He's a very talented kid with such young age !! With his spirit and determination, he can become a very good player...I believe one day we will see him on TV too !!
omg, footwork is the best ive seen at such a young age. and his shots are exactly where he wants them to be, such a pro. hope he does good when he is old enough to compete in junior tournaments.
Good job! Just make sure that the kid is happy and do not push him too much.. Pity on him. Keep on the good effort on training him. We (the Malaysian) would really love to see Clarence represent Malaysia at the international badminton tournament in the future. If he well trained in Mental and physical, He will definately become a great player more than Sidek's Sons and Dtk LCWei. And hopefully he will read all these comments on that time. God Bless You, Clarence... And may your dream come true.
By coincidence, we met him, Zhu Lin, BCL and Zhang Ning at the KL airport. Earlier in the day we were at the stadium to witness LD and ZL win the 2007 World Championship. We couldn't get near them during the autograph session.
He will be exactly 7 this December. He is a quick learner to acquire so much skill in so short a time. Some of the clips are actually his first day in the court 11 months ago.
Keep it up Clarence! Good to see your progress in the game you love. Wow! Great photo with World Champion Lin Dan. See you soon when we drive up to KL. Love always, Uncle Kiang and family
He could be Lin Dan's cousin. Of all the places in the world, we share the same ancestral hometown as Lin Dan. We have an ancestral home at Foo Yang village on the outskirt of Long Yan City in Fujian Province. With such a coincidence, perhaps Clarence can draw some inspiration.
The boy just took part in an U8 competition. Lost in the 3rd round to the eventual champion. A considerable achievement for a boy who hit the shuttle over the net first time exactly a year ago today. Already he is so quick that he can handle 20 shuttles thrown left and right in 19 seconds(0.95s per shot) . Watch out the clip soon. Clarence Snr.
man. im asian (filipino) and i can still play ball :D. screw the height. i got passion and perserverance and determination thats all i need and support :D. from my family and friends.
Thanks for your comment. Did you view the Rapid fire badminton clip? FYI, the first and last songs are the same from the movie Chariots of Fire. The second is First of May (Bee Gees).
Yeah, why not. It is not about who is better. Good if you can share with all of us. I am sure badminton lovers will enjoy watching kids playing good badminton.
Hi, I have 11 years and am the best of my city and community madrid. in 2008 had the same years as clarence and if clarence still as good in the future can make a game of badminton
@PZX actually taufik was only 17 when was the runner up (to peter gade) at the '99 all england. he didn't turn 18 for another 5 months after that tourney. i just wanted to add that to help reinforce your point lol. cheers
Wow! It's been 10 years and 215k hits since I first posted this. Hope this will continue to inspire many kids out there to play badminton the world over. If u like this, please click👍 button.
@avoidas one thing, most badminton players train not because they are forced to do so, but because they simply love the sport look at his smile at 1:04
@avoidas i dnt get it, why cnt he be good after 12? theres always a chance, my cousin plays badminton and he started at 7 did the same training as the kid in the video is doing, now his 28 and plays for states but doesnt anymore because of soccer.
haha.. he's definitely better than I was as time would say. ONLY A FEW MONTHS??! took me more than a year to get to about where he's at in this vid. i see badminton in his future! ^_^v
Enjoy what you have seen. This child has talent in badminton and certainly for something else too. Do not judge people without knowing them. Even a bum can have a university degree and who knows.
Nice video. Lucky for him to have access to a badminton club. If he continues like that he will reach the top before my son. :) (search for badminton super kid and you'll see mine)
without any discouragement for the nice guy clarence, i fel kids of that age do reasonably well if he or she has the passion for badminton or for that matter any sport . i feel it is the regularity in a sport which automaticaly takes u to these heights. wel clarence can be good bet if he keeps his focus . VISIT AT LUDHIANA BADMINTON ACADEMY IN INDIA I THE CITY OF LUDHIANA PUNJAB AND one can find good talent which can match clarence
omg, if i started badminton at that age... i would be so good. you know, hes going to grow up to be nationally ranked and then his friends will google him for fun. and find this video. and he and his friends will lol.
WOW! 100k hits! Thanks for watching. It is my pleasure to share the kid's joy learning to play badminton. His smile flashing at 1.04 reminds the fun and happiness enjoyed.
he does not give up even after falling on the ground. So why his parents and coach give up providing him good training. If on the age of 19 someone wants to be champions, his training should start as early as possible. Others will start learning the game at 14-15 and they will keep applauding for players of his kind. DON'T GIVE UP.
I think it is premature to dream about it. It is still such a long way whereby there may be a change of interest or priority. Only those with desire + hard work + sacrifices can make the grade.
nt everything is done to earn money ..... badminton is a state of being and awarded to be the fastest game in the world....the french army and german army practice badminton every morning so that there instincts will be improved.....
He just resumed playing recently. In fact today , he happily bought his first racket, Yonex Astrox 88D Pro in 10 years. Now he is eager to regain his touch after a long break. 😆
@avoidas The kid only had once a week lessons for about 10 months up to the time of this video. He is not training as hard as u think. And he is playful and very sociable, and certainly not the robot u imagined. There are many kids training much more than him. You haven't seen them yet, so you are not so experienced yourself.
He's a very talented kid with such young age !! With his spirit and determination, he can become a very good player...I believe one day we will see him on TV too !!
The video itself, the way to do it and the guy. It is WONDERFUL
omg, footwork is the best ive seen at such a young age.
and his shots are exactly where he wants them to be, such a pro.
hope he does good when he is old enough to compete in junior tournaments.
u are one of the gifted talent on this game..
don't loose it..
