    During a hike at Henry Cowell. I found several of these in March 2019. Thanks for the info.

    I love this. I grow scoliopus hallii in my garden in the south of England but I would love this also.

    Is anything know of the tox? If it was ever used as an herbal medicine or anything?

      To me they smell a bit like mold

      @@unaoconnell3096 Got a first whiff of mine this year. Definitely a bit fetid but not too bad that it smelled up my whole porch. Mold is a pretty good descriptor from what i remember.

      To me they smell exactly like live fish! Mostly like the bluegills I would catch as a youngster!! Considered to be pollinated by banana slugs, which you will often find feeding on them.....
