I don't think so. Initially we ignore any source present in the branch, and just write (0-V1), because the current is flowing from 0 to V1; then we see the direction of current due to any source present in the branch (2i in this case), if the current direction is same as the main branch current (which is what in our case) then we add that source (+2i), the whole expression is then divided by the resistance in the branch. To be more precise, you could write ((0-V1)+2i)/6.
U have to watch my videos on nodal analysis to have a better understanding. Let me try to explain here. we are assuming that the current is flowing from vo to ground. If there was no dependent source, then our equation would have been (vo -0)/(10+5). Now consider the effect of the dependent source; the current due to this source will flow out of its positive terminal, which is in the same direction as current from vo, hence this voltage source will be added. so v0+4vx is ok.
Thanks a lot sir , Love from Tamilnadu . Sir kindly tell which book will be helpful for theory among sadiku and hayt. And especially for this topic (thevenin theorem with dependent sources which book is the best) , kindly tell sir
Welcome Pradeep. To me, Sadiku is easy as compared to Hayt. I think my video should be sufficient to understand. Just watch it three times, then you can solve any problem from any book. In case of problem, write me at profkhannazir@gmail.com

Really well explained, thanks!
Thank you sir for your help.. This helped a lot in my exams
Good luck dear.
Hello, in example 14:08, if I have a dependent current source somewhere, do I make it open and continue with same calculations?
Yes. Please see Note at time 10:41
MAY ALLAH BE WITH YOU SIR, THANKS :)

At 14:50 V0 = 7.4V but you mentioned 13.6V
correction sir.

Thanks for this video 🙂
Beautiful
But sir i have a question which seems difficult i need ur help how to interact..plz..
Thanks a lot
Sir can you please tell how you got Vth as 12 at 16:56 ?
Thanks dear. At time 10;40 we had calculated VTH= 12 V.
Great
At 14:30 V1 = 3.6V but you mentioned -3.6V
correction sir.
Yes, you are right, V1 should be +3.6v, and hence V0 will be 7.4V. Thanks, but I hope the concept is clear.
can I have your email id, so I can put forward my doubts to you.

excuse me, at 12:07, should'nt it be i1=(0-(V1+2i))/6 ?? You forgot the bracket.
I don't think so.
