First class job Mr. I had one of these new back in 1977, so I can see what a great resto you have done. loved it and should have kept it! I will buy another one day for sure.
Nice job on your restoration, I've got a 1988 XL 125 that was sitting in my shed for 17 years, took it out this summer and cleaned it up, it only took 4 kicks to get her going, these are absolutely fantastic bikes! Ride safe!
+Fancy BobbyBob thanks! The xl's are a lovely machine. And being Honda, I'm not surprised it only took yours 4 kicks! Ours normally starts well too. Thanks, you too!
Hi there I've just purchased one of these and I'm going to restore it to it's former glory. Having also completed a Suzuki GT 25O I'm aware of the rarity of some parts. Is there anything hard to source for the XL 125..?
Michael Bale Forks are very hard to get hold of. we managed to get one, took months to get the second. Clocks are also hard to get. Best bet is keep an eye on ebay :)
i got xl 125 from 1978 turn on but it does not stay for long I can walk on it but when we get to the traffic light it turns off and you have to turn it on again and keep accelerating so that it does not turn off can you help me thanks
frustratednomad My uncle has an rd 250 E that is very nearly done but wont run. I think the plan is to finish that (Not recorded) and then move on to a YB100 special. Well, unless anything else comes up ;)
frustratednomad With any luck mate! Its quite ironic, I have been looking at the rds and ts! There was a lovely RD DX on eBay, if I had the money Id have had it! Would be tempted to do an lc too
+10trimble yep, the pipe is all original. It had rusted through on the back, so we welded a plate behind it and resprayed the whole pipe. The heat guard is original, re chromed. The wiring loom was rebuilt with new wires, but all of the components are the same 6v ones, including points. Hope this helps :)
Great video fantastic bike. I have a cb125s 1972 which Iam rebuilding it's the bike I passed my test on in 1986. Stay safe 🇬🇧👍

Is the muffler original Honda or replacement?
Also, did you keep it 6 volt with points?
Doing a CT125 right now. Very similar bike.
