had a fascinating life too.
Another belter, Pete. Fascinating interview.
It's baffling that he never caught an STI.
Doesn't Thailand have one of the world's highest rates of HIV?
Probably because HIV doesn't exist.
HIV is nonsense. Pure virus quackery bullshit. Just like 'sars cov 2.'
Always a great interview with Paul Pete. He is completely open. I respect that. Horrible story regarding that woman that took her life.
I could spend hours chatting with Paul. His observations are spot on. I had my share of adventures too back in the 80s. As he says, if you are respectful and make an effort with your appearance, you'll be rewarded with pleasant company.
Another great episode with Paul, amazing guy with an incredible life experience! Were you back in Thailand to record it? Or pre recorded?
Pre recorded
Personally I think this guy blows things up a little
Don’t we all, especially yanks. Never let the truth stand in the way of a good story.
@@jamesritchardson5771 agree
Most mongers do. It's a part of the story to exaggerate. Like a common thing I've heard is 'i banged her for about an hour!' I mean how many women would be still enjoying getting rogered after an hour of penetration? Maybe 1 in 10,000. The monger scene is all about fakeness and part of that is the after story
So good to listen to a voice with experience, talks from both sides. A very handy guy to learn from
What a delight being able to listen to Paul.
