Heather Fell's Cérvelo P2 | GTN's Presenter Pro Bike

- This is my Cérvelo P2, which I had the chance to ride on a shoot in Mallorca. I also got to race on it in Chattanooga at the World Championships. I actually only got on a time-trial bike for the first earlier this year, and rode another bike for a couple of months. I then got on this one, and I was amazed at how smooth it felt and how easy to ride, and it's also pretty slick and understated. I genuinely really love this bike.

It's a 51-inch frame, and attached to that, we've got profile-designed T2 Wing Aero base bars, and then the Profile-designed T4 Plus Aero bars.
On the end of those, we've got the shifters for the Shimano Ultegra DI2. So I'm using Shimano Ultegra front and rear Derailleurs then Shimano Dura-Ace chain ring at 52/36, which was quite helpful for getting up the big climb in Chattanooga and then an 11/28 cassette on the back.
As you can see, it's using the Quarq Power Metre, and it's the very first time I've ever ridden with power, so racing with it was quite a new experience obviously I didn't need to look at the numbers going up the hill but for the rest of it, it was really interesting, and I managed to stick to my plan pretty well. I've got 172.5 length cranks on the end of those, the Shimano Ultegra pedals. As you can see, I put Shimano 105 rim brakes on the front, and the back.
I'm using the Vision Metron wheels, got the 55SL on the front, and the 81SL on the back, and then on those, running the Continental Gran Prix tyres, at 25 MM wide, and for Chattanooga, I put in a pressure of 190 because the roads were a little bit rough in places.
For Cevelo Aero seat posts, and then on top of the is the ISM Adamo Prologue split-nosed saddle, and it's actually the first time I've ever ridden a split nose saddle, and compared to the time-trial bike I was on previously, this is so comfortable, I genuinely feel like I can ride this bike all day with no discomfort. As we're talking about comfort, you can see that I've still got space left in my position isn't that aggressive, but being pretty new to time-travel bikes this year, I very much wanted to be comfortable and feel confident on the bike and then be able to have that consistent power that I needed to target.
Well as you can see since Chattanooga, I have actually given the bike a bit of a clean, removed all the extra bits, but I stored my spares behind the saddle for the race day, and then I actually use profile-designed Aero bottoms for my Aero bars at the front, and then I had a bottlecage on the downtube, but there's also options on this bike to have a storage box on the top for any of you nutrition.
For you weight weenies out there, it comes in at 8.9 KGs, and just remember though, there are none of the extras on this at the moment, but going through my bike for this pro bike has made me realise how much I love the P2 and I think I should get back out on it, I just need the weather to get a little bit nicer.

Love my P2, my first TT bike too. Slightly lower spec than yours with 105 gearing etc, but still works well. Should be a great bike for years to come!
Nice to see "real world" bikes for a change. Heather seemed very enthusiastic about the bike!
i know I am kinda off topic but does anyone know a good website to stream newly released series online ?
@Julio Reginald Flixportal :D
@Kevin Reid Thanks, signed up and it seems like a nice service :D Appreciate it !!
@Julio Reginald glad I could help :D
I do like that this is more of a budget friendly build verses what we normally see
Awesome bike! Nice that you've found a comfortable saddle. I'm still searching for one myself.
It's great!
I’ve just taken delivery of my new P2 I can’t wait to get out on it and kit it out for the season! 😃👍🚴♂️
Enjoy it, it's a great bike!
Fantastic! It's nice to see a bike that is even remotely attainable (in terms of dream bikes at least)
If i were to go for a proper tt rig, this would more or less be it...
Hey Heather, cool to see your bike, and interesting to see that you're running a mix of gear on it, not just a single top end groupset. Nothing wrong with the 105 parts, they won't make it any less effective than Ult/Dura. It would be extra cool to know more about the customisation you've done and your reasons.
I'm also no bike fitter, but looking at your saddle height and leg extension/knee angle at 0:33 it does seem a size too large for you. And 172.5 cranks definitely seem on the longer side of normal.
51 inch, my god she must be a giant!
A 2 billions space probe have been lost for such mistakes. Imperial makes no longer any sense any where. Feet, miles and inches are even defined using metric values. They only appear convenient because people are used to them.
I dream about this bike... ❤️
Great job heather!
Thanks Kumar!
This P2 Di2 model was such a good seller! Pity that 2018 P2 doesn’t have a Di2 option. Also did you need any adapter to fit the Dura-Ace crank? Or can you only run Rotor cranks without adapter ?
Nice build.
Can I ask why 172.5mm cranks? Seems like a slightly unusual choice for a 51cm TT bike, from what I've seen on GTN shorter cranks seem to be popular among pro Triathletes.
You weren't listening, it is a 51in frame. 🤣
@@Yes-ml4bw Haha yeah, so presumably Heather Fell is about 4 metres tall
Wow 51cm! My bike is a 62cm haha, thinking about upgrading to the P2 when I step up to Ironman next year but it’s so hard to find a bike big enough!
Samuel Walls how tall are you?
I think Canyons go up to 60
Do bike fit First on Retul and find appropriate bike !
Hardly ever see a Shimano chairing on a Cervelo. Did You have Gorilla bottle cages for 70.3 WC ? Nice bike
The GCN guys need two hands to lift the scale and bike. Meanwhile on GTN.....
💪
Just ordered a 2018 P2, can't wait! But can you tell me what is the purpose of the 3rd bolt on the frame next to the bottle cage bolts, right above the bottom bracket?
It's there so that some day someone might design something for it, like the drag2zero storage solution found on the scott plasma
51 inch frame ;)
Ooops!
Could we hear the freewheel noise please
Can i ask why a P2, and not a P3 or P5? Also would you not consider a 47cm frame as opposed to 51cm? :)
mark quigley cus they don’t make P anything in 47cm 🤣🤣🤣 they do have a 45cm and a 48cm though. And someone else pointed out the long cranks I have to agree that’s pretty long, but hey to each it’s own.
Do you know the price difference between the P2 and P5!!??
sharkdom I do😂 didn't think price applied when it's sponsorship and free advertising, that's provided it is of course
mark quigley I didn't see a "paid promotion" at the start of the vid so I think it's her own bike. Just like the early GCN days
Phil Brown good point never noticed that my bad😂
How and where do you buy such a bike. Bike specifications and bike fitting are so overwhelming.. pl suggest
does black anodised rim braking surface on alloy wheels wears over time and becomes more silver underneath after longer use??
They Live We See Yes, wore off in a week or so on Flo 60 wheels.
@1:34 just to the left of the letter o in metron whats that straight line
Looks like a dent/crack to me
yermanoh join in the carbon that's all, you'll see it on just about every set of wheels carbon or alloy, if you look closely enough
cheers
It's a join in the carbon and the lighting makes it stand out more!
Global Triathlon Network cheers
How does the 25mm tyres fit the front fork?
I love my P2, but why get a p2 and change most to ultegra or such, when you could just get the p3 and Di2 straight from the box?
Gary Miles maybe she doesn't have a money tree in her back garden
Hi Heather, you have a Polar M430 watch but what kind of cycling computer with that Quarq powermeter do you use?
Hi M. Ekkelboom, we use the M460 bike computer!
Yes, sorry ik meaned the M460. But the Quarq is with bluetooth?
Yes it is.
what height are you Heather? whats your leg length?
Why do Cervelos seem a lot smaller than other bikes of the same size?
So does heather ride the p5 x or the p2- I’ve seen her ride both in different videos
Heather rode the P2 at the 70.3 World Champs in Chattanooga and then got the P5X before racing in Kona!
how much money does this bike cost?
I hope your tyres weren't inflated to 190, I suspect you mean 90 psi. The max inflation for the conti's is 120 psi.
You're right, it was 90, not 190... I'm not sure the tyres and wheels would have liked that!
1:36 is that a crack?
Hi Charlie, it's a join in the carbon and the lighting makes it stand out more!
51 inch?
That's a beautiful bike. Although it needs mudguards... ha-ha.
Is that a sponsored bike or did you buy it?
Mr Weasel I thin this is not sponsored. They aldo have a p5x which is sponsored
Can I have this bike☹️
Still waiting for made in China copy
It must be good getting a free Cervelo p2
karl Mallyon I didn't see a "paid promotion" at the start of the vid so I think it's her own bike. Just like the early GCN days
I love the idea of GTN but "Pro bike", first time I......first time I.....first time I.....105?
Feels like someone's blog of their first race and setup. Not the level of authority on the subject I would expect from GCN network IMO
