Right on Tac, cool story. Thanks for sharing. I spent a season working in Oregon and had a creepy encounter. I was out doing an endangered amphibian survey at a remote lake which required a decently long hike in. I spent a few hours around this lake getting set up, making observations, recording data, and all that shit. Nothing really weird happened but I did wonder why it was so quiet - no birds, etc. I figured it was because of my goofy-ass hauling in there with gear and making noise. Well, on my hike back out I started following my footsteps in, but started noticing another set of tracks. Mountain lion. As it goes - you don't see them, but they see you.
I love how you said that you're a bird whisper but it wasn't too long ago that you were in a fight with a quail like you ode them money still one of my favorite videos in your own yard and I'm glad that bear didnt come there to collect some money he just walked up like hey boo boo bought some fireworks I see where my pocket basket money hahaha glad your doing well man much love and good story later brother
Every guy knows exactly how to fend off a bear... until he actually sees one walking up to him lol. Considering you got out of the situation unscathed, you did the right thing. I absolutely agree, not knowing what you'll run into in your own back yard is part of the fun of living out in nature. Seems like you get it!
The worst thing I would see in the UK is a stray cat, a cow in a field or someone who was intoxicated coming home from the pub. If I had just seen a bear that close up I think I would need the toilet.
It’s a lot more fun when you’re in the middle of the bush and one of these buggers rolls up and you don’t have a firearm. I’ve had a few Black bear encounters over the years, most scare off easily but the odd ones are curious and those make me nervous. It’s always amazing to see large wildlife. Moose are my favourite.
@@cbr600rrturbo 2 years ago I had a bull moose start to charge at me while I was on an atv on a logging road, I came around a corner within 30 yds of a bull and a cow during the rut, that pissed him off. Let’s just say I’ve never spun the quad around that quick. Once I got some distance he stopped and turned back towards the cow.
Sometimes we can hear coyotes howling in the forest, so whenever we take the dogs out at night we always keep both of them on a leash. It’s quite nice having creatures like that around our home, even though it can also be quite nerve racking for some of us.
Glad you didn’t have to smoke his ass! I’m afraid I would have to, because of my youngens. I wouldn’t be able to sleep, knowing that dude could potentially go after one of my kiddos. Not in bear country, as far as I know though. Keep pushing on, mate🤙🏼
That's cool man. I walked head on to one on a trail here in N. California. They are curious but have a pretty good sense of self preservation and will run most of the time. It gets your attention though! Good stuff, brother.
TAC. I live in western North Carolina. Tons of black bears here - including "in-town". These things live in town, in the woods - they're everywhere. Bottom line is we live in their space. And have to share it well. Saturday going to get some "good" coffee. Get out of the car in the parking lot. He's 10 paces away. Just be cool, and move on. VERY COOL, BROTHER.
There's no such thing as "a small one" when it comes to bears in the wild, they can all mess your day up if you're not careful. Glad you weren't attacked my man! Take care of yourself
That’s true. A member of the NJ black bear response team told me that even a yearling bear could kill a man. An adult can kill a man in five seconds if it wanted to
Awesome story bro! Considering how far north you are, I'm a little surprised this was your first bear encounter "in the wild" so to speak. I was staying at my sister's place in the Poconos in northern PA, BBQing some chicken when I had to chase off a bear that got a little to curious. He was the shortest, fattest bear I think I ever seen
We’ve been seeing a lot of moose over here in Saint Lawrence County. I saw one crossing the road about a mile from our place one morning a year or two ago. They’re huge! We had a bear running through our hay field in august. First one I’ve seen at our place.
My family has property up there near Warrensburg and we've heard there has been moose sightings occasionally... pretty cool. That bear scare would've been a little to close for me..
Jese, an FN bear. Frig. What the, wholy SHIT. EMPTY YOUR PANTS. That was a cool story. Jese. Glad to hear your still with Mrs. Tac, I'm still with mine too.
Awwww Yeahhhhhh Story time with Tac, I would shit my paints too, so cool the death picture 😅😅😂😂, thanks for the story I've not seen one up close nor do I want to, screw tube didn't notify me of this vid or I missed it somewhere....Merry Christmas and a happy new year to Tac and Mrs. Tac
I've had Bear bring me their cubs ... The cubs had Ticks, and the mom wanted me to help her cubs. Guess word got out eith the wild animals. Bears, cougar, foxes came to me for Deticking.
Small bears are still scary. I had a run-in with a cougar in the Mojave. I used my glock 20 to scare it off. Just 3 shots over its head. I caught it stalking me on a hike. That's when I drew the Glock and squeezed some off.
@cbr600rrturbo amen. That's how I was raised. My home gets visited by bobcats and coyotes often. Lost a few livestock to the Bobcats. So I know wherever I go to always keep myself strapped. Oh and Southern Cali too. So you know there is always a chance of some goofballs from another area who may be armed coming through my land.
always on your side, i used to visit upstate a lot, im stuck in vt, have had similar woods experiences. on our porch got pictures somewhere, but three of em, can't have bird feeders anymore. was 10 ft away. seen photos of catamount pulling deer over a fence in hubbarton, thats parallel to crown point., not supposed to exist here either., im in barre now. less than probably an hour30 from my man tac. used to work in placid and plattsburgh, and in between. could a crossed paths for all i know. i got some shit yad like. Ehhh, betting ya know whitehall too. say high. can stand a chat with you.
Damn I thought we was about to get a Bigfoot story... LOL I've hunted all over the country and been to Alaska a couple times and I've had a few run in's with bears and saw a mountain lion once... They're some pretty cool creatures for sure but we got false charged by a big grizzly up in Alaska and ain't gonna lie I was scared $h!tless. He got about 50ish yards away when he stopped and we just backed out of there. It's definitely an Alaskan experience I could've done without... LOL
Of course, this is UA-cam so Tac had to alter the story a little bit to pass the censorship. But I think we all know what really happened - Tac was sitting on the porch with no pants and the moment the bear saw something that outweighed it by a hundred pounds, it bolted straight back into the woods.
Last year around this time. I was stay at my parents house for the holiday. They live in Maryland in Sykesville. Its country by city standards. But its like a huge neighborhood. The sad part around summer time a teenager hit and killed that bear Driving drunk. That really had a effect on me. After the sightings people on Facebook would keep track of the bear. Wow Tac, that's wild! Even small ones will eff you up!!
Epic photo, I am slavic. Bears are a specialty for us. I will come up to The people's Repulic of New York and take care of it for you. Be safe man.

Haha. That’s so awesome Tac Always wanted a Crow as a pet
A while back I watched all the bear attack videos on UA-cam, but with them near you, you might not want to watch those :]

The ending is so relatable. “Makes it more I duno, exciting… cause like you could just die!” 🤣🤣🤣🤣 yes I 100% agree Tac. Good to hear fron ya.

If I do though, _guess I'm lunch._
it was alittle scary

Great story Tac. Black Bears are mostly curious and just out for a walk. Photoshop Hahahahaha.

Cool story and experience brother. Thanks for sharing this. I've been that close to a lot of animals but never a bear. Maybe he wanted a beer. 😄

hell ya
Cool story. I'm glad you got out safely and also that the bear came out safe as well! The birdie pictures were a nice bonus.
You do not wanna come face to face with a mountain lion. Chances are it stocking you. You will have to take it out before it takes you out.
I'm kind of jealous man! I might have tried to pet it myself!
