Ron, My family made the Rhoden’s Johnny Rattler top water baits for many years. And to watch you go from start to finish with your lure idea was great to see. I have been watching you from the very beginning with Brant and you guys put outstanding content. But I have to say this one was my favorite. Keep up the great work and yes get Brant to make one and go head to head.
That is awesome Ron! I’m thinking you need to take that to south FL for some peacocks. I would use small lead split shot and some bb’s in the cavity. Bet that big striped souls have eaten that.
Ron, this was super cool! If you wanna try and get some paint experience you can buy lure blanks online, some much more reasonable than others, but tbh I'd throw that CMR OG Mullet color!
@@CameramanRon obviously don't do this with your first one because it has some serious sentimental value, but if you guys liked just making and painting...I'd definitely buy a CMR family made lure. Doesn't even have to include hooks! I'm not necessarily sure how to set it up, but may be a nice way to connect w the subs and maybe put something to a charity you guys like, etc
Never realized you could make a lure on a 3d printer, awesome job! Gotta think of something for that tail more movement has got help. And a chartreuse tail or belly may help too. BBs may help. Absolutely love this video. Can't wait for 3D lure take two
That was so awesome. I can't believe you were able to get something with your own creation. That was priceless. Well done Ron. That was such an entertaining video. I loved it.
So cool. All you guys need to print your own lures (all different) and see who catches the biggest fish. You the man ron i had my doubts at first but that is cool.
One cool lure Ron . At least it caught fish , and ya had fun doing it . A little funky with yer paint job .......but it worked ! Thanks , you always have a fun video . PS , hello Sara . Tom Daytona Beach , FL. 27 , February 2022 .
Two of your best videos in less than 24 hours! Great work Ron. I respect the work that you're doing to produce this content. From planning, to filming, to editing, to delivery....great stuff.
This is so awesome. I never would have thought of this. My buddy has a 3d printer and I'm going to get with him. You are an inspiration Ron. Keep it up. Never stop
Dude Captain Ron! That's a awesome idea. I didn't even think something like that was possible especially with some action to it. Love the paint colors and you also caught a fish on that badboy lol!
Ron, that may be the coolest thing I have ever seen! You can now design and make your own CMR Brand Lures....with a tweak on the paint cause that may be the ugliest lure I have ever seen, but so cool that it works!
Awesome job Chase !! !!! Oh and you to CMR. Lol. Awesome video bro. How long do you think it’ll be before Bryant steals your lure to try and fish with it. Lol
Loved the video, my son has a 3d printer and that thing is awesome what all you can do with it. Thought about investing in me one. Good work on the paint job. 🎣🎣
I really liked this vid, and now I want to see the modifications and see how far you could make it go as the perfect lure, and the biggest fish you can get with it.
Oh my gosh I paused it 2 minutes and 13 seconds it was hilarious Ron was clean shaven then all the sudden he's got facial hair LOL shot on the same day? Can't wait to see if this thing catches a fish!!!
Love your videos Man you guys are awesome if I ever get down florida way I'm going to hit you up and show you a fisherman that is worse than you ever have seen worse than you were a couple of years ago I am terrible 👍😁
Very interesting video!!! Definitely need some better hardware so the wiggle works. Eye spots a definite. Paint before assembly will make it more eye appealing to the fisherman. Perhaps with a solid color base, then add layers of other colors. A cheap air brush from Harbor Freight would be better than rattle can paint. You could be on to something. You got me fired up to purchase a 3D printer!!!! LOL Great video and enjoyed very much.
Cool video Ron! From start to finish that was a great process. I’ve caught fish on lures I’ve made myself in the past. I made a top water popper out of a piece of broom handle and caught fish on it. It was really satisfying! Keep creating great content and I’ll keep watching! Peace and love from the UK brother
That was cool tiny farm fisherman lol great job ron the real test should be brant let him try out lets see what happens job well done tiny farm fisherman
That's pretty cool. I work in a dental lab and we make models of mouth all day long in 3D and I've always thought of 3 D printing lures whether it will work or not which you proved it to me that it does work,, now you can make your own lures , patent it and sell it as CMR lure . Always enjoy your video and keep up the good work!
Great video Ron that was awesome You making a lure and catching fish with it. Hey that last video that Brant made did you get any of that peacock bass? The video didn't show him cooking it but if you didn't get any you got to that's some of the best eating fish
I made a crank bait this past summer and spent forever putting it together and painting it....then BROKE IT OFF after a few casts. I have a bunch more blanks printed now to try again this spring. I used some stainless steel wire through the body of the lure and bent it to make small eyes. It took a few tries to get it right, but it turned out good and was really strong. It is fun to make them and to see it work would have been amazing. Good job!
Couple recommendations... paint then assemble. Also a nice trick to give the look that it has scales is cover it with screen like from a storm door or whatever and spray over top of it. For shits and giggles I would love to see you add a couple of googly eyes to your next one.
There is nothing more satisfying than catching fish on lures that you made I still use them great video really enjoyed watching you catch your fish with it
This is so awesome! I think if you ad a belly weight, paint some eyes and gills, and put a split ring on the front eyelet to ad some action you should be good to go!
when I was young there was a company called Herters that had lure blanks feathers and fur sinker molds ect they went out of biz long ago bought out by Cabelas
you could increase the infill to make it heavier. there is also a post-processing setting in cura that will pause the print at a specified layer, you can then add the weights and then resume printing
Nice!!! BBB and BB seem to have gotten a few kayaks. Y’all need to bring yak out of retirement and let him show them how to catch a tarpon off the beach this spring.
That was sssoooooo cool!!!! a couple pointers on your next attempt: 1. I wouldn't put the weight in the cavity, I have to think that the cavity allows the lure to stay upright. Drill holes in the bottom and use the push in worm weights to keep the center of gravity low. 2. Sand the lure before painting, the paint will stick better and you won't need to overspray. 3. Maybe get an airbrush to paint it, you could really add detail. Overall great job though, you are really putting out great content.
Test with the one you have, then print another. While it's printing pause after the cavity is deep enough to drop the bb's in, if there is a cavity on the bottom. Then you won't have holes messing up the lure.
If your gonna be Bill Dance you need to fall off the dock or over the one wheel...lol or out the mako...I've seen Dance fall off or over everything..but a legend in the fishing community
First The lure was cool apparently you really don't need eyes on a lure to catch a fish cuz you caught too and that was awesome good job good content loved it today on a personal note I was enjoying some cheese balls today and I found a very large one so I threw it on my mouth it was not a cheese ball it was a ball of cheese what a great experience that was LOL have a great day Ron
Wow, that’s amazing and you have convinced me to get one of those printers, been thinking about getting one for a while and now watching you catch fish on the lure you actually made is credible, thanks Ron your a star stay safe x
I'd print off 20 of each piece and as you come up with ideas, and testing, you'll hit on the best 2-3 ways and paint jobs. A friend made them out of oak with cavities too, and painted them different combinations. He used steel shot sold for shotgun reloading, smaller than BBs and rattled perfectly on the ones he wanted to rattle. We never out fished him and he used nothing but his own hard and soft lures.
I think your lure is too cool. It looked like a pretty good lure to me. Have fun and make some more. I don't think the fish care if it had eyes or not. With the changes you want to make you should have a fine lure. Looking forward to more DIY lures.

Hey Ron, i am the designer of this lure. you made a few mistakes: first of all, you are supposed to print this lure with 100% infill, not hollow like you did. there are build in air chambers on top, so it is balanced. second, the screws on the joint are way to deep on your lure. it should be able to fold 45 degree. third, the mid part is upside down on your lure. if you print it with 100% infill, the air chamber would be on the bottom. and of course it doesn´t work properly with the tail glued to the mid part ;) also, a link to my thingiverse page in the video description would have been nice. feel free to contact me, if you want to try again and need some help! have a great day!

I’m going to adjust the model next time I print one, I’m gonna make some changes to this one then start over.
Maybe a small paper clip would fix the tail.
Hey Ron. Love what you doing you and Brant should both create a lure and see who gets more fish to bite. Lots of love from Austin,Tx keep it up buddy
I like it!!
That is cool Ron!!! Having fun making something you can use and doing it with the family too!!! Keep up the fun stuff, thanks brother
Thanks!

Great job on the lure. That would be cool to be able to make a lure from a 3d printer. Loved the vid. Y'all have a great day and see you soon

Def not a genius just really really lucky

awesome job ron it works way to go
Fun video! Great job. I would suggest putting larger hooks on it. That may be all it needs to improve depth.
Good idea!
That was just crazy! Fun when something works! Cheers!
pretty damn cool dude, looking forward to another lure built
Me too I can't wait
Good job with your prototype! It has potential! I use to make lures out of trash which will actually catch fish as well!
I had a blast making it!
I never in my wildest dreams could have imagined seeing someone make their own lure on a printer. You just made my day!
Me either. It was a blast
Heck yeah Ron !! Nothing like making your own lure and catching a fish on it , great video keep em coming brother

Great job!! It's an intense feeling to get bit on a lure that you made
Need to get w/Brad and use the CMR lure on the SS POS!!!!!!
Lol I’d be scared!!
This was a cool vid. Looks like a side hustle for you. Definitely a challenge between you and the others with the same lure and they paint themselves.
I like it!

I don't know how many more jobs I can handle lol
Bmr, like the home made lure , gotta idea y’all have most likely thought of, you and Brant , brad ,and bumbalino race the pedal kayaks
That was cool
Thanks
That is so cool, I wanna make a top water bait and see what comes of it. Awesome video
It would probably be easy to print a topwater given how this one floats
@@CameramanRon I'm gonna carve it out of wood. I'll post a video when it's done.
For future builds Amazon and eBay sell lure kits.
I will have to check that out
