This video raises more questions than it answers. For Iowa's tornado drill in 2023, Chris and I went to Cresco's Allertor with Connor and Sam. We had called ahead of time and were informed of the 1 minute test, which didn't deter us, but we were not expecting it to do alert. So, I hear all of you asking - why does this raise more questions? Well, most of you know I recorded this Allertor doing a very jank attack signal almost two years ago in 2021, which is what we were expecting it to do today. Well that didn't happen, and it begs the question - what in the hell was this siren doing two years ago when I first came here? We do know by now that the siren wasn't supposed to be going off as long as it did that day, but don't know why or how. Either way, it was nice to see it do something other than a growl again. Thanks for watching, and enjoy!
The city of Cresco tests their siren system every Thursday at 12 PM from mid-April to mid-October, weather permitting. The test consists of a very short growl most weeks. The only regularly scheduled extended test is during the Iowa statewide tornado drill, which is on a Wednesday near the end of March at 10 AM.
