Really liked this - I've lived on SK on & off since '85 - a lot has changed - back then the island vibe was way more energetic & fun with the Summerhouse & Blueberry Hill/Magic Moment restaurants anchoring the dining & dance scene for large crowds - now it's just small bars - Turtles is still nice - and back in the day you could rent catamarans/water bikes right off the beach - not anymore (insurance liabilities) - traffic & the red tide are worse now - shut down the entire FL west coast in 2018 - condo prices are thru the roof now in high season - a $750/mo unit in '86 can be $5,500+/mo now - pricing many working class & young families out - now it's more for wealthy retirees - the nature/beach/gulf are still magical tho - didn't have tiny houses back then - a nice option for those more interested in the locale than amenities - brings back great memories - even wrote an illustrated book about this region - thanks for this video!
Really nice energy from all 3 of you . . .-ALL of you have really nice personalities. . Thanks. . Great job -- this is fun to watch (more than several times - actually has become our 'reference' video) and we also have planned our trip for December. . . starting at staying in the Tiny Houses, then SK Rum, then SKOB, then St. Armands Circle.
Good luck avoiding paid parking, crime, traffic ect. We just spent our 20th anniversary in SK and enjoyed it. I guess it depends on what your looking for in a trip.
Just planned our trip off this video! Thank you!!
That is fantastic! Let us know what your favorite spots are. We have more fun videos coming soon.
