    Still can't wrap my head around how cool modern farming is. Tom is a great communicator in this field (no pun intended). I keep reminding myself of your hard work every time I have a meal. Thank you!

      Jup, this shows how nery and egineering heavy Farming is.
      respect to @Tomlamb980 to be so transparent in showing all of this, cool.
      I'm really happy with his shameless plug on @colinfurze 's channel

    What I find very impressive is, the fact that you appear to have a casual demeanour, but you are very detailed & never take any short cuts to make your life easier.

    Neat job with the fans! As an electrician I would recommend if you put a plug and socket on the bottom of the isolator. You won’t meet to leave the fan out in the elements all year round and will extend its life. Mark it up as fan use only, if it is likely some numpty will plug something else into it. FANS WILL NOT RUN IN REVERSE. Turning the impeller want work either I am afraid, you need a square to round adapter and turn the fan over.

      The fans are centrifugal so I don’t think you can reverse the flow.

    That’s a nice barn, very nice 👌 You can’t reverse the motors, but it only needs a square-round adapter to blow into the floor ducts.. Because the motor is separate from the fan they will suck hot air from a heater just fine. I’ve sold water heat exchangers to dry wood chips in a barn with a mesh floor, the heat helps. Equally, if it is 21 temp in the core I bet the fans dry it really well.. The humidity in the ambient air is a big part. You don’t want to be pushing damp warm air into it, if you see what I mean.. We were still fighting damp at 600 temp and used dry nitrogen bottled gas. Damp is mental :D

    I do like that pusher upper attachment, helps a lot to pack the store with more grain to get the last of it in. Just thought that was a useful little tool. Nice one....

    Nice storage! I love the vent spikes on the floor. I have storage, and I dump the corn as a first layer and then use auger to pile it up to the windows I have for ventilation😁

    First time I saw this way of storing I thought it was crazy. Virtually everything in the US is bins and augers. But if you've ever had to deal with what a pain it is to maintain all that stuff, especially in the dead of winter... This actually starts to look appealing. My only worry would be what would happen if a vehicle used inside sprang a fluid leak.

    • @Tomlamb980
      @Tomlamb980  Рік тому +1

      I think it’s crazy using bins and augers it takes about 15 seconds to tip 20tons in a barn. When the shed is empty you can use it for storing machinery.
      That has happened before once just put some spill dry on it or dust to soak it up.

    Great idea about using the motors in reverse. Only need good ventilation to remove the moisture 👌🏼

      Doesn't work though. A fan like that can only work in one direction, it can't work in reverse.

    Same fans in my store that I put in last year. Sparky wired the phases the wrong way round, it resulted in them doing nothing. Might be worth swapping the impeller though 🤔

    I'd extend them marker pipes another meter or so so they are more visble as you empty the store as they seem hardly high enough to show above the slope of the grain as you take a full bucket out , you can bet as you are loading a truck and filling the bucket right up you just catch a pedsatal and as you back away with the bucket full the top of the pipe just comes visable 1 bucket to late ! Nice job though looks great.
