- Rick explains how he lost his index finger in a work accident. The missing finger is the inspiration for the name Digit9. The "stubby" makes life difficult for a guy who loves wrenching and working on snowmobiles.

got a story for ya. my uncle in his youth had gotten himself a motorcycle. he was super stoked about it. something happened to where he had to do some wrenching on the rear sprocket and chain, I guess what happened was he was attempting to slip the chain on but his left hand got caught and chopped off his left fingers down to the first joint from the knuckles. sad part was, that was his guitar playing hand. he had a little band going. he wanted to go places. I was 11 and had gotten my first guitar. he heard about it and attempted to show me how to play, he couldn't even make out a note.. the impression on his face was heart breaking. I can tell he wanted to jam with me. to show me what he had. I too had an incident on my left pinky, got my tip ripped off from a door being slammed. I know the pain very well. I was 8 yrs old at the time. but 30 years later it was like it was yesterday. sorry for the book, just wanted to share. hope you the best. happy holidays from Alaska 👊
Better that tip than another....

Never even noticed, I'm blind to it, one of my best buddy's is missing a few from a few run ins on a printing press
Ouch! A friend of mine crushed his index finger in an old printing press. Thankfully the bones grew back together.

@@thatmodshop7160 in my years roughnecking & doing rig support, it’s always been the same no matter where I go. Most people cut corners, no way around it.
@AKproXR fair enough I'm glad I'm majorly see pipelines and plants!
Smashed my fingers in a ram door on a blow out preventer workin on drillin rigs. Went to the ER on Friday they said doc is out for the weekend come back Monday. They cut my ring finger off just like yours. Now I understand your name, thanks for sharing.
My cuzzin lost two fingers after falling off a Log lathe in a lumber mill. When he reached to grab something, it was the Knives on the lathe he grabbed. Leather gloves didn’t help much. Lotsa shit out there will get ya killed! Stay safe.
Got my the top of my middle finger chopped off loading a dirt bike on the back of a truck somehow it went in the break rotor and when the front tire turned off come my finger 😣
