- High-intensity interval training (HIIT) has become a popular way to burn fat in the gym, but that's not all this type of cardio training is good for.
The essential framework of high-intensity interval training is always the same: Brief, all-out work periods, separated by rest periods that you wish were just a little longer. The work-to-rest ratio can vary from 1:1 (for example, 30 seconds on, 30 seconds off) to 1:4 or more, and the rounds can be just a few or 15 or more. But no matter how long you rest, the key is that you bring everything you've got to your intervals.
HIIT can be used to lose as much fat as possible while cutting, to stay lean and conditioned while adding muscle, or to improve aerobic and anaerobic endurance for performance-focused athletes.
These exercises can be done at home itself and the intensity depends on the level of stamina each has. So do at your own pace but try challenge yourself by increasing the intensity.

Are these workouts meant to be done in conjunction with another workout? They are just really short so I wasn't sure!
We want you to push your body to its absolute limit for 20 seconds and rest for 10 seconds and finish 8 exercises in 4 minutes(i.e.1st round). After finishing 1st round rest for a minute or less. And go for another 4 to 5 rounds in the same manner stated above.
Hi there. I am loving all of your workouts. I just have a question though. When I follow one of these routines how many sets should I do. Is one set at 6 minutes really enough. I also walk and try to get 10,000 steps in.

12-16 calories per minute.
Stuffed within 5 minutes but finished it in slow mode. Hopefully can keep up in a months time

*What is the main difference between TABATA, HIIT, FREE HANDS and AEROBICS?*
Tabata first of all is a form of HIIT. Both are excellent for your health and can help you feel leaner, stronger and more confident.
The main difference is that Tabata is completed in four-minute increments and completed with higher intensity than other HIIT exercises. Tabata’s rest period is also shorter, always lasting only 10 seconds. Other HIIT exercises can have longer recovery periods, sometimes up to two minutes. In other words, Tabata takes less time but can be more intense, whereas non-Tabata HIIT workouts are spread out a bit longer and are still very intense, but with longer recovery times.
Freehand exercises have a tonic effect on the muscles and internal organs. They tone up the circulatory system and are beneficial in safeguarding the general health of the body.Freehand exercises consist of push-ups, dips between chairs, dips on a bench, rowing between chairs, rope climbs (if there is a gymnasium accessible!), pull-ups, knee bends, one-leg squats or stationary lunges, sprinting, race-walking, lying leg curls, one-leg and two-leg calf raises, and perhaps the most challenging: handstand push-ups. Most of these exercises can be done in your home.
Aerobic exercise is any physical activity that makes you sweat, causes you to breathe harder, and gets your heart beating faster than at rest. It strengthens your heart and lungs and trains your cardiovascular system to manage and deliver oxygen more quickly and efficiently throughout your body. Aerobic exercise uses your large muscle groups, is rhythmic in nature, and can be maintained continuously for at least 10 minutes.
HIIT & Aerobics:
HIIT workouts are short, intense and characterized by bursts of all-out effort punctuated with periods of low intensity, or even total rest and aerobic exercise involves steady state endurance activities performed at moderate intensity, such as running, power walking, spinning or swimming.
