Installed a Radioddity QT 40 with a Stryker A10 mag mount in my work van. Having fun with it. I have a way to go before any Amps are thought about. I would like your opinion for a Base antenna though. Project for the warm days next summer. I will be starting out with AM mostly and 11 meter. I’m thinking about going with the Sirio 827. Hey Mr. Proctor, thanks for tuning in sir. Since you do have some experience in the hobby I would definitely say that Sirio antenna will do just fine, great skip talkers as well. Remember, the first wavelength above ground is just over 36 feet, so try to mount the antenna close to that as possible or even higher . 73 👋🏻
Thanks for tuning in sir. Yes, the Antron 99 is a good entry level antenna, easy to assemble, easy to mount and also comes pre-tuned from factory. Now, of course there are better antennas out there that are more complicated but the Antron is the easiest for any first time base station. Happy holiday 73👋🏻
I have a few fatboy amps that could use a little upgrading.. those tiny wires get hot as hell in there and I’m getting some feedback after keying down on one of the 4 pills any of this something you’d be interested in working on?

Talked to a feller on 32 yesterday. 50db over. But couldnt understand a damn thing he was saying. All muffled and mumbled together. Bad audio in = bad audio out.
