It’s a very nice finish, very easy and simple to use. But, it does pack a little bit of a punch in terms of odor, so I wouldn’t be too surprised if it didn’t meet any unique VOC requirements in California 🤷♂️
To cover the wholes I'd countersink the holes and make a plug out of some of the scrap oak. Once you sand and finish it it'll be hard to see, especially from the same boards
Yes! I still haven’t gotten that far yet, as life and other projects get in the way of ever finishing anything. I’m torn between plugging the holes with grain matched oak, or to actually highlight the plugs with walnut in order to give the appearance of drawbored mortise and tenon joints 🤷♂️
