Thanks for watching! I’m glad you enjoyed the video! Wow that’s really cool, being able to have witnessed the change over time would be such a cool thing to look back on!
Top Video, it looks like Dundee FC will be moving from Dens Park unfortunately. They are drawing plans for a new stadium which will mean these two grounds won't be the closest in the United Kingdom anymore.
@@ArchivistAthletica They have a long way to go before they even get planning permission so don't hold your breath. Great little history of Tannadice and you even had some pictures I ha not sen before.
Been there many a time attending games supporting my own home town team plus I've had the pleasure of having been given a personal tour of United's trophy room by a former player, Davy Wilson. With regard to their great rivals, Dundee Fc, it's just as well for the rest of us non old firm clubs that both teams will never amalgamate. With their combined fan base, what a powerful club that would be both domestically and in Europe. I remember speaking to the then chairman/owner(?) of Dundee FC many years ago who wanted to do just that. He was thinking the new combined club should be called Dundee City but amalgamation was not well received by the fans (too much tradition and entrenched attitudes). For me, the likes of "Dundee Picts" would be a better name, reflecting the history of the Angus area much better than borrowing a style of name more prevalent in England, but alas, I think we'll only ever see such a team in some fantasy Scots Premier League.
My mum stays 20 mins from the dens and Tannadice wean I was a kid I meant to the dens and Tannadice to see foot ball on a Saturday and a Wednesday to if it was not at denscwe want to Tannadice then I seen Glasgow rangers play them 2 teams then I seed I be a rangers fan and I am I still like thev2 teams in dundee bud wean yous 2 play rangers I want rangers to win sins 8 love them so much
great history :) 🟠⚫🟠⚫ and we have a pitch we can play on, unlike dens park. Another interesting point. Dens regularly change the name of the ground due to sponsorship. To the best of my knowledge united have never done so?
Thanks I am glad you enjoyed the video! Yeah since 1909 the ground has only been named Tannadice Park, and from what I can tell there has been no sponsorship name!
Greatest stadium in the world - MON THE SHED 🧡 🖤
😂😂😂😂 you keep telling yourself that , that fair play is quite possibly the worst away viewing in the country , utter shithole
Good video, well done. My first visit to Tannadice was about 1952 consequently, I've witnessed at first hand many of the changes mentioned here.

MON THE SHED!!! Good video lad! Started going Tannadice in 1988.
Thanks! I’m glad you enjoyed the video!

Thanks for watching! That’s a real shame, it’s a really cool story how close the grounds are.

@@blearyview2254 Thanks a lot im glad you enjoyed the video!
Dundee FC have been trying to move since the 90s . So don't hold your breath waiting
It's never gonna happen.
Nice -- but you missed pictures of the huge terrace running along the side of the pitch .
Thanks for watching! I thought I was able to get all of them for the modern ground, but sorry if I missed one.
Great job! #shedrule
Thanks I’m glad you enjoyed the video!
Nice video 🙌

Thanks for watching! That’s a really interesting idea, but yeah at this stage I’d think amalgamation would be near impossible.
I'm going there tonight to watch us lift the Scottish Championship trophy. 🏆
Thanks for watching! Hopefully 🤞
@@ArchivistAthletica It's an amazing piece, thanks. No luck required, we've already done it. 🎉
Not many people know that tannidice Park is the oldest football park in scotland and the 4 th oldest park in the world
Thanks for watching! Yeah it’s a very historic ground, and has hosted some big matches!
should do one on starks park
I’ll add it to my list! Thanks for watching!
Taylor Report had no jurisdiction in Scotland, was 'voluntarily' implemented to the detriment of many clubs.
Correct, however the football league in England and the Scottish football league used the report to introduce regulations.

Dump. Part of it isn’t even open because it’s unsafe ?
That’s Dens across the road.
