So that is where the nuns got that info from! Heard it so many times when I was in elementary school. Music does touch our emotions. So yes, we feel more. But true love is not emotion. Adoration, incense and singing are wonderful ways for us to be closer to God. But I still like to know what I am singing. I can put my heart into it. Fr. Mark, I found the Traditional Latin Mass over a year ago and it changed my life. I was a cradle Catholic for 41 years and the new Mass doesn’t portray that the Holy Sacrifice of the Mass that is taking place and removes so many beautiful prayers. I was always under the impression that I was going to a meal. The TLM is focused on God - not the people. The Latin is beautiful and as you mentioned is a holy sacred language that was on Christ’s Cross. I regret not being able to attend this beautiful liturgy previously but am blessed that I was able to join a Fraternity of St. Peter Parish (FSSP) and attend now. To anyone who has a Latin Mass near them or one in driving distance, go and experience it for yourself! The recent UA-cam documentary “Mass of the Ages” does an excellent job introducing the Mass to any Catholics who didn’t know about it. I can only pray that Pope Francis will reverse his decision to ban the Latin Mass. All of the the parishes are booming with large, young, beautiful families. The Latin Mass emphasizes the REAL PRESENCE of our Lord in the Eucharist and will make you on fire for the Catholic Faith!!!! DEO GRATIAS!
I am learning the rosary in Latin. I have a special rosary set aside for when I learn it. I felt compelled to pray it this way. Cardinal Burke prays the Mysteries everyday on Facebook. I have learned the Ave and almost the Pater. I love it! You made me tear up Fr Mark when you sang in Latin. Thank You
I was a little girl when the Latin Mass ended. As a child, the Latin Mass, to me, was Mysterious, Holy, and Sacred. The Latin chants and the fragrance of incense were awesome. Even as a little child I felt the presence of God.🙏💕
Sorry, but the gay-blade priests of Vatican 2 didn't care about mysterious, holy, and sacred experiences. They only worshipped the altar boys. 2 Billion dollars and thousands of closed parishes later, the Pope and his minions still haven't learned anything.
@@ruthc8407 Interesting how only Catholic priests abused young boys. Not one other of the 30,000 Protestant Denominations did anything wrong? Look up some statistics. You will find out that the number one group of child sex abusers are: Fathers and stepfathers. I was sexually abused at 14 by a doctor, the person you are told to trust with your body. How ironic.
I should share this with the woman who works at our local religious center. I was telling her how much I love the TLM and would love to learn Latin. Her response made my jaw drop..."We are in the 21st century and don't need Latin." I'll pray for her.
When I was a child, I didn't understand what the Latin words meant but I just knew they were very special. As an adult, I loved the Latin Mass and hymns and cherish the few times when they are used now. God bless you, Fr. Mark 🙏.
Love that your Church’s youth group spends 30min in adoration! I helped out with a youth group briefly and got frustrated and left because I felt like every meeting was more about just hanging out and having fun than growing in relationship with Christ. People, and I think especially teenagers need to be told the truth of Jesus and our faith not just there to have fun
Don't forget about teens who do not yet know Jesus. We need youth groups where youth who do not yet know Christ can be evangelized through relationship with other youth who carry Jesus inside them. When youth have fun they want to go back.
Yes indeed, we need more youth groups in our parishes, and they must be led by Orthodox Catholics who understand and can communicate our faith effectively. Once the reach adulthood, there’s Catholic Christian Outreach (CCO) in Canada, which has been successful in evangelizing young at universities and bringing adults back to the Catholic faith, or lead them to conversion to the Catholic faith.
So true . One of my biggest regrets. Not making our daughter be Confirmed . I let her drop out of youth group because she said they just hung out and ate pizza . She is now in a Protestant church where she said she found Jesus so sad still praying for her to return to our holy faith
@@KCJohn316 This is true but even the few teens who have a relationship with Christ need instructed in the faith. I think it should be a balance in youth groups between prayer learning the faith and community
Hi Father, This was so beautiful. Thank you!! My parents grew up in the late 1920s and 30s and they knew all the songs in Latin. I loved seeing them sing out when, in modern times, our church would occasionally perform the Latin verse of a song. I really hope more of that comes back! Love and God Bless, Mary
I experienced the Rosary in Latin recently and can recommend it. The Rosary has a really good rhythm in Latin which makes it a joy to recite. There is a learning curve but it's definitely worth it.

Vatican II was implemented when I was in elementary school. Up until that time Latin was used in mass. I still remember the Latin hymns that were sung during mass. I saw how much the Catholic faith change over the years. It was disheartening to watch. Today I'm a Trad and I very blessed to be part of a Traditional Latin Church in my town in Montana. I say some of my prayers in Latin and it sounds so sacred and beautiful. It's so special to pray in the same way that my ancestors did through the ages.
"Elevate" is the perfect word, Father. When I attend the Traditional Latin Mass, I sense that, I, along with the incense and our prayers ascend, and experience some heaven on earth. Your talks are a blessing to all.
Father, I went to Catholic School and Latin Mass in the 1950's-early 60's. I sang songs in Latin with the children's choir for a few years. There was such a feeling of awe and respect for the holiness and love of the Lord. I truly felt like a member of the mystical body of Christ in those moments. Thank you for reminding me to sing to the Lord, and especially in Latin!
When God returns we will all be singing "oh come let us adore him". Advent is a big deal for his return I believe. My mom use to take me to Latin mass as child and even though I couldn't understand...I knew it was the most heavenly mass I ever been too.

After my first attendence to the priceless experience I want it nothing else but to attend the TLM as often as possible. My Novus Ordo Church is four blocks away from me but I prefer to attend a hurch that is 5.2 miles away from me because the TLM is celebrated after September 21 our Bishop / Cardinal Milton Gregory decided to rectrict the TLM. Six Churches are being affected by his roothless decision. God help us and give us the consolation to continue to attend the Traditional Latin Mass. Viva Cristo Rey. “If we want authenticity...” Consider it is not possible to bring back the Aramaic spoken by Jesus, as we simply do not have any written records. Consider that Latin was the medium of preservation of faith at least in the West for centuries. If one is Roman Catholic thus does it make sense to use Latin. We could make something up in Aramaic, bring it back maybe. But it would be about as new as the liturgy in (modern) Hebrew. There are elements of such a thing btw, it is there but who’d understand it but a select few people? Also, who would want it but a select few people? Unfortunately the Hebrew liturgy as it stands today is not something you’d see common outside Israel to begin with.

The Latin Mass is unchanging. It's a torch that's passed from generation to generation. It's never watered down or relaxed to accommodate the many fleshly desires of the world. It is consistent. When I hear it I feel the Holiness of God all around me. I say this as a greatgrandmother to you. I love you for caring so much. Thank you, Father, for all of your guidance and prayers and hard work.
I am overjoyed that you are discussing the use and importance of Latin! Especially with our young folks. As a very gratitude-filled Catholic convert of 10 years, I love all things to do with the Latin tradition, in particular, the uplifting music. It seems to me there is dearth of basic teaching in this area for many contemporary Catholics today, sadly. They feel no connection with it as use of these elements diminished by the decade, in the Church.
The study of Latin helped bring me to the faith. My son is a Latin teacher in a Catholic school. We can help keep the language alive by teaching our children to pray the rosary and other prayers in Latin. Gregorian chants lift the soul to much higher realms than common vernacular.

To say that Latin is one of the greatest treasures of the Roman Catholic Apostolic Church, is an understatement. I think of St. Jerome, of all the timeless art that Latin has inspired, of all the God-fearing, God-loving prayers that have been uttered in it, the love expressed in it, all those churches around the world adorned by words from the Vulgata, of all my ancestors joining together to worship in it, of all the souls that have returned to Christ because of it...I myself was one of those souls and can unequivocally say that where it not for the Latin, I would probably still be out there looking for answers to questions which only the Traditional Latin Mass can answer, whether it be with its silences or with its devout music. Fr. Goring, I have spent so much time listening to your voice, it is now as familiar to me as those that I interact with in daily life. God bless you and I thank you deeply for bringing attention to this important part of our Catholic identity. Someone said that "the quickest way to destroy a civilization is to teach the young not to respect it". I agree. Thank you for inspiring young people in embracing what is, after all, their birth right.

I had someone once explain it to me like this. Preserving the beauty of our churches, the artwork, statues, Latin chant and prayers not only ties us to all who came before us but it also signifies something special is going on there. Imagine being invited to a state dinner and you are are served a special meal for an important dignitary in a tent on paper plates with plastic silverware with red solo cups. Would that honor the special guest or be just another picnic… I don’t know how good the analogy is but it really made sense to me at that time. As you say Fr. Mark all the treasures of the church elevate our worship.

Fr. Mark, I sing at a parish in Winnipeg where we brought back Gregorian chant (during most of the mass... Novus Ordo, not TLM). The church is packed full, mostly families and young people. No one has complained, no one is leaving. The choir is mostly young adults. The choir director is one of the few experts in Canada in chant and polyphony. There is a greater sense of mystery as a result.
Thank you for this, Fr. Mark, so beautiful! I love the use of Latin in the Liturgy, especially when it is sung because of the sheer beauty, dignity and transcendent quality it has. I imagine the angels and saints are joining in too, and you can’t experience this same transcendent quality in the world.
Thank You
I found the Apostle’s Creed to be the most challenging, but you’ll get it eventually. Don’t give up.
Praise God!
I am as well - I agree the Apostle's Creed is the most challenging - God Bless!
What's that?
Apostles creed?
Rosary?
I was a little girl when the Latin Mass ended. As a child, the Latin Mass, to me, was Mysterious, Holy, and Sacred. The Latin chants and the fragrance of incense were awesome. Even as a little child I felt the presence of God.🙏💕
Me, also!
And I returned to the Mass of the Ages after covid nonsense.
Me too
Sorry, but the gay-blade priests of Vatican 2 didn't care about mysterious, holy, and sacred experiences.
Mark 🙏.
Beautiful! Thank you, Father Mark! Continued prayers for you and all of our clergy. God bless!
@@dschmid8845 That’s awesome I agree
Hi Father, This was so beautiful. Thank you!! My parents grew up in the late 1920s and 30s and they knew all the songs in Latin. I loved seeing them sing out when, in modern times, our church would occasionally perform the Latin verse of a song. I really hope more of that comes back! Love and God Bless, Mary
I experienced the Rosary in Latin recently and can recommend it. The Rosary has a really good rhythm in Latin which makes it a joy to recite. There is a learning curve but it's definitely worth it.
Am going to look that up. Jesus saved me from deep occult. When I pray Latin prayers they are more powerful. Having discernment I feel the extra power
Totally agree
When I returned to the faith I made it my goal to learn it in Latin. Needless to say I succeeded. Deo gratias

Wow.
Amen!
"Elevate" is the perfect word, Father. When I attend the Traditional Latin Mass, I sense that, I, along with the incense and our prayers ascend, and experience some heaven on earth. Your talks are a blessing to all.
Father someone is in personating you asking for$500 to be part of your book club and will give spiritual advice once payment goes through.
I encourage you to attend a Latin Mass soon if you can. I have gone to Latin Masses since 2020 and love them!
I strongly suggest attending a Christmas Midnight Mass this year.
@@brodyhagemeier9356 I agree. I don't know why but Satan was trying to stop my family from celebrating Christmas mass last year. When we do the Latin responses at our church during Advent & Lent, I feel more of a connection with my family members who have passed on, with the saints and our forefathers. It truly does elevate the sacred essence of the holy mass & I believe it’s more reverential. A beautiful reflection Father Mark. God bless you!

I have to confess that I am in love with The Traditional Latin Mass. The first time I attended The TLM was August of 2018. I will never forget it. Ave Maria Purisima gratia plena help us. Thank you so much Father Mark Goring. God bless you.
Where I live we are lucky to have a priest who drives 5 hours each way to bring our little group the TLM. He can only come twice a month, but we are so grateful.

“If we want authenticity...”
Consider it is not possible to bring back the Aramaic spoken by Jesus, as we simply do not have any written records.
Thank you Dear Fr. Mark for sharing! By God’s Grace - my teens have been taking Latin for many years as homeschoolers.

Wow!! Thank you, Fr.Goring! Beautiful teaching to help us Worship the Almighty Lord as we ought!
Caroline. Welcome to the family. Try to find your way to the Latin Mass. This is the essence of Catholicism.
I love praying in Latin. It's so beautiful to have a language set aside wholly for the worship of God.
I've always felt my spirit stir while singing, especially Holy/Latin songs. :)
Even when I don't understand the Latin, my spirit seems to.
The study of Latin helped bring me to the faith. My son is a Latin teacher in a Catholic school. We can help keep the language alive by teaching our children to pray the rosary and other prayers in Latin. Gregorian chants lift the soul to much higher realms than common vernacular.
One of the most noble actions you are doing, Father. God be with you.

I said prefered to go to the Latín Mass, when i tried to described the feeling especialy of the sung Latín Mass compared to the modern Mass. He said yes he understood and said the Mass is full with the Holy Spirit thats what you are feeling. God bless his soul he was a very special priest.

yes, Tantum Ergo is beautiful is it Aquinas? Latin is so beautiful and universal
Well described, Father, how the spiritual and transcendent is awaken in us.
Sadly, many have never or rarely experienced it.
Deo gracias, Father! ❤

Latin is very holy and sacred music to sing I grew up with the Latin mass in Catholic grade school and it was a such a beautiful Mass there was nothing like it. Thank You Fr. Mark and God Bless.
I Love listening to you father Mark you make my heart sing with joy For the lord ❤🙏🙏🙏

That's beautiful.
If we don’t always know what every Latin word means, I was once told that it doesn’t matter too much because the Lord knows, and it’s for His glory ultimately. God bless you Fr. Mark.🙏🏻

That is beautiful, Father. A priest once told me that Latin, Hebrew and Greek because they’re the three sacred languages. Awesome! No wonder I love Latin & Hebrew so much (I never had time to learn Greek- too busy learning Spanish and French.). 💕💖🙏🏼🙏🏼🙏🏼⚜️Viva Cristo Rey! ⚜️🕯🕊🌻🌷💜✨
Yes, the three languages on the Holy Cross.
You are such a Blessing Father Mark 🙏☦️🛐🙏
Latin is a beautiful language I enjoy it when ever used during the mass
There is something sacred about Latin
🙏🏻 Thank u, Fr. 🙏🏻
I love you guidance videos Father. I am not Catholic, but I get so much from them and my fill me with loving goodness. Viva Christo Rey!❤
Linda. Don't remain in the hall. Open the door and enter the room (C.S. Lewis). Join our Holy Society.
Thank you for sharing father... Ave Maria.... Viva Christ the King ,,..🙏
Wish I could give this more than just one upvote.
Every church should have kneelers and encourage communion on the tongue
We sang in Latin this morning at Mass, Agnus Dei. It was so Holy and heavenly. Thank you.
VIVA Father!!!
Latin is mysteriously and wonderfully beautiful.
AVE MARIA!!!
Music and song are wonderful gifts from God...!!!!!
Keep tellin' it , Fr. Mark...!!!
Beautiful 🌷
Thank you Father Mark 🌷
Every Catholic school should teach prayers in Latin every day, so it is ingrained in them from memory, so by the time they are in 3rd grade, they already have it memorized.
You've said some good stuff here Father, keep up the good work! Dominus vobiscum!
Latin was the language of the Romans and the Roman Empire. Greek was the common language of the people as well as Aramaic which Jesus spoke and likely Greek as well. If we want authenticity should we not sing in Aramaic or Greek? Latin was not the language of Jesus Christ.........it was the language of his crucifiers.

What’s your agenda, bud?
@@wayneroberts4144 have you not read the Book of Daniel my friend? Rome is the Empire that has been conquered by the Saints, it is our prize. When the last vestiges of the Roman Empire are swept away (the removal of the Katechon) the Antichrist will arise. That must be delayed as much as possible
So beautiful Father. Your explanation is 100% true.
Oh how I love the TLM! Grew up with the Latin Mass in the 50s and 60s. Left the Church and returned after 50 years to the Novus Ordo Mass. Yikes!! I got used to it but a growing dissatisfaction for something much more reverent pushed me to find a TLM parish. I cried the first time, it was a very emotional experience. A sense of finally coming home, my real home...outside of Heaven that is.
Yes, this! Me too.
Viva Christy Rei. When we sing we are joining with the angels in heaven to give praise to the Lord.
Thank you for bringing the youth to God and also the good work you are doing for the church
Father Goring is a fantastic Priest and a decent man we need more like him.
I go to evening mass a couple days a week and the responses are doing in Latin. I love it! Viva Cristo Rey!

Beautiful Father Mark, you just described perfectly what happens to our souls in the extraordinary form of the mass.
When we sing and praise God in Latin, is PURE JOY! I find myself singing Salve Regina, Mater Misericordiae...🎶
3 Aves for you, Father 🌹🌹🌹🙏🏻✝️
¡Viva Cristo Rey!
Absolutely Fr Mark I love leading song in Latin… Venite adoremus Dominum Gloria Patris et Filio et Spiritu Sanctus Amen
When I was a wee nipper growing up in Ireland Fr Mark, the old people would say, "the day's for the living and the nights for the dead", people had that kinda respect for the other world around us , God Bless you Fr Mark 🇮🇪☘️
