  • Hello everyone! 👋🏻 Welcome back to my channel and to another video of the British English version of "Words of the Month."
Like the Chinese version, each month, I'll collect and share five words I find interesting or useful and teach you how to pronounce it according to British English. Of course, there will be some example sentences for each word to show you how to use them. This series is great for those preparing for the IELTS!
    This month's selections are:
    🛜Slide into DMs
    🛜Cancel culture
    🛜Doomscrolling
    🛜Ghosting
    🛜Virtue signalling
A quick note: I use a circumflex (a little ^ symbol on top of certain letters like this: â î ê û ŷ...) on top of certain letters to indicate where the tone typically goes up when pronouncing a word. This is to help you with intonation; however, English isn't a tonal language, so the rules for tonal changes vary from person to person and between different accents. The circumflex I use is based on the IPA and serves as a general guide.
As usual, thank you very much for watching, if you found this video and series helpful, please like, subscribe as well as like and follow my Facebook and Instagram pages:
