Accoustone will have spicy treble peaks though (which can be a good thing if you find that fun, but more likely you will find uncomfortable). Though the Accoustone will not leak and isolates better than the vented illumination.
The last time I hv heard Acoustone(forgot which models), it was V shaped signature. Bass is really strong and quite trebly. But sure if you want Japan made IEM than Chifi and V shaped signature is desired, sure acoustone is the better buy
Imagine, for $800 you can get a full, over ear Audeze LCD-2. Imagine the difference in the research, materials, and quality that went into the Made in the U.S.A. Audeze and compare to this cheap trinket being put out there for $800. It's laughable. Good review and good job calling them out.
Funny thing you chose that as an example because the tuning on most LCDs (if not all) is horrendous. Most of them have the equivalent treble clarity of some cheap closed backs which heavily limits their perceived performance. My ER4 (which can be had for as little as $160) has better treble clarity than a 2019 LCD-2. With EQ you can kinda tell that the LCD-2 is more detailed but the treble tuning is so bad it loses on clarity compared to much cheaper headphones.
IEMs that are tuned well can have better clarity in some sense of the word at least but at the cost of a much narrower stage and smaller images. Imaging/panning probably takes a hit too but everything is smoothed out up there.
Oh yeah, from a build quality perspective, Audezes are top notch. I absolutely loved the build on my LCD-2. It's just a shame it didn't quite compete for clarity in that price range. The HD800 was miles ahead despite its flaws.
Someone with buffed neck, sure have no problem with LCDs weight. For smol neck asian like myself, it feels quite like a workout session after wearing LCD for awhile
Good review man. I agree with this take.
Love their design, the earpieces look ultimate!!
Thanks for your honest review
Baited me with an Abyss! Looking forward for that one.
Can you improve the bass with different tips? Thanks for the great review!
They look gorgeous though
800$ is too much specially when you can get great acoustune models for 600-700$
Which acoustune would you recommend?
