I think this is one of Illenium's songs with deeper lyrics and a clear message that a lot of us may resonate with. Life can be hard. We each have our struggles, and love and connection can be a key part in getting through things. Also, love this music video and the general song!

Thank you ILLENIUM and Teddy Swims, this year I’ve had life changing events, cutting people out of my life, taking chances for myself, for my well-being, my mentality. It really isn’t too late to start over again. You guys have touched my soul where it has hurt the most and you have helped healed it.
This year has been the toughest year I’ve been through in my life. My mom passed away end of last year, I had to adapt to a new family which felt more than forced, my career stagnated for a while, my partner came back into my life and we thought we were going to go all the way this time around, but recently broke it off mutually because I was giving too much of myself and living for her rather than for eachother, and lyric for lyric I related to everything and cried as hard as I did when I lost my mother.
Things will get better soon, but healing is the most important part. To anyone reading this, never, ever think that you aren’t enough. Funny enough, the good things in life always find a way to come to you when you’re ready. Never, ever, ever think that you’ll always be in a pit. There will always be a way to get out of it. You may not see it right at this moment, but it will become visible when you least expect it.

The lyrics are so powerful to me that it brought me to happy tears. Reminds me that love is all around, even when it's alive or passed on. It feels like a message from him telling me that he's ok.
