Jerry is a seemingly normal man trying to succeed in his new job at the Milton Bathtub Factory. He lives in a normal apartment the type you would expect from a young bachelor with his dog, Bosco, and his cat, Mr. Whiskers. Yet something seems off. As the new guy at work, Jerry is asked to help plan the company picnic, and he meets Fiona, an attractive English girl from accounting. Jerry immediately takes a liking to Fiona and excitedly goes home to tell his pets about her. And surprisingly, they answer. But all this is just the beginning of an insanely bizarre and twisted tale.

Symon Alex not really cuz like said this trailer seemed a more dark humoury type thing where everything is just suppose to be funny and no consequences towards the end. But nope this movie enters the dark prison of a schizo and its just depressing how the movoe makes you realise hard it is to help people like Jerry and without people around people like Jerry they make really bad decisions with consequences they dont necessarily deserve. Trailer happy, movie sad. so i dont really agree with this showing too much.

never though ryan reynolds would scare the s out of me one day but he did . good for him . i always thought he sucked as an actor but this movie showed me a different side of that guy , a talented side ! hope they give him more stories like this
Ryan Reynolds is a great actor. People need to stop blaming him for Green Lantern and Origins: Wolverine. His acting had no thing to with how awful they were, he worked with the awful script he had.
Zombie ducklings understands why green lantern was bad they didn't even have a script when Ryan Reynolds audition for green lantern and way too much cgi for the costume they didn't know what direction they were going with the movie green lantern it was just bad planning

Yes! Preach! I think he was an added bonus to X men origins: Wolverine... I was actually sad that he wasn't in the movie more as Wade before he's turned into Deadpool. I have always adored him since 2 guys, a girl and a pizza place! Love him! Can't wait for this movie, it's going to be great!

Zombie Ducklings But he read the horrible scripts for both films before agreeing to star in them just like any actor or actress does. Those two films will forever be a part of his film credits so in a way he is to blame.
This deserved waaaay more notice than it got. Ryan is amazing, everyone in this movie is on point, you can watch this again and again and catch something different each time. A masterpiece.

Yaxye Ali definitely it is disturbing but it has some very comical scenes it's all done with a wry sense of huimour to it like PYTHON like style except it's about a serial killer and played out with a better script acting and an actual decent plot!! ENJOY!!
This is the reason why Ryan Reynolds will make an excellent DEADPOOL. He made a fantastic and hilarious dark comedy. Let's hope he can make a big comeback with the Marvel character.

I love the concept of this movie because it really seems like its able to show a boiled down perspective of what people with schizophrenia tend to deal with; hearing voices. I really had a guest lecture at my school regarding mental health and this was one of the things he was talking about. But because of this movies premise,im not sure how people who work with people with mental illness as part of their jobs are gunna react to this movie, im a bit wary

***** I had a guest lecture at my university on someone who works with different kinds of people suffering from different mental illnesses. Granted I don't have a PhD like he does, but one of the distinctions he made between Bipolar, Mania and Schizophrenia were that these people suffering from the latter often hear voices, voices that don't tell them good things. I'm not assuming or believing anything from the media, rest assured I got it from a pretty reliable source

***** Please don't spread misinformation. While hearing voices is a common symptom for individuals suffering from schizophrenia, it is also a common symptom of many psychotic disorders. Also, not all individuals with Schizophrenia hear voices. So no, you will not automatically be diagnosed with schizophrenia if you hear voices.
***** You cannot expect everyone to be an expert on mental illness. People make assumptions about mental illness all the time. I hope he does not do so in the future but that is no reason to infer he is stupid. As for the guest speaker, I am sure he tried to simplify a subject that is incredibly complex into one lecture the best he could. And most chances he was speaking to an audience that did not have much knowledge about mental illness to begin with. It is possible that CrazyFanaticMan misinterpreted what was being said. It is true that hearing voices is more common in Schizophrenia than in Bipolar disorder. But one does not get a PhD without knowing anything.

90 percent dark and 10 percent comedy. Very good though
I absolutely loved this film, although I can see how the genre blending, or lack of identity, could throw off some viewers. While this movie is funny at times, its really quite a dark film, and I found myself not actually laughing at the "light-hearted" aspects of the story, because how dark the reality of it is. Reynolds was fantastic. 8/10.

One of the best Dark Comedies ever.
This movie actually turned out to be even better than i was expecting it to be. Saw it three days ago and i still keep laughing at it in my head lol. a lot deeper then i thought it'd be too. Jerry is such a well thought out and written character, you really do get to experience his insanity and the true depth of the darkness of his world from that brief moment when he goes back on his bills and the light and color vibrance fade. really well thought out picture.

I'm so glad I saw this film because it was so enjoyable. It made me run through several emotions and you just want the character to find happiness. Great acting by Ryan as well
This movie, I was caught off-guard. I didn't expect any of that. I cried, the emotion I felt was deep. And I was very disturbed, this movie, the events that happened stayed in my mind for very a long time.
Highly recommend it.

This movie is freaking great! I really did not think that Americans could manage to make a really good dark comedy
(ok, beside American Psycho). There is this awkwardness and creepiness, this macabre feeling throughout the whole movie, where you ask yourself if you should laugh, and if you do, you might feel bad for having laughed :D That's how a good dark comedy should work, loaded with mixed emotions of all kind, without clear separation. And the acting, especially by Reynolds, is great. I don't say it is the best movie of this kind, but it is very refreshing to see something like this getting made, and shown to larger audiences.

Not a fan of slasher movies, but since it had Reynolds and animals that spoke to him, I was in. It's certainly one of the oddest movies I've seen, but there's a nice balance of the crazy, the funny, and the dramatic that pulls you in. At the end when Reynolds, or Jerry gets caught, I was expecting the usual, but oh no! there's mom and dad, the women Jerry murdered and Jesus all singing a happy tune. Reynolds does a great job of playing the psycho murderer hearing voices. It's dark humour but also takes a good look at the psychological profile of a serial killer who's lost it all but still, at least for awhile, is able to keep it together before his illness takes over and all hell breaks loose. It could be a prequel to Deadpool.

Very clever movie. It's unique which is pretty difficult these days. The writing, directing and acting is incredible. Anyone that fully gets this story will appreciate how intelligently this story is constructed & portrayed. Very smart work!

I normally don't have anything against dark humour, even on topics such as murder. But for some reason, this doesn't sit well with me. A whole comedy on a schizophrenic man murdering women?? It's gross, because both topics (mental illnesses and violence towards women) are so real but often not properly addressed in our society, that there is something about trivializing them that feels very wrong.
The trailer overplays the comedy aspect. There is humor in the movie, but it's used to highten the feeling of unease rather than counterbalance it. And I think this movie is great, although, not for everyone: it's dark and bizarre, so if you don't like it, that's totally OK

i think its an interesting opportunity to go into the mind of people like the man reynolds is portraying. Perhaps in some of their heads its kind of like that. It doesnt necessarily have to settle well with you, but u can still make use of it.

I watched this in the movie theater without watching the trailer first so I honestly thought it was another musical chick flick. Then we got into the movie theater and all of a sudden they were cutting up a human body to pieces and slashing a moose's throat. I loved it! Haha

The movie was great!! But it is a LOT darker than the trailer makes it seem! Its still really funny but its also tragic and surprisingly empathetic to its characters. This is NOT a fun slasher movie but it is a great one!

I visited my girlfriend house back back 2017, i was browsing her movie collection and saw this, didn't know this movie existed at that time lol. We end up cancelling the date and just ordered pizza and bought couple bottle of beers and watch this movie. It's pretty good lol
