In this clip, Magnum gets Higgins back safe but his old client is looking for revenge so he takes Magnum with him leaving Higgins behind.

That look between them as he's taken is pure love and desperation all at once. He's realizes he will literally die for her and uses what he believes to be his last moments of life to comfort her, and in that moment she realizes he's the most important person in her life and she NEEDS to get him back.
Platonic or romantic, Magnum and Higgins genuinely loving each other was always the crown jewel of both versions of this show.
The more things change, the more they stay the same.

Eu particularmente não considero Magnum pi (2018) um remake considero uma obra adaptada.. Para ser remake o atual Magnum deveria se passar nos ano 1980. Essa versão tem várias diferenças que eu acho fundamental como por exemplo Higgins na versão atual e uma agênte secreta que o Robin a ajudou levando para Havai Enquanto na antiga o Higgins era o amigo de Magnum é no final com a morte do Magnum é revelado que o Higgins era o próprio Robin Master. Essa na minha opinião é a principal.
