What is it that Rangers fans are incapable of understanding when it comes to their club's finances? The money that the club received for Bassey & their European run had already been spent in previous seasons. Do none of them recall the statements half way through seasons that told the fans that the club needed X amount of money to see out the remainder of the season & Y amount to do the same the following? When they did sell players & got a huge revenue increase from the CL, they still made a net loss. Now they have had no major sales & no CL money, the loss in the latest accounts is going to be huge.

Don’t think the rangers fan realises the financial disparity between the two Glasgow teams. Celtic have something like £80m in the bank and will spend eventually. Rangers need to sell players to sign new. Celtic are streets ahead and could be out of sight but for some reason Peter Lawwell likes to put the brakes on at times like these.

Exactly that. Rangers overspent for several season under Dave King and borrowed left right and centre which actually did work. They stopped the 10 iar but those debts had to be repaid to King, Park and Close brothers etc, not to mention Covid which cost them a fortune ( like many others). Truth is the Europa run and a couple of player sales has saved them. Remember Rangers have a higher wage bill than Celtic and Celtic are pulling in £20m every season selling players.
It's no mystery where the money is gone to those who want to know and live in the real world.

Never really been contenders and never will be . As for Europa league , Rangers just a few years ago were unlucky not to have won it so to say it’s impossible is going a bit far . However with the restructuring of CL it’s unlikely we will be competing in Europa league much in future. Being cannon fodder in CL is probably Celtic lot.
